    Chapter 5

It seems the people on the Noor are adherents to Patrick Henry. They prefer death than lose their liberty. They are beginning to sound more like the heroes of this story. The Puritans are sounding so mechanical and emotionless. I feel a great deal of uneasiness at the prospect of getting to their planet.

    Chapter 4

Alien Sex Ed 101. The Puritans are sexists. Using something drug like to inhibit their sex drive just doesn't seem like a good idea. With such great medical technology, isn't there a different solution. Cutting off spare body parts at 140 years old sound a bit like the old sci-fi movie, Logan's Run. I like the fact that they have saved Adam, but their solution seems to lack creativity. It just doesn't feel right to me. It seems that the rebels are striking back.

    Chapter 3

I am amazed at all then information quietly tucked into these first chapters. Lord Kelshen and Relshek are top scientist in charge of dealing with Solitaryarolous. We don't know what this is, but if affects people coming out of incubators it probably is affecting the growth rate of the population negatively. That would be a threat to the civilization of Purity. This threat is rapidly increasing. Somehow, Adam seems to be a key in solving this problem. We also know there is an AI that covers everything in this civilization. The medical technology is phenomenal, but still can stop the deterioration of the body. However, the human like beings do not show outward signs of aging. Now the ship on its way home to Purity has a major problem to confront. It is being approached by a ship from their planet that is maintaining "radio silence". Are the people aboard friendly, rebels, pirates or dead? For that matter, why is the AI of the ship not responsive? Great chapter with a lot to think about. The dialogue is ingeniously crafted to subtly reveal so much information!

    Chapter 2

Adam's rescue is probably a good thing, because the aliens are committed to cure him. Sage's rescue doesn't seem necessary, since the police thinks he is crazy, or maybe just reporting some costumed murderers. Who are the attackers the aliens took down? Why did the aliens take Sage? There's a lot of questions generated by this chapter.

    Chapter 1

Adam is a very independent young boy. Even with the obvious signs he is dangerously ill, his fierce pride makes him a very empathetic character. I really felt the oppressive mood of the story in the descriptions of the street and weather. I suspect that Christian and Relshek are the same character, but Christian seems nurturing and Relshek a dispassionate professional. I wonder why Relshek and Lord Kelshen are so focused on Adam. I don't like Sage. He is too self centered and selfish to waste any of sympathies upon.
  6. Kittens are survivors. If I were the old cats I'd be worried about the Revenge of Yayo. Maybe you could write a short story with this title. You know, get back into writing. I know it would be a fun read with your sense of humor.
  7. It does help if you get stoned. 🤪
  8. Hey Drewster! Love the Yayo tales! Kittens are so much fun to watch, especially when irritating their elders.
  9. Me also. I looked it up. It was made a year before I was born. Wikipedia describes it as this. As a teacher this has been a very huge concern of mine for decades, but that's too long of a story to tell here.

    Prologue

A thoughtful and compassionate Foreword. I look forward to the story.
  11. Impatient patient?😛
  12. Good Morning Spike. That's what you get for being a young man Spike. I actually had the same problem until I had read the first four Dune books. I loved the first movie, but thought it left out too much of the story and was confusing because of that. Of course I was in lust for Patrick Duffy and Sting (sexy as a redheaded bad boy).

    Fate’s Reward

A very entertaining wrap up of the various threads of the plot. As always, Apollo and Susie were a pleasure to see. Axel and his surprise gift was great, as well as the planned rehab of the bears. I was very pleased to see the addition of a sun bear to the bears in SF. SF has been a focal point of Asian immigration, and it seemed unusual not to find Asian bears in the population. The expansion of Axel's company to the Pacific and the renovations to restore the hotel will probably mean Mike and Axel will visit Siku, Shivay and Charlie often. I am happy that Shivay will keep close to his mother to protect the rest of the world from her evil. As for the promised surprise, I am patiently waiting.
  14. Hi Cassie! How are you doing today?
  15. Hi Bucket! I thought the weather might be too cold there for the murderous beasties to be out and about. I used to dream of traveling and maybe living for a while in Australia. After all these posts, the dreams have become nightmares. 🤪 BTW, Have you read any of Mawgrim's Pern stories on GA? Mawgrim does a amazing job of writing in stories to fill some of the timeline gaps in McCaffrey's books, yet sticks like glue to the cannon and incorporates new characters with the canon characters by Anne.
  16. Howdy Spike! Hope you are doing well. I did love the Dune books written by Herbert, but the ones written by his son and another author never interested me.
  17. Hi Page! Sandwiches are my default for hot days also.
  18. Take care Clo. I'm sending my best wishes. Just follow Cassie's advice. It's about the only thing to do that will help. If it does get worse, get to the hospital. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will feel better soon. (When Aod had covid this spring, he slept for at least 18 hours a day. By day four he was stomping around the house complaining he was bored, completely cured and wanted to go out. I had more problems with him getting well than being sick.)
  19. Hello Gary, Hope you enjoyed your walk. I like to do that also if the rain is very light, although Aod insists walking in the rain will put me in the hospital.
  20. Hey Albert! I feel for you buddy! It's 35 C here, but also humid. The forecast for the week is storms with the temperature dropping to 29 C by Friday. I'm going to hate to see my electric bill this month! 😵 I imagine you are too. Tell Steve Thank You for the reassuring words about the operation. I am feeling better about it.

    Monday

In an attempt to be cool, Reza is still trying to push his parents' buttons. The buttons are out of order, because his parents can easily see Raza is very engaged in Ravello. He is enjoying the relaxed nature, beauty and interesting people. He is taking time to enjoy not only taking pictures, but sitting around and observing the environment. He is beginning to appreciate the differences between city and country life. I enjoy the dialogues he is having with himself each time he gets shaken by an assault to his preconceived notions. He is getting a great cultural education. His physical descriptions of Gianni, Angelo and Otto could be considered a bit gay. He actually is quite impressed with their courage and attitudes. Reza will be a different boy by the end of the vacation. Great chapter James. A lot of humor and not too heavy on the angst with Reza.
  22. Spent 5 hours at the hospital with all the tests and doctors. Outcome? The all agree I will survive the operation. I had full battery of blood tests, urine analysis, chest x-ray, electrocardiogram and one more eye exam. Then three visits with the doctors. A lot, but only cost me $140 USD. Left me exhausted, so I took a nap when I got home. Now Aod and I are going to dinner with friends tonight, so I'll say Good Night! Have fun!
  23. I was looking for a quick short read that would lift my spirits. This fit the bill. You won't get overloaded with a lot of anything, but you will be left satisfied with a warm, content feeling. Just what I needed. It is a very nice sample of the writing of one of GA's classic authors, David McLeod.

True, but I don't roam a lot nowadays, so I had forgotten that.
