This is a beautifully written chapter. I believe you when you say narratives are hard for you to write, but I also remember all the wonderful narrative chapters you have written in so many of your books like Sidewinder, Larkspur, Boundaries and Morningstar. These chapters pull me into the setting and create a mood or trigger memories for me. Reading your beautifully poetic descriptions of nature and the human spirit is always a delightful experience. I would say more, but it is easier to simply say I agree and loved the comments of @84Mags, @FanLit, @Mancunian, and @Albert1434. They spoke eloquently of the nuances of actions, characters and situations. Thanks for another excellent chapter!

Sounds like a spoof on "Murder On the Orient Express". Everyone participated in the murders except for Hercule Poirot. I love this movie! I read the book and was a bit disappointed some parts were left out, but the all-star cast, cinematography and location were awesome.

Charlie and Michael are new characters. I agree, it was easy to get used to them, and I immediately bonded with them.

Hi Lee, Glad to see you found this story. Don't worry that you joined in the middle. This may be part of The Boot universe, but it is a stand-alone story. If you like the characters and setting, you can find their stories in some of the other The Boot and Lost Soul series of stories. I hope you will like this story.

That is the silver lining, but I remember clearly all you said about the twelve atmospheric rivers that dumped tons of snow on you last year. I thought you'd like some relief for at least one year.

Christian lost my respect for some of his past behaviours and now has gone too far. I can only hope his actions against Pierre will be brought to court and justice will be served.

I do hope Caleb can take Huntington down. Whatever happens, it's going to take planning. I think that will start when Sebastian reviews the information brought back by Caleb. I hope they can determine where Asa is being kept. I do wonder if Asa and Caleb can mind speak with Asa imprisoned in the room/building or if that is somehow blocked. One thing I do think Caleb should do is see if he can use his new powers to create offensive weapons to use against Huntington and maybe some tools needed to help Asa escape.

I like your thinking @weinerdog! It fits what Enya and Sebastien were saying about Huntington trying to gain homecourt advantage. Huntington did capture the more skilled Asa, but I think he may have underestimated Caleb.

Leonard has arrived, but he does need to relax. That will happen as he gets to know Greg better and forms a bond with him. The discussion was a great way to learn more about the political and social structure of vampire society and Greg's current place in it. The accident was surprising but also shows the support Greg is getting from those around him. His friends deeply care and show their concern and loyalty to Greg. The hospital rules are strict but aggravated me because they are so inflexible. I am glad Greg was able to use his ability to get around this situation.

Crispy Pork is in many Thai dishes. It's pork belly with the skin still on it. It is deep-fried to be served as a snack or ingredient in another dish. The fat gets puffy, and the skin is extremely hard.
