Zzzzzzz...
To paraphrase Peter Pan, Living among Bzup kind will be an awfully big adventure.
I hope humans don't disappoint them. We have a tendency to it.
Marvelous tale as per usual, Geron.
I believe their society is too integrated to allow the killing of sentient beings except in the most dire circumstances.
Remember weapons weren't used to counter Bzup being brought aboard ship. Would humans have been so discreet?
Jem. Protect Bzup.
Words come easy, but actions speak louder than words.
This is a test. I do think neither Bzup nor Jem are in real mortal danger here, but Jem can't know this for sure. We have seen the ability of the aliens to heal the crewman of the Chregar after the orx attack. It was preternatural and they believe killing is wrong.
Jem is being Jem.
Yes, the connection to Earth being restored and more humans arriving is a blessing and a curse.
We already know the colonistls are hurting for space now. And think about how much humans can change morally and ethically over much shorter time spans. It is rather frightening.
Our new alien friends are planning to hightail it home. Part of their leaving is the lines are restored and part more colonists are coming from Earth. They would have left long ago if they could.
Bzup is sad to be going. Jem will be distressed too. This first contact had leveled out. So much has changed in such a short period of time.
Wasserman is quite literally Water Man. Wasser is water in German.
I found it amusing if you type 'wasserman monster' for search results, nearly all the listings are for the late Lew Wasserman, described as Hollywood's last mogul.
They have arrived at One Ship on their mission to learn. It will be a daunting task to understand Bzup's people.
Since all of the Chregar's crew was unharmed, this should dispell much of the earlier fear of these folks.
