    Chapter 1

I liked your tribute to April very much. This year, she has been alternately frowning and exuberant. I thought your poem about facets losing their glow without light to be most apt. The riddle in the third poem is excellent. Number four is also enigmatic at first, but that made me reread it. How I wish some students could send their minds ahead as they worked on their proof problems! Thanks for all of these.

    Shoelace

I can relate to the sentiments and images in this one. I’ve felt like a shoelace on certain days. Thanks for posting this.

    Chapter 1

I was hooked at the beginning. You have a knack for building vivid words and planting images in my brain.

    Welcome

Dollar words? I was aiming for credit card words…
  5. Though I selected the weeping response, I cannot help but recognize the hope in some of your Haiku, as in Up in the meadow Beneath the snow white blanket Hope springs eternal and Puddles within ice Give way beneath heavy boots Like winter to spring Thanks again for sharing yourself in these.

    Welcome

I'd say there's a definitely non-zero probability of an interior alveolar ridge metatarsal intersection event.

    Welcome

Jay seems pathologically foolish. He’s got to figure out that there might be more diplomacy going on than meets the eye? Interesting chapter.
  8. April 2 had so many choices! And room for too few. I’m very happy you liked April 4. Thank you so much for taking time over these.
  9. The Scenic Route is bewitching and beautiful. Your observations in Haiku form were like single bell-like notes sounded by a wind chime. I was especially taken by the connection drawn between your hands and your grandmother's.
  10. I could not agree more.
  11. I’m very glad you chose April 15. Who says cake isn’t good for us? It made us all smile that day. Thank you, tim. ❤️
  12. Thank you! I too loved April 4. I’m glad it resonated with you.
  13. I am so glad you enjoyed the three blind mice. That’s it came to me all at once. The haiku were longer in arriving, but they are a favorite form. It was @AC Benus who really showed me most about writing them, and I remain most grateful to him for that. It’s wonderful that these brightened your day. Thank you!
  14. Thank you very much for reading these early April offerings. I can only hope the next days of April inspire me as much as the first half.
  15. Thank you. I hope they were worth waiting for.
  16. I confess to liking April 4 very much too. April can be fickle as March; I’m sorry to hear you got unwonted and unwanted snow. But I’m glad you took time to read these, and doubly glad for your thoughts.
  17. April 1 Some say that April is a jezebel in all affections fickle made and even to those friends who know her well intemperate in mood displayed, but shyly she may show a smile to friend and beau, infrequently although. She enters on the nimbus, unafraid of storm and mighty winds that blow across the calendar from March that flayed the shore, the mountain, and plateau; but through the weary pine she may

I would bet that your closet would yield a treasure trove of poems. Thank you for inspiring this set, and for your most kind thoughts.

    Old Coats

Coats, like shoes, travel many miles with us, either on countless local trips or on unforgettable adventures. I cannot help but remember those travels whenever I put one on. Thank you very much for reading and for your comments.

    Old Coats

That windbreaker has seen its share of deer, constellations and new snow. The parka is almost new, by comparison. I’m glad each of them connected with you in their way. Thanks very much for taking a moment to look through the closet with me, and for sharing your thoughts.

    Old Coats

Thank you for taking time to sift through my closet with me. For me, memory sometimes needs the sensory input of objects to fully bring them alive again.

Each one of them comes with some associated recollection. I agree that some are near impossible to part with. Thanks for your thoughts and for reading.
