OK, now that you got us all riled up, you better post early in the morning. How about 20 hours from now? Of all the luck, I get caught up to the rest of you and get hit up by a cliffhanger!

Macy's pictures provided the final clue to who done it! I like how the pieces all fit so nicely. However, I still would like to know the motive. Why is Macy so special. Whatever the reason, I think that when Jase has made his 40 healings, his past and future will be revealed. I don't know about the past, but suspect his and Lucas' futures will be spent together protecting Macy as a family.

I don't have much to say that @CincyKris hasn't already said. I think Lucas also realized it and knew that's all the information they would get. Getting Jase to the hospital was more important. Now we have partial explanations for each attack made directly on Macy, but there are still some big empty holes. Who is the man at the park? Who was the second attacker at the hospital? Who was behind the attack at the police station and what happened to those who attacked it? Of course I still feel that Swift and/or Martinez are not who they say they are. Lucas was distracted by her when they first met. Was that a compulsion? Swift doesn't seem to be recognized as a police officer by some on staff. Why? With four more chapters left, I'm getting desperate for some clues.
-
Wow! Jase didn't have a chance to use his power. Colin's friend who helped him at the hospital snuck up and hit Jase on the head. At least I hope it was only a hit. As pointed out by drsawzall, that was a nice foreshadow.
-
Trash Swift's explanation of drugs. Nothing Jase and Lucas indicate drugs were the cause of the murders, and what they did find points to Macy as the target. I too want Jace to start looking at Macy's drawings for clues. Maybe there is a picture of the mysterious man in the park. He seems to have been there more than once and established a friendship with Macy's mom that compelled her to talk about the family.
-
This flashback explains why Jace is reacting so badly with the abduction of Macy. However, he should also realize that Macy would probably have been kidnapped anyway. The kidnapper has the ability to control Macy. If Jace couldn't detect the kidnapper, the the kidnapper could easily take Macy and disappear to the car before blocking Jase's ability to track Macy. What Jace and Lucas did before probably doesn't matter. One disturbing thought however is that Swift, if he is not a villain, may have set up a trap for the villain. I want some answers from Swift.
-
I haven't made a judgement on whether Swift is a villain or another good guy with power. Whoever kidnapped Macy is definitely a power user and probably compelled her to sleep. How the villain is keeping Jase from finding her is another mystery. I don't believe that Macy's parents were killed because of drugs. It is Macy that is the target. Why the villains want to keep her alive is another mystery.
-
Where is Macy? The disturbing thing about this is that Jase has no sense of her or where she is. It seems the dark forces are working against Jase. I hope she is close enough she can hear them shouting for her and will answer. I did fear something bad might happen when Swift told them to stay there and not move.
-
I totally agree with @CincyKris and @drsawzall that Swift has the same power as Jase. Jase's reminiscing about Baby's behavior reminded me of how Martinez spoke of Swift at the station. It would also explain her actions that separated Macy from Jace and Lucas as well as sending them away in her car. After what Harry told Jace, I also suspect Swift may be one of the dark ones, although Phillip also mentioned meeting good people with the power that could mean Swift is there to help, but in another way. You do twist a plot very well @Libby Drew!

There's a lot of background information on Jase and what he faces in this chapter. Some suggest that there is a future for Jase and Lucas. That may be, but I do remember the indentation of a ring on his ring finger when he saved his first soul. That could complicate anything in the future with Lucas. I don't think this is about Jase's orientation, since he does seem to be after males. I also wonder how he will feel about his use of compulsions to manipulate young men, barely legal, to do what Jase wants them to do in bed. That skates closely to rape. The other disturbing information was that Jase and Lucas may be up against darker beings with Jase's same powers. That would mean that their current location will be easily found and that friends may be manipulated to work against Jase and Lucas. It's a very complicated plot you weave @Libby Drew! Well done!

A bit less action, but Jase and Lucas are relaxing too much. Their safe haven may not stay safe for long as they leave tracks that can be traced. Even if there is no tracking device on Martinez car, the use of the credit card can be traced. Martinez car is known, so these professional assassins after Macy could know where to look for the car. What doesn't add up for me is that Macy would probably be dead by now if whoever chasing her wanted that. Is there something we don't know about Macy that her pursuers know? I also don't understand why neither Jase or Lucas has ask her what happened to make her scream at the station. Also, what happened at the hospital? Jase and Lucas need to know more about Macy, but seem to avoid question about why these criminals might be attacking her.

Sh_t !!! X#x%#?!&!!!!!!! What went wrong? Since Mereval is there waiting there must have been an escape route that wasn't shown on the building plans. I wonder what they did to Essell that knocked him out? I have not doubt that Bouncer is on his way, and left at least one dead guard behind. Will he get there before Mereval's gang whisk Essell away? What is very disturbing is that Garjah has some traitors in his own forces. Of course this also puts Timok back in my suspect bank. @Cia, Did your really need to make this a cliffhanger? I protest!!!! I'll be feeling like this until the next chapter posts. BTW nice diversion. I was worried about the wrong guy.

I love chocolate lava cake! Now I have to visit my local bakery. -
Hi Gary! I see you are up a bit late, so it must have been a good. Not knowing any of the latest movies and netflix I looked it up. I was surprised it was based on the same legend that is the basis for Hamlet. Hope you get a good sleep in tomorrow.

What happened in the police station was very confusing. Jase and Lucas were told what the police think happened, but it didn't sound logical to me. The first thing that alarmed them was being separated from Macy, but they dealt with that only to be subverted by Martinez' offer of the Disney Channel. There was no indication of a problem until Macy screamed. Why did she scream? Who were the criminals trying to kill? How did they get to Macy before anyone knew they were in the building? I also have a problem with Martinez being at the right place to give them the keys to her car. Why and how did she get there? Is there a tracking device on her car? Lucas may have a safe place for them, but it won't be for long if there is a trace on Martinez' car. The thrilling action continues.

Excellent analysis @drsawzall! Your arguments imply that the corruption may be much deeper than I had envisioned.

Interesting ride to the police station. Jase coming clean to Lucas about his powers and demonstrating his compulsion gave them both a lot of chances to flirt. It was good that Macy was asleep.
-
This chapter was filled with edge of your seat action. Jase's powers not working as expected has complicated what should have been an easy task. Lucas can't be persuaded, but Jase's actions spoke louder than his compulsions. Lucas is a warrior for children, but also a warrior trained in martial arts. He was more than effective in dealing with two assailants. Lucas now seems to be able to give Jase a bit of trust. The mystery of both Jase and Macy are now intertwined. Looking forward to what is to come next.

Four chapters that develop characters and deepen the mystery was a great way to hook me on the story. Jase has arrived on the scene. Last we heard he was on an emergency case in Kansas City. How much time has passed? How many people has he saved already? It seems that Jase has not changed much from his physical appearance. He does seem to use his power of persuasion much better on Martinez. Why doesn't it work on Lucas? What's wrong with Macy? She seems physically OK. How will Jace be able to help her if there is no health problem involved? Can Jase work on mental problems? Or, does Jase have some powers that we don't know about yet?

I kind of liked Courtyard Shag also when all the Aggie boys arrived in the very tight blue jeans.

Christmas was again a special time for the kids in Uncle's House. It was great that Marcel was able to visit during the holidays. Ivan's farming methods are good. I suspect he may be providing for both the home and the club soon. I wonder which of the boys GG mentioned needs Armand? Thanks for another wonderful chapter.

Keeping that in mind, I dedicate the following in your honor.
