  1. Eva Peron. Haven't seen her dug up in awhile. Did you know old Juan and his second wife kept her body in the dining room of their villa in Spain?
  2. Banzai! The only way to destroy Dufresne is to pull his political teeth. Pulling a shark's teeth is dangerous business. I'm not so sure Dufresne will avoid his habit of using mercenaries.

    The Descent

Adrian brings something FROM the chapel. He's draining Lucien, not feeding him.
  4. Picture Alistair Merrick.
  5. The best news is he was a lawyer.
  6. I know of a guy who went to the hospital due to having a broomstick up his bottom. The end came out through his ballsack. He insisted it was an accident. He didn't want them to come back.
  7. One of my favorite books.

    The Descent

Once you've seen something you can't unsee it. You can try to forget it, but it will still be there somewhere. Eli will begin picking apart the why of Lucien's captivity. It's easy to see Adrian is involved. The impulse will come to feed Lucien somehow. Eli is compassionate.

    The Emptying

It was inevitable. Once he saw the ring, Eli was eventually going to try to see what was down there.
  10. When you try to break things, sometimes the pieces hit you. Or the implement you use bounces back and whacks you. It's the guy throwing the brick to break the shop glass except it's Lexan, the brick whacks him in the head instead.
  11. Vane is a shining example of why unpopular officers are killed in tragic 'accidents' or in action. He's a martinet to both stall and inmates. It's an old, badly maintained place. Easy to fall and Vane is in the statistical target group for fatal falls. Just saying.
  12. Mimes often use caesura in their performances.
  13. They killed Lucy, but her words are out. There can be no criminal trial without a living witness and the jurisdictional issues are tortuous. But good luck getting Andrew off Dufresne's ass. He's a pit bull.
  14. It's priceless.
  15. As I suspected, Harriet is a clever one. She knew about Augie even before he did himself. They have nothing to hide from the two Grans. They have much more land than they expected and money too. Barnswallow awaits.
  16. Never losing the innocent joy of play, sense of right, and strong bond of friendship. It's a redemption story.
  17. The mating. Yes! It's been long enough.
  18. An excellent idea which I took to heart. Went through it and on Larkspur now. (It's a little hard to winnow out. You should connect them as a series, Gary.)
  19. Ataraxia isn't a calm sounding word.
  20. I do find it funny the military was using radio encryption back in the '50's and you could listen to federal agents in the clear if you knew the frequency and had a receiver which would pick it up as late as the 1990's.
  21. Vane was forged in World War I, but he was a monster before then. It just whetted his appetite. This is a man who sent boys over the top at the Somme and called it 'character building.'

    Chapter 26

They forced the shift by nearly drowning Austin. Big gamble, but it did work. Next comes those urges.
  23. Dufresne. He's entirely more dangerous and ruthless than anyone thought. And now he and Andrew are on direct collision paths.
  24. Playing Coy? Oops, wrong story.
  25. Grate minds do.
