  2. Red_A is correct. Isambard Kingdom Brunel, (9 April 1806 – 15 September 1859), was an English mechanical and civil engineer who built dockyards, the great Western Railway, a series of steamships including the first propeller-driven transatlantic steamship and numerous important bridges and tunnels. His designs revolutionized public transport and modern engineering during the 19th century. Who's next? Red_A?
  3. OK. Here's another tall hat. Who is it and what is his historical significance?

  8. Ever since I was a child, I've had a fear of someone under my bed at night. So I went to a shrink and told him: 'I've got problems. Every time I go to bed I think there's somebody under it. I'm scared. I think I'm going crazy.' 'Just put yourself in my hands for one year,' said the shrink. 'Come talk to me three times a week, and we should be able to get rid of those fears.' 'How much do you charge?' 'Eighty dollars per visit,' replied the doctor. 'I'll sleep on it,' I said. Six months later the doctor met me on the street. 'Why didn't you come to see me about those fears you were having?' he asked. 'Well, eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10. I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went and bought me a new pickup!' 'Is that so!' With a bit of an attitude he said, 'and how, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?' 'He told me to cut the legs off the bed! - Ain't nobody under there now!!!

  15. It seems to me that Frank Tittle and Mike Gonzalez could release copies of the tape to the news media; publicize it like crazy. Gonzalez could give the news media transcripts of Trevor and Shane's sworn statements concerning where and when they found the tape. If played properly, the shock waves would result in an immediate reaction by the other cartel members and they would liquidate Bridget in an effort to keep peace with the other cartels. Treasure Beach, Jamaica would be Bridget's last port of call.
  16. Is it a Picasso, Zombie? Podga, do you know?
  17. I think so as long as the painting and/or the people depicted have historical significance.
  18. I know how that works. I think those who don't "cheat"...who depend on their memory of history to figure it out...will have more fun. Oh, but we do mind, Ghostboy. Do you have another challenge for us?
  19. Link won't open, Zombie. Edit: New link works fine...on my Dell.
  20. I absolutely agree. This is C J's best story ever...great research, character development and exactly the right length.
  21. Interesting observations and I think you are right except for there being ten chapters remaining. Should be no more than two or three plus an epilogue. You are suggesting the goat keeps adding chapters so he can write more cliffhangers? Hmmm.
  22. Fairy, a product of Proctor & Gamble, is a laundry detergent. In the US, P&G's largest selling laundry detergent is Tide. Yes is a product of Reckitt Benckiser.
