    Attraction

Frisky? Well, Spicy, maybe. How else to say how the sight and sound of another person can affect you? It is a lyrical experience, and one that sets fire to the heart. Thank you for reading and responding to this.

It has that flavour, doesn't it? But sometimes just seeing and talking to someone can set one's heart racing. It may not rake much....thanks so much for reading these!

    Selection

This center portion was not the sizzle, but the real main course, exactly as you say. Thanks for reading this!
  4. Your laments pour out your heartache like cold water from a bucket. You are neither a past fad, nor bad, and this peer, at least, will not convict you of anything. Your poetry eloquently speaks for you.

    Chapter 27

This was a very lovely and interesting chapter. Jackson's parents are wonderfully supportive; their idea for a present was nothing short of awesome. Fantastic idea. Jackson and Luke can at least talk now. This chapter also rocked for the offhand way in which you easily paint the huge changes wrought in Jackson since the beginning of the story. He works incredibly hard at swimming, he schedules extra practices, he takes at least some relationships seriously. And he can actually think about going to college. I like the way you have created Henry. Poor guy has to live with Cindy. I can try and put myself into her place, walk in her shoes...in her mind, Luke is in real danger of straying into a spiritual disaster. In her mind, she is trying to protect her son from something he should not, must not, desire. But I cannot agree with her conclusions or resolutions. Cindy refuses to look at her son as he really is, instead of at what she insists he must become. Her intransigence could cost them both dearly. These chapters are so well wrought and worth waiting for. Thank you.

    Attraction

Thank you very much for reading this. It's amazing how sensual another person can be just in the way they speak and move. If I gave that sense, then perhaps I succeeded.

Thank you for that! That term summed up so much in my mind in three little syllables. Glad you liked it.

    Attraction

Tempt me with honeyed words, intoxicate all sense and with your grace and artless gait beguile; drive mad my heart by glimpses of your flanks, and shoulders joined to nape, all worshipping your smile.
  9. Yes. Exactly the questions I ask. Why does the fuel that once made conflagrations now sputter? Why is it so different now? How surprised we are by the subtle, organic changes that creep up. Beautifully, eloquently expressed.

Thousands of thanks for giving us CJ and all these characters. You have created a world for us to live in...

    Flirtation

Yeah; that feeling of excitement that plays on every nerve...did I get it right?

    Joanne

This poem is a real jewel. It's metaphor is perfect, like the rosebuds you recall, like the sunlight that suffuses the whole thing.
  14. You scared me with Anxiety. That was written too well, from the inside out. Enlightened felt like the calm returning, even as you express fears and misgivings and the complaints of age. But you are not done, nor ever a has-been. You have way too much vitality for that, my brother.
  15. Sometimes poetry is about anger, sometimes about nature. But here you give me the tears of fear, of reaffirmation, of love. What you give to each other in this radiates hope to everyone. xo
  16. I do! Just forgot to hit the button! Sorry... Last night's piano Quintet was astounding...

    Chapter 1

Each of these bears an intensity and a fire that burns brightly and deeply. Fight, with its common terminal stanza lines, is very effective. And the way Justice strings so many -tion endings together evoked slam poetry. Very well done.
  18. Back at the Music Festival tonight. Program ... Mozart Flute Quartet in D, K285 C Mallonee Butterfly Effect Schumann Piano Quintet, Op 44

    Flirtation

Thanks so much for reading this. Yes, this poem is a bit tangy on the tongue, isn't it? And the words you noted do seem to drive everything else.

I blush at your kind words. These feelings have echoed in my brain for a long time, too. I am glad this poem struck a chord with you, however distant.

Thank you so much for saying that. I, um, took a long time over that word choice. I really appreciate your taking the time to consider this poem.

Wildfires can be born of such things, they are that hot. Thanks for reading.

Thank you, Val. Flirting often leaves the whole spirit in a tremble, doesn't it?

Thanks for taking the time to read Predator. You raise a really good question about Scott. Is contrition enough? I did not want to take the long detour of watching Scott try to make things as right as he can, but the clear implication in the last chapter is that he has been working seriously on it, and doing so on his own hook. Still, it may never be enough, and Scott has to live with that. I am glad you are a sucker for happy endings - I am, too. Love motivates best, perhaps. Thanks again.

    Flirtation

One glance, a smile, perchance, a joke, a wink, a touch, questions with unspoken meaning linger; night thoughts do the work of sweet seduction, truth and wish compounded of flammable craving.
