    HOME!

Welcome home. Take care of yourself.
  2. Well...the day is coming to a close and the family reunion has ended. This is my first chance to use the new system (It's cool!) and to wish everyone a happy fourth of July. Many thanks to our friends in Canada and the UK who took the time to wish us happy birthday.
  3. I thought you were going to write about frogs!
  4. Having now read Chapter 43, I can see some significance to Eric's inebriation beyond the lovemaking with Jansen. He would not have acted so boldly when he encountered Jerry if he had been sober. The scene between the two lovers in Chapter 42 left a clear indication of Eric's state. Is there significance to the tequila in coming chapters? Well done, goat!
  5. Another great chapter, Cliff! There's no end to the mischief Eric can get into. One more cliffhanger added; none resolved.
  6. Great news! The best thing about hospitals are the exits. Take care. Best wishes for your continued improvement.
  7. If winning AUD 90 million puts you in such a quandary, I would be willing to help. Give me half and I will gladly assume half the burden it represents. If I ever win the Powerball Lottery here in the US...say USD 400 million (about $200 million cash)...I would contribute half to a charitable foundation that I would establish. US tax law limits charitable contributions to 50% of income. At a 35% tax rate, that would leave me with $65 million to live on for the rest of my life. That would probably be enough. I would have a lot of fun investing my after-tax remainder and the foundation's funds and exercising eleemosynary pursuits.
  8. I just did a search to see how many GA members are contributing to keep the site viable. It seems appropriate, even ironic, that at present there are a total of .
  9. I see a difference in Eric's three tequila-enabled gay encounters. The first two (Cody and Brandon) were instantaneous flings occurring after he drank the worm-infested spirits. In fact, the first one was deliberately initiated by Cody. The latest encounter, with Jansen, followed a significant number of preliminaries initiated by Eric. Indeed, the night they spent together may have happened without tequila. The drink may only have made it a bit more frantic than it otherwise would have been. CJ said: If that constitutes a spoiler, it got lost among all the cliffhangers.

Thanks for the update, Robert. Your success in fighting cancer is encouraging to all of us. Take good care of yourself. Mike
  11. I, too, knew a young man who was cutting timber and had a tree fall on him and kill him. He left a wife and baby behind. Glad it didn't happen to you. I have too much time invested in reading Changing Lanes. Just kidding.
  12. There really is some passion in this chapter. And, it is in the dark. In addition to all the other cliffhangers, none of which were resolved in the chapter, we now have . Help is on the way; will it arrive in time?
  13. Cliff James has released Chapter 42 of Changing Lanes..."Passion in the Dark". "We all need to look into the dark side of our nature - that's where the energy is, the passion. People are afraid of that because it holds pieces of us that we're busy denying." ~ Sue Grafton
  14. Some of our youngest members seem to be the most level-headed. What is the soapbox for if not for us to air our disagreements. I may think that what some say in that forum is ridiculous, but I still want to hear what's on their minds. They may be no more than political die-hards, in which case I'm likely to get a little bored. But there is a time and place for everything and the soapbox covers a lot of territory. Let's keep it lively by speaking our minds, not by turning our backs. James, Dan, play nice. Some of our youngest members are watching closely.
  15. Thank you. We had a great day celebrating with our sons and grandsons. I add my best wishes to all the fathers and grandfathers out there. I believe we have at least one great grandfather, too.
  16. Great! You guys really have a lot in common. Dare I say I've never seen a cuter couple of mechanics?
  17. Cool cars, Lacey! Who's the real mechanic, you or Chris?
  18. Happy Birthday, John!
  19. Goat droppings? And that bureaucrat's name! Where does CJ get this stuff? He must spend a lot of time ruminating on the edge of a cliff. This is a good chapter...lots of action and intrigue...but woefully lacking in the resolution of all the suspense. That's what keeps us coming back for more. Thanks, CJ.
  20. Cliff James has released Pushing the Limits, chapter 41 of Changing Lanes. "Basic instincts, social life. Paradoxes side by side Don't submit to stupid rules Be yourself and not a fool. Don't accept average habits Open your heart and push the limits." ~ Enigma
  21. Many thanks to those of you who commented on this topic. To date, 215 have read the topic, so hopefully it has been of some help to a number of people. I wish you peace and love and hope you never have to choose between the two.
  22. Wicked wording, CJ. Very good tongue-in-cheek phrasing. I have a soft spot for humor at the expense of the humorless. Is the janitor's position considered an internship? I also like the new word you used, ignobility...very creative and appropriate.
  23. Thanks, Mathieu. That's a beautiful sentiment.

    Stanford chemo/transplant

Best wishes, Robert. Take care and follow doctors' orders.
  25. It's four, not six; two have deserted. One of the four can't fire a rifle.
