Rafe has a Daddy issue button that makes his powers ramp up quickly and with even greater power. If he can learn to control his anger, and use it in battles he will be unstoppable. Andre referred to it as a panic attack, and has seen it before. This time probably scared Andre even more, since he was not able to help Rafe. I would advise Hecuba not to use that again agains Rafe. She may not survive.

@drsawzall, Thanks for the link to pictures of Emerson Theater. It is a beautiful theater, and I am happy that it was restored.

Ian and Kevin were two homeless boys, but with the help of their new family and friends at The Boot are now successful business men. All is well until they get tragic news and begin planning a rescue of an orphan. The story is well written and the characters are all endearing, even the spies and body guards. Although the story is part of The Boot series, it easily stands by itself. This is a rewarding read that will leave you feeling great.

Chapter 17 The Return Home
raven1 commented on Mancunian's story chapter in Chapter 17 The Return Home
Great story that has a wonderful ending. Looking forward to many more. -
It is sad to read about the decline of the once proud theaters. I lived through this time as many grand and beautiful theaters were neglected and eventually torn down. I would not have enjoyed watching a movie like Aliens in that kind of environment. The characters in the story seem to reflect the environment of the theater.

I Almost Touched A Pussycat Tail
raven1 commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in I Almost Touched A Pussycat Tail
What a riot! Rusty demonstrating Matty's kiss using a glass had me in stitches! It got even better as I read the story. Matty offering treats then chasing the cat boy up a tree? OMG! Then getting into Matty's room and accusing him getting off on zombie wizards kept up the laughs until my gut hurt. Please read to me for 5 minutes, then 30 minutes which ended in a much longer sleep together in Matty's bed. I wonder if the campus rag will have a posting on Rusty sleeping with Matty. Or maybe a story on the mysterious cat boy on campus being chased by the King! Of course Rusty has be visiting dat famous river in Egypt while sneaking a peek to see what was under the boxers by his head when he fell asleep. Great fun Laura!- 38 comments

Headstall could have named this Daniel in the Lion's Den, or the Daniel is the Lion in the Den. It is a story of love between Colin a man of the cloth and Daniel, one of his parishioners. A sermon gone wrong, gets it right. Great read that leaves you happy and hopeful!

Daniel, meaning God is my judge, is well named. He definitely had the courage and strength to fight for his love. I believe in God, but not in people like Hilda. She thinks because of her work, she can do something only God has the right to do, judge others. She did so on suspicions only without facts and that makes it even worse. The devil does not test my faith, but people like Hilda do test it daily. Great story Gary!

Armie is a whore and Trent is his current client...or maybe a stalker! A short about a one night stand or something more? You'll have to find out by reading this interesting story. Brief but well written, it is like a small package containing a wonderful surprise.

I enjoy these short stories you have written Gary. They are compact, but are complex and detailed. It's like a small gift, nicely wrapped, but when you open it you find something dear and lovely. I am happy that you are back to writing stories like this again.

Stepping Through the Mirror
raven1 reviewed Headstall's story in 2016 - Winter - Rewind: Pre-2016 Themes
Having not one but two super star siblings is rough on their younger brother. Blake feels like he is hidden in their shadows though the three siblings love each other very much. Finding recognition for his own talent and someone to focus their attention on him would be like "Stepping Through the Mirror" into a bright and beautiful new world. You'll have to read this sparkling gem in order to find out what happens. Happy Reading!-

This is another short story gem. I think Alison should win the award as best supporting sister. Neither parent is bad, but not exactly wonderful parents to Blake. Marilyn is down right obnoxious and self important. I am glad that Blake got the recognition he finally deserved for his talent, and for his own self. Ryan is an honest guy, but seems a bit shy. His flirting was subtle and I can see why Blake wasn't aware at first he was the focus of Ryan's attention. This is the kind of sweet and happy story I like to fall back to after reading some of the more intense dramas. Gary, I love all your stories, but you short stories definitely have their own niche in my heart!

This short autobiography of Mancunian is both unique and inspirational. He courageously reveals many experiences that make his writing, especially in The Boot series, authentic. I highly recommend reading his stories first, then get to know the man by reading this autobiography.

There was a lot of sadness you had to deal with, but I am happy you are still with us. I admire the courage it took to write this piece. I gives me a better understanding of you, and demonstrates your ability to take experiences from your real life to inspire the wonderful stories you have written. Thank you. Terry

Working on getting some errands done and catching up on my reading. The cold is gone, but I am still building up my energy by not doing a lot of physical work around the condo.

It's great that Benjamin will be able to go to the UK. It would be wonderful if Ariel can go too. Tom's association with Ox was surprising and it sounds as if he will return to the UK also. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Chapter 14 Benjamin's Secret

Benjamin is another unexpected twist. He has high expectations to want to become a doctor. I hope he can be helped to reach his goals. -
Benjamin is a very loving and honorable young man. It sounds as if he is one small step away from being homeless. I hope they are able to help him.

Joseph's accident was something anyone could do. I am glad he didn't over react and try to run away. -
Chapter 9 Getting To Know Joseph Part 2
raven1 commented on Mancunian's story chapter in Chapter 9 Getting To Know Joseph Part 2
Joseph has a lot of questions, but hopefully the answers will help him understand that he is part of the family. He worries too much for a child his age. As for the aircon discussion, I retired to Thailand from the US about 13 years ago. Aircon is a must even for the Thais. It's one reason that shopping malls are very popular here. It a great place to spend time when the temperature gets in the 90s F . Fortunately, electric rates are cheap here and I spend less for year round aircon, than the winter heating bill in the US. -
Hi Albert! It looks like Steve's going to have a great dinner tonight!
