I began reading the chapter and thought that Donovan's morning wake up was a beautiful gesture. Sure, he should have discussed it first with Shane, but Donovan's intent was to please his boyfriend. Shane's reaction was definitely way over a little upset, and I didn't understand why. Donovan's talk with the AARP group backed Donovan until Dr. David's assessment. I had to do a 180 degree. Thankful I have never had that kind of experience, but fully aware it is true. One of my best straight male friends got raped back in the 60's. I would imagine that Shane has never confided to anyone considering his father. Since Thad mentioned the fact that Shane's not allowing any one to touch his butt in college, I suspect whatever did happened was in high school. It would also explain Shane's negative comments about his ass. This is one hell of a problem! I hope Donovan is the one with patience and compassion to help Shane this time.

Do you know how expensive it is to buy enough ice for a polar bear bath! That was so hot! I see that Shane has overcome his inhibition with PDA. That's good, because Donovan is not a total bottom with his obsession over Shane's butt. It's going to be fun to see how wild Shane reacts when he's on the bottom.

I am intrigued by Zephyr. Why does he think he is the heir to the throne? If he had any claim, it would seem that Merlin would know and at least acknowledge him. It almost seemed as if Merlin doesn't even acknowledge his existence. Sune seems to toy with Zephyr when Zephyr follows Sune. I wonder if there is some sort of interest on either of them for the other. Love the chapter.

Yeah girlfriend! They're boyfriends at last. Thad intentionally or unintentionally put a speed bump on their plans for afters. Personally I think it was intentional. Shane was such a gentleman and will earn the trust of Donovan for his efforts, I hope. I did love the hot, slutty scene in the parking lot. Shane has come a long way. Delightful chapter.

Shane Kelly....sounds like I've heard that name before. At least we finally know his full name. I somehow think that Thad is going to add some twists to the story. Maybe he will be the twin's next conquest? I do approve of the DONNAS joining the party at Ballers and Beers. (Where did you come up with that name? It sounds like a sexist, redneck sports bar.😂)

Only you, @Mrsgnomie would have set the first date in a VD clinic. Donovan comparing himself to the Bride of Frankenstein and the resulting tumble was so comical. Oh! I forgot to mention how much I loved the retaliatory Kiss that led to Hank's pitcher's bloody nose. Your sense of humor is so god awful funny. It is why your stories are so addicting to me, and I will always want more.

Calvin is so adorable, I hope both he a Daisy live a full life! Hank's team were much worse than just assholes. Trash talk is offensive in a game for fun, but hitting the bat against the helmet, then deliberately trying then succeeding to take a player out is beyond the pale. I do think Calvin would forgive Donovan for giving the pitcher a bloody nose. Donovan has some legitimate issues with what happened, but taking them out on Shane stepped over the line. At least Shane knows he deservers what he got from Donovan. The tension and excitement of the game was skillfully written and so true to life. For the record, you dissed my alma mater, but I will forgive you. 😉

It is obvious from all your books, beginning to last book, that your talent for stirring up your readers' emotions comes naturally to you. The humor and twist in this chapter were perfectly written. Proof is in the comments it has generated. I loved and laughed during the whole show and tell with the heads bobbing back and forth between Donovan and Shane. Shane's taking his shirt off to present evidence was killing me as I laughed so hard. These guys are a riot! It's almost like reading a Laurel and Hardy movie. The pictures you create with words are so vivid.

Shane's dad is an asshole, so we know from which parent's genes he inherited his personality. For someone so intelligent his social skills IQ is well beneath average. An awkward gentlemanly jock would definitely score higher with Donovan that Shane. I liked the ideas presented by other comments about things Shane can do to improve his standing with Donovan. Although I feel a bit uncomfortable about using the kids this way. Maybe Shane should draw a picture of Donovan pitching or batting at a game, then give him the picture framed, with a very serious apology for past behaviors. Shane at least remember when and how he messed, even if he doesn't know Donovan's real name, yet. I liked the different POV. That doesn't help Shane, but does answer some questions I have had about why he is a first class Arby.

Hypothetically I think Donovan should go to Mully's. I need a humor fix.

Shane is oblivious to how deep a hole he has dug for himself, if he thinks one night of seeing stars sex will change Donovan. He does have some resources he can use besides his body with Da Butt! I think his teammates as well as the other members of the DONNAS would gleefully help him if he asks nicely. (I suspect the DONNAS would like to see Donovan off the market and no longer competition.) Maybe they can all chip in to pay for charm school lessons for Shane. Donovan's night of the stars will probably haunt him in bed each night...before he goes to sleep. That should soften up Donovan enough to appreciate Shane's gentlemanly nature, should it ever make an appearance. To paraphrase the great Tina Turner, Mrsgnomie doesn't do anything nice and easy, she does them nice and rough! (I had Proud Mary playing as I was reading the chapter.)

I'm staying out of this one. It's too dangerous to try to rescue him from the pool of sharks currently after him. 😬
