Another emotionally powerful poem. A little beauty to an ugly time

Another great chapter. The dinner was very nice and very much what we've come to expect from Kendall's Michael. I don't know if Michael has ever or would ever be so thoughtful and roman tic with any other person. I am impressed with you once again. You have managed to make me - not necessarily like Candy - but at least sympathize with her. She has gone from a vindictive and vengeful witch to a woman who realizes and has admitted that she made mistakes and bad decisions. If I were Michael I'm not sure about how I would feel about being excluded from the ultrasound and the birth but it's at least positive that she wants Kendall there. Kendall taking a video of the sonogram so that he and Michael could watch it together was very thoughtful of him. Another beautiful moment for them.

I haven't read anything by Andrew Todd or Sasha Distan, but I will put them on my list of "to be read" authors/ Headstall's stories are the first ones that I read and started to review and his was the first forum I visited. He always tries to make sure that everyone's opinion is given a voice and makes each and every reader feel like he is interested in their opinion and feedback. I count him a dear friend as well as a respected author.

I like that CJ is having a good time with his friends and still interacting with his uncles and fathers. It is good for the friends to see strong gay men/couples as well and see that success (in life and relationships). I feel for Thiago - losing his brother like that had to be really painful, especially seeing "what could have been". I think politics is trying to claim CJ whether he wants that career path or not. lol. I guess that is a "hazard" of living in Washington and having any interest in politics.

That "Jeepers" thing makes me laugh every time I read about it. Haha. Good thing Jay was thinking enough to keep Mikey's mouth otherwise occupied I am very happy for Benny and "Callie". They were both very lonely in their own ways and now they have each other. I enjoyed reading about Cal's introspection - his realization that Benny never really had friends in the past - and to get past the sting of perceived rejection - was very mature. I think grandparents (and other family) often come up with embarrassing nicknames for kids that end up sticking into their teens or even adulthood. Hopefully Benny will remember to only use that nickname in private

That was an interesting conversation. I sort of get Rob's parents' point about standing up for everyone, not just his brother, but I don't know if it's necessary to force him into an all or nothing scenario with the GSA. Maybe by making him join they are hoping to encourage his protective insinct to become more global?

I'm not generally a huge fan of poetry but your work usually says something to me and this is no exception. I read this and I see someone's face. It becomes personal. Your pen is a powerful tool my friend.

Misunderstandings and misinterpretations can lead to a lot of unnecessary unhappiness. Benny thought Cal was scared of him and Cal thought Benny didn't want anything to do with him if he wasn't a "jock" and the both spent months unhappy because of it. I think Linda and Greg would agree that these two should have listened to their friends a lot sooner. what's done is done though so I hope they can both move on from this and see where this relationship will lead. After all of the tension of their talk, Benny locking the keys in Cal's car broke the ice at least The more I read about Linda the more I like her. She is a very smart young woman.

I think we all agree that you have put into words the feelings we all have. The family and friends we have here can be as important to many of us as those we were born to.

A wonderful and heartwarming chapter Gary. You're right - the boys needed this. Their connection and love is beautiful to witness.

You have to love when doing the right and decent thing also helps your cause. Kendall is a good man and that kindness actually got through Candy's tough shell. Everything he did, from staying with her at the hospital, fixing her car to calling Janine so candy wouldn't be alone all chipped at her anger. I think kendall might be right - candy might be a woman scorned more than she is homophobic. A great chapter about (as Dugh pointed out) about Candy's possible redemption. She has a ways to go, but it no longer seems impossible.

Some good news in this chapter. Tommy has to be thrilled that his ex isn't going to keep his kids from contacting him anymore. I'm not sure what I'd do if someone tried to keep me from my son. Chip lost a lot and he cheated on Matt and he may have lost his kids' respect. He was an idiot - unfortunately not the first or last idiot to make bad decisions. It looks like the family may have grown with some "cousins" for CJ to meet.

Sometimes something good can come out of a loss. My condolences about your friend. I hope that you and your grandmother had a great talk,

Kendall does have a golden tongue (I'm sure Michael would agree ). I think he could talk a vegetarian into buying a steak dinner. He played things exactly right with Candy. He was kind but firm. He treated Candy with respect but made it clear that he wasn't going to be pushed around. The offer to take care of the car repairs was a nice touch that I know came from Kendall's heart and not to win Candy over. That is just who he is. I am relieved for Michael and Kendall. I was becoming concerned for them. Thank you for another excellent chapter Gary

Except for the "going home with a trick" part of the conversation, this is similar to a talk I had with my son at around CJ's age. It would be naive for anyone to believe that a 15 year old boy isn't having sex (or isn't trying to ). You have to make sure your kids know how to be safe in the world and what Cesar and Brett said to CJ was great. I did have a friend back in college who went home with a guy (from a bar) who ended up beating the crap out of him early the next morning when he sobered up enough to decide he wasn't gay. We didn't know where the friend went and it could have gone down a lot worse than a black eye, a split lip and bad drunk sex. CJ did something stupid and after talking to his dads hopefully he has learned something from it. I hope that Tommy's ex does decide to allow Tommy back in his kid's lives. I think it would be great for the kids to have him around (both for his kids and for him and JP). I could not imagine being in my son's life so I am really rooting for a good outcome for Tommy.

I enjoyed seeing this side of Denny and Greg. Greg started from humble beginnings as "the phone sex guy" and has grown in to someone who we really want the best for. It's good that Lee still felt close enough to Greg to talk to him about being gay at that age and that the boy seems smart enough to know that he is going to have to be very careful when he goes to the "club". The bonus of Greg's talk with Lee was that it allowed Denny to hear about Ben. I was impressed with Denny that he was not jealous of the friendship that will probably continue between Ben and Greg. I wonder if it was just the feeling of all of those strange arms and legs around Denny that caused him to panic? It would not surprise me if that is what set him off. I was quite impressed with Lee and Jeff for reaching out to Denny and telling him that he is family too. That would mean an awful lot to an only child (trust me, I know )

I'm with AC on this one. The chapter did show Russ's growth as a person, but also showed a power shift in his head with his twin. Russ always had power and pull in his relationship with Evan - he just never realized he did. One of the many good things about his relationship with Jacob is that he makes Russ see himself and his relationship with his twin in a new light. I would go so far as to say that Jacob's love and encouragement revived Russ's relationship with Evan - with them both being on equal footing with one another. I was also tense when Henry tried to cull Isa from the rest of the group. Isa surprised him by having a stronger maternal instinct than he realized.

Candy is the queen of something - not sure if it's spades I was worried that Candy was going to get greedy and go after more money. Turns out she is just as vile as I gave her credit for. I hope that Kendall comes up with something to keep her at bay and convince her to sign the papers. Maybe the lawyer will be able to give them some good advice. On a positive note - it was great to see Lanny and Janine getting along so well. I think that Janine encourages Lanny and brings out the good in him.

I really respect that Rob is comfortable enough with himself to be able admire a fine ass(et) regardless of who it belongs to. I like the interaction between the brothers. The affection between them is obvious. It's great that Rob wants Eric's opinion on girlfriends because it was obvious by the end that he wasn't with his girlfriend for her personality and if Eric had said something maybe Rob would have smartened up sooner. Great chapter Tim.

Victor is going to love his present I was a little too rushed and covert/closeted when I was with a guy at that age. but Nelson and Eric have what I wish I'd had at that age. The love they have for each other translates to wonderfully intimate physical moments between them that are as sweet and fun as they are steamy. The shyness in the shower was very true to them.
