  1. Me? A tease? Nah......just sometimes the mating dance can be a little longer for some more than others! Glad ya liked the music. It's definitely a part of the story line, giving clues to the emotions at play on the dance floor. Thanks for the review!
  2. Or maybe it's a combination of factors....with Mom gone, Dad is all they've got left to hang on to.....and despite the fact they're away at college, they're still his boys. Emotionally they may not be able to let go of him.Hang on...there's more coming, and it may clarity some issues for you! Thanks for the review!
  3. The bond between our two heroes keeps growing...and that's a good thing! Terrifyingly realistic chapter--damn fine writing!

Thanks for the kind words, Cole! Barry is definately an interesting character to me, headstrong/confident, but not obnoxiously so and remarkably endearing; Dave, the strong/silent type normally, but open to talking about himself and his feelings when he feels a comfort level with the guy to allow it.Probably the nicest compliment is that you'd love to meet and do beers with them--glad that they come across as interesting and realistic guys! Thanks for the comments--means a lot from a wordsmith like you!

    Chapter 8

Like everyone else, loving the interaction between Clem and Ash, and can see 'em running into Nate at the rodeo. And the rodeo itself provides the intensity/high energy that both of them will use to their advantage! Clem and Ash as so great together, and despite Ashlee's confidence and flirtation, the interest and romance he's got for Clem comes through loud and clear. Damnation! The rodeo needs to get here soon! Good job.
  6. Thanks CNJ! Glad the story is keeping your interest--but be aware, there's gonna be a chapter coming where you won't be hanging on by your nail...you'll be biting 'em! Thanks for following along!
  7. Aw, thanks, Charlie! Glad you're enjoying the story! And yes, the story is copywrighted....it's one of the advantages that GA brings to help fledgling writers like me get established--GA automatically provides copywright protection for us. (Since this is only my 2nd story, I'm learning my way as I go, and the help I've gotten here has been remarkable! Thanks for the kind words, and comments!
  8. Thank you for the review--glad you're enjoying it! Yup, this is an intense chapter, but it help build our character's backgrounds. Thanks for a great--and fun!--review.
  9. Thanks, Charlie! Glad you're enjoying it! There's several more twists and turns ahead--get ready! And these characters have developed their own lives (at least in my head)--at times I don't feel like it's writing, it's more like reporting! lolThanks for the kind words!
  10. You're gonna have a great time here, PMSS! Great folks, lots of good reading across all genres, friendly chat....dive in! And, welcome!
  11. Think you've hit the nail on the head...there's no other option at this point--Barry HAS to hang on, no where to go!Thanks for the review--and the kind words!
  12. Thanks for the comments, Hill!Barry is a complex guy--direct, mostly honest with himself, maybe one of those guys who charges into situations then deals with repercussions after the fact. Glad ya joined the story--you'll be up to speed quickly. And, I try to publish every 5 days or so, so you've got time to get the rest of the chapters and join the story as it occurs. Thanks for the kind words!
  13. We showered, cleaned up, picked up our clean clothes from the front desk, met Jonathan and Greg in the lobby, and headed to Sunday “Brunch on the Beach”. A local hotel set up all their catering outside, including bar, guests encouraged to be dressy but barefoot in the sand. Linen tablecloths and nicer tableware completed a scene under a bevy of umbrellas shading the dining guests. Dave was uncharacteristically quiet all morning, both while we were getting dressed, and even now while we were eat
  14. Glad to have you here, Clares! You're gonna love it here...great stories, good people--you'll enjoy the chats and forum posts as much as the stories! Dive in and have fun!
  15. Thanks for the kind words, Gary! It's been interesting to watch Barry--he's always been direct and decisive, and despite whatever issues he's dealing with, he seems to be able to move without being paralized by the issues. He's definately a man of boldness, and I suspect his moves with Dave were as surprising to him as to Dave--yet he moved on with it all! Thanks for the review!
  16. Glad you're enjoying the story, CNJ! There's far more ahead.....Landfall is coming! Thanks for the comments!

    Chapter 7

Fun chapter! Really liking the way Ashlee and Clem are bonding, romantic but realistically living their real lives (farming, Ashlee's office work) through the blur and heat of romance. And, like others here, suspect Nate is just around the corner, a problem waiting for a solution. Somehow, suspect it'llbe Ashlee who puts him in his place, much to Clem's astonishment.... Good job!
  18. The remainder of the next week falls into the same routine as the last. Dave coaching me in the mornings on my past, pool time after lunch, occasionally volleyball with our Tennessee friends, or other guests who'd checked in and later out, dinner out at night. Occasionally, instead of going to the pool, we'd head out to the beach. Nights spent cuddled next to Dave, or Dave cuddling next to me. Yeah, sounds boring, but after the insanity of my life, actually nice to have some kind of routine. E

    Chapter 6

What an intense scene--and your writing made it come through loud and clear! You did well on this! Now....watching to see how the story progresses.....

    Chapter 7

Helluva medical process--almost as barbaric as some of our current approaches! Hope this works, and his mods help him heal quickly, just to get 'em away from the weasel doc! Good job here!

    Chapter 2

Nicely done story, and although Mr. Reed is hurt, it sounds like he's gonna be ok. But what another opportunity to get to know Phillip! Good job!

    Opening Boxes

Thanks for the kind words, Ben!In addition to what you said, I think there's something that's remarkably freeing in discovering different aspects of your own personality/emotions. You're no longer one dimensional, and get to appreciate all of life, not just parts--and that gives added energy. And we all pick up on that rush of energy! Don't know that Barry will ever be truly "gay"....just that he's gay for Dave. we'll see. And yeah, Dave is a hottie in lots of ways! Thanks for the review!

    Opening Boxes

Thanks for the review, Irritable! As LitLover and Headstall point out, he IS compartmentalized. He has to be at this point to maintain any degree of sanity considering his extraordinary situation. And think he was just as surprised he was having fun on the dance floor as we were! (Some folks have found if they act happy--even if they aren't--you'll become happier, and pull yourself out of depression.) I'm not convinced he'll get over Dave quickly. He's dealing with "maybe gay" and "Dave and me", and has admitted it's not just a gay thing....it's just Dave. It's gonna be interesting to watch, certainly! THANK YOU for a great review!

    Opening Boxes

Thanks for the great review!I think Dave's solidity is the only thing that's keeping Barry from totally losing it. And Barry is smart enough to know when to open a box--and when to avoid opening it. Glad you're enjoying the story!

    Opening Boxes

Thanks for the kind words!I think part of the reason these guys are as solid as they are is that they've had life experience. This isn't a tale of younger guys discovering themselves--it's men who've been through life's up and downs. These characters have taken a life all their own (at least in my head), and I really appreciated Dave's gay maturity to not push for more, despite his long-term feelings. Glad you're enjoying the story! And there are some more twists and turns ahead--get ready. Again, thanks for the gracious review!
