Nicely done....both providing background on the big guy, as well as showing his sense of humor, even if perhaps a bit offbeat. Looking forward to seeing where this story leads--suspect there are a few surprises ahead!

Glad you're enjoying the story so far!Perhaps one thing to keep in mind is that everything is in flux--the eye of the storm hasn't hit yet to bring (momentary) calm to any of the characters. With Barry in "free fall" he's really not had time to deal with all his emotions, and he seems to be able to "box" up events of his life, and go back to deal with 'em later, just like lots of people do. The conversation with his boys had to take place, simply because of their now being in their own form of witness protection. And he's not yet truly assumed his new identity, since he's still Frank up until the trial. The guards? If the Bureau is as gay-friendly as David has experienced, it'd make sense to assign a couple to be together, especially if they're assigned to work in a perceived "gay capital"--or is that just Bureau homophobia hard at work, since other straight agents had refused to work there? Thanks for the review! I hope you'll continue reading; I think you'll enjoy how this all plays out. There are a few more twists and turns ahead.....but hope you'll be pleased.

It's interesting how David's professionalism is slowly giving way to a healthy give-and-take relationship; I think Barry is responding well to that approach. And you're right, Barry is direct, but not brutal. His easy acceptance of Jonathan and Greg's relationship is a great sign of how laid back he is about gay issues.Glad ya liked the story--and thanks for following!

It IS interesting to watch this progression, and how Barry deals with these new feelings. Like you, think when they do get together, it's gonna be explosive! And, there's a few more things in the road ahead they'll get to deal with (yeah, I'm being mysterious! ).Thanks for following the story--and thanks for the review!

Blue green water all around, flashes of white sand—and the jet was dropping like a stone. “Don't worry, a plane this fast can handle an approach like this. We'll be on the ground in a few minutes—and you're gonna love it here. Go ahead and buckle in.” David smiled. Minutes later, after an ultra-smooth landing, we rolled up near a small section of tarmac with a white Suburban parked nearby. Got off the plane, and waiting near the bottom of the drop-down stairway were two more armed security gua

All In Extra--Brad's Demise
Robert Rex commented on craftingmom's story chapter in All In Extra--Brad's Demise
Nicely done writing--you vividly conveyed Brad's false bravado and ultimately fear all the way from his attack in the jail cell up until the end. Well done! -
What a great start to what I'm certain will be a great story! I liked the way you handled the time jumps, and the concise, yet emotional telling of the story. You did well!

Irritable, I understand your frustration with David--but think that offer to step aside for another handler was based on feeling guilty for his momentary lapse of professional judgment (the kiss). David obviously prides himself on his professionalism, and that was a major faux pax! No question that Barry is a criminal--and David has acknowledged that--but David recognizes that Barry has compartmentalized his professional life (the criminal side) and his personal life into separate "boxes"; David is obviously intrigued with the "personal" box. And, you're right--Barry's treatment with a new handler would be MUCH different from what he gets with David, as you'll see in the chapters that lie ahead. Thanks for following the story--and for the insightful comments!

Interesting to me to see how open David is in sharing his past. Is he normally that open, or is he open because of his crush on "Barry"? I like to think he's normally that open. It's great to see Barry been as open to David's personal life, and his gay side--perhaps it's because he'd already dealt with his son's coming out.Glad you're enjoying the story!

Yeah, I'm shocked at his kiss. And, yeah, David is now dragging me by the arm toward the engine-running chopper. All I've got is the clothes on my back. He shoves me on board, then jumps in behind me, slams the door closed, we lift off. “Where are we going?” “We're flying out of Addison airport. It's close, and we'll be up and out of town quickly.” “Where are we going, David?” “Not telling ya, Barry. The less you know at this point, the better for you, and the safer for your boys.” The sono

Can't do anything with Jackie's body—the coroner has it, the exam won't be complete until tomorrow noon. Called the boys as soon as I got in the cop car for the drive home from the police station to tell 'em of their mom's death. Got voice mail for both of 'em, left a message to call me back ASAP. Also sent a text, “Call. URGENT.” It's damn near midnight, and on a Saturday, I'm certain both were out on dates. We're pulling into my drive maybe 15 minutes later when Corey called. He and Trey had
