November 4 Two days ago, at lunch Wednesday, Terry and Kaz told me about the plan for tomorrow, Saturday. “So it’s going to be easy,” said Terry leaning forward conspiratorially. “Zander’s going to ride with Kaz to regionals on Saturday. Kaz drives back afterwards, and instead of dropping him off at home or at school, he goes directly to Alyssa’s. Surprise!” “While we’re running, Terry’s picking up the cake,” added Kaz. Was it just me, or didn’t anyone else pick out the flaw in this plan?

Week Six Sunday, October 12, 2014: The Visit
Parker Owens commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Six Sunday, October 12, 2014: The Visit
A chapter to remember; a chapter to savor. For David to admit that he loves Twoey is a huge step. He's going to have to get used to not being in control, because if he really loves Twoey, he'll have to give some control up. Can he do that? The day of reckoning when the truth about Danny death and Twoey's injuries comes out has to arrive at some point. Hope it doesn't completely destroy their friendship. -
Andy is torn between wanting to feel included, and the fear of yet another disaster at a party. He feels like a social mess, and he may be right. Of course, he really can't explain can he? There is always the option of withdrawal or flight, but the stakes are so much higher this time....Thanks for your review and for sticking with the story!

Chapter 26 Prompt 15- Rejoice and Already
Parker Owens commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 26 Prompt 15- Rejoice and Already
How hard it is to let go again, and again. To be surrounded and then bereft. You have written it clearly and movingly. Thanks for this installment. -
Don't suppose Dr P could have made a sign mistake somewhere? What a terrible thing to realize.

Glad you liked this chapter. It was fun to write. Zander is definitely getting drawn to Andy; Andy is attracted and scared at the same time. The party for Zander might turn out very badly, and he knows it. Zander is being a typical teenager: committed to so much, and sometimes hard for him to see outside his own little box. He has no idea what's going on in Andy's head, and they're not really friends enough for him to ask. Thanks so much for staying with the story so far. Next chapter is on Sunday!

Thinking too far ahead and who knows what could happen? Andy's track record has not been good. He is surely hoping that his grades will go into the junk mail or returned mail pile, and then nobody will notice. There isn't much he can do about that now. Andy clearly is unhappy with the idea of the party; and after his fiasco at Toby's who can blame him? That you for your perceptive reading, and hope it is enjoyable. Next chapter comes up Sunday!

Inching is the right word, Zander is inexperienced and Andy is wary and both are shy. Very perceptive of you to remark that too much too soon could unnerve either one. But they clearly seem to get along so far, though Andy is the one who is most inexperienced at the whole friendship thing. Zander isn't as dangerous as Andy thought he was....not yet, at least.
-
There is so much for speculation. But the constant is Andy's conditioned caution and wariness. He's been hurt and battered by ill fortune too often to think otherwise. But it has bee fun to write about Zander and Andy's coming together so far. That you so much for reading to this point, and hope you enjoy what's coming - next chapter comes up on Sunday.

Apologies for getting behind. Great stuff, and the explanations aren't turgid or unwieldy. Now the tension builds...there actually might be an explanation that isn't nutty. Thanks!
-
Yup, it's common enough to mail them. Too many kids intercepting their not-too-good marks on the way to mom and dad. And the address thing? Andy really is hoping the lawyer is too busy to read his mail. Who knows if that's going to be the case....glad you read this!

October 30 I spent the weekend cleaning gutters for Mrs. M and doing light housework for the Abbotts. I’m OK with ladders and heights. You just have to be careful. Still, the ladder to get to the second floor gutters at Mrs. M’s is pretty long, and a bit wobbly. I was glad to be done. It’s a nasty, wet job. I can only be happy that the weather was clear and a little warmer than earlier in the month. Is this what they call ‘Indian summer?’ Mrs. Marjorie is giving me winter prep jobs eve

Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Andy will have a while to wait; after all, his journal is only in October yet. But he's had lots of breaks, at least as he might see it. He has at least one friend, maybe more. He has a warming place to sleep, even if the he floor is hard. Two meals a day. And nobody beats him anymore. It's slow growth, but improvement over even six months before, despite being on his own. Thanks for staying with the story so far, and hope you keep reading. -
Forgiveness and Stew 2 poems
Parker Owens commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Forgiveness and Stew 2 poems
May your hearts mend, and your lives again blend; may you be fixed in twain, ever again. Loved Forgiveness, as you can tell. And when I am I invited for dumplings? Great additions to your journal, Tim. -
Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts

Thank you for your review, and for reading so far into the story. Zander, sneaky? Maybe . Of course, he just might be looking for a way to talk with the really shy boy he likes. Undoubtedly there is much ahead for the two of them, but as with som many things, it may be the wary Andy who sets the tempo. Thanks again, and hope your holiday was happy! -
Jacob isn't Jacob, is he? Good to see Zach and Tris as brothers again...

Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Friendship of any kind is totally unfamiliar for Andy. He didn't know what to make of Toby, at all, and I'm sure this is just as unfamiliar. Interesting question about when Zander comes out to his friends...thanks for your review! Happy Thanksgiving. -
Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Those dark clouds never quite leave the horizon, do they? Perhaps at this moment, they are easy to ignore, but it won't always be so. What a pity for Andy, that he can never really be free of them. Thank you so much for reading this story and staying with it this far. I appreciate yr reviews! -
Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
If Andy knew, it might scare him...or thrill him...or both, very likely. But both boys are pretty shy, so it isn't likely Zander would know how to tell Andy, anyhow. Thank you again for reading and staying with this story. Your reviews mean a great deal to me. -
Mom and dad were the ideal, I think. I hope every kid in the same situation can have parents like those. I found that a very difficult scene to write, and it went through a number of edits and re-edits before it ever got anywhere near my editor..,,thanks so much for your reactions and review...

Sorry I missed this one...Zander's gaydar may be pinging away, though he probably doesn't know enough to call it that. Yes, it's almost a relief that they can actually be together for a few moments....thank you always for reading and sticking with them...

Merry Faris and a Happy New James
Parker Owens commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Merry Faris and a Happy New James
Huge "awwww" from me, and a bit of a tear too. And hooray for real trees! Loved the intro, by the way...you had me hooked from the first sentences. Thanks for this installment, I loved it... -
Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Yes. I hope this is a good gift for all the kind people who have stuck with this story so far, yourself included, of course...Andy and Zander can actually manage a short conversation and sit at the same lunch table. In Andy's world, that's earth shaking. And you're right, of course, Andy has no clue about how Zander feels, and right now, they're both too shy to do anything about it. At least Zander doesn't seem as dangerous as before to Andy. The grades getting sent home...you spied that out. No spoilers, sorry, but it will come up again. -
Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Parker Owens commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 31: The Universe Shifts
Andy getting himself sketched was a very hard thing for him to do - harder than he might have expected. Just letting Zander look at him without being able to move or react must have been kind of unnerving. On the other hand, I wonder what It must have felt like for Zander?
