I'm waking up, cool sheets against my chest. Looking around, it appears that I'm in a hotel room somewhere. The drapes are open and it's dark outside. Bedside clock shows 9:00 pm. There's a human form, I think, sitting on the sofa across the room. Have to blink, try to clear the fuzz off the eyes. “Mr. Evans, you're awake. Good! Glad to have you back.” The form stands and moves closer, turning on the lamp by my bed. “I'm Danny Brock, I'm a paramedic. I'm with the FBI and I'll be taking care of

I've moved on--from the kleenex box directly to a screwdriver. (If the story was later in the afternoon/evening, it'd be scotch.) Damnation, what a tough chapter. Scumbag characters galore--and just when I thought Dad couldn't sink any lower..... I'm keeping the vodka nearby for the next chapter...somehow know it's going to be just as tough a read. Damn fine writing!

Nice, nice, nice. Great to see Matt taking it slowly with Avery. He may not (intellectually) know everything going on, but instinctively he knows to not push Avery--and it's developing into quite the love story! Hate the next two chapters, but this is a nice setup for what I hope will follow the trip--Matt's intercession to protect Avery from dipshit dad.

Finally--a feel good chapter! Loving Avery and Matt's developing relationship! Suspect there are a few more ups and downs ahead, but this provides hope that Avery will have some one in his corner when SHTF. Good job--and a nice break for me from the box of Kleenex!

You could also post it on you profile's status, something like "researching closeted married men and their lives. Any ideas on who'd be willing to talk with me?" That way, everytime you go into chat, or post something, and people check out your profiles you'd be advertising your project. I"ll also shoot some ideas to your inbox.

The eye of the storm is almost always predictable...the results aren't! Was the FBI unprepared for the secure entrance to be blocked? After all, things have gone along smoothly so far....Glad you're following along!
