I fully support his watching a good BL series. Oddly enough, all three BL series we're arguing about have the same director. He was busy in 2024. But wow what a difference quality source material makes.

I normally don't watch stuff like this. As I've pointed out to Drew several times while watching this particular series, it doesn't feel like something written recently. This actually surprises me that there's been a lack of criticism about this, but it feels like a series that would have been written in the very early days of Thai BL. A lot of what I'm seeing are things that have been pointed out and moved away from in more current series. I've mostly been giving it a shot because it's starring one of my all-time favorite Thai actors, and a couple of others that I really like. What I'm frequently doing though is comparing it with another series currently being released, that is a somewhat similar premise but is in every way a better series, both plot-wise, and relationship-wise. But Drew, just to troll me, is pseudo-arguing for this pretty much terrible series.

Yeah, forget sweet romance stories of how university couples getting together. The only way an ultra-rich handsome Thai college student (who is planning to run some mega corporation in a couple years but is in the medical faculty for some reason) can attract and court a guy he's had a secret crush on for three years, is to stalk said guy and remove all of his financial independence. To the point where he literally buys every business the guy he's into works for, so he can fire him from each job. All the while claiming some exorbitant debt owed, and keeps adding to that debt if the guy somehow makes him jealous. Then when the Stockholm Syndrome sets in, he treats the guy as a child who he can discipline. (none of this is an exaggeration by me at all, I'm just framing it honestly) Stop trolling me Nong.
