    Aquinas Leaps

The story made me feel so happy to write, I enjoyed every second. There will be another to go with it, soon. Thanks for reviewing!
  2. The clouds are building on the horizon. Twoey and Lanni? David will have to exercise all of what self control he possesses. And Erik and Twoey with feelings for each other? How is that going to work out? I wonder if Twoey will wind up becoming the toy-of-the-semester for a lot of people, only to find out he's also blown up whatever connection he had with David. It would be an education - of a sort - for Twoey, but would pretty much kill his social chances in that small town. That would be tragic.

    Wrong Help

Poor Eric seems to miss his chances at help frequently. But as Tim pointed out on the forum, kids on the run don't often trust adults. In fact, they may take a long time to trust anyone. It's also interesting to note that many, many churches open their doors to AA-type meetings at all hours. That Eric found one such place is not completely surprising.
  4. I chuckled. Then I smirked. Then I just broke down and laughed. Awesome and spot on. Thanks for this one!
  5. Whoa. So Adam finally gives it up to Kevin. And he enjoys it. But the real question is what kind of denial will he have to go through to live with what he enjoyed so much? How much of himself is he willing to forswear? It's not going to get better. Well done, and built carefully. Looking for more.
  6. It is a huge shame but a necessary one that Tom finally made the break with Robbie. The reader really feels Robbie's heartbreak, and you describe it well. Interesting new vibes from Daniel and new schoolmates add to the sense of re-establishment that is a strong undercurrent to this chapter. Thank you. Waiting for more.

    Wrong Help

Exactly. Completely other sort of support group meeting. Poor Eric/Stefan has no idea of what is going on, and the AA members really see him through their own eyes - and he's too scared and untrusting to set them straight. Have known something like this in actuality, though not as tragic.

    Wrong Help

June 13 Town again. Another little city on the river. I haven’t made up my mind yet if I want to try staying here for a while or not. I’m out of food. I’m out of water, too, which is one reason I looked for a place to crash in a town. Although my stomach is gnawing away at my insides, I won’t make the mistake of testing out the dumpsters again. Tonight, I’m staying in another church – this time the First Presbyterian Church of Marshall. I’m hiding behind a big pile of children’s toys and baby
  9. Stefan/Eric has had an adventure. About the best thing going for him right now is his invisibility skill. But it's unlikely that he can keep this up; hunger will do that. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
  10. Tack så mycket för detta. Your work was worth it! It's lovely.
  11. I really like CJ's interest in the two kids who need a scholarship. Good for him. The development of what happens with the new boys - Paddy, Chipper, Brett - is also intriguing, and followed along nicely. Thanks for the 2nd post this week....
  12. Thank you so much for reviewing A to Z. This is a sad story, though there are sunny breaks from moment to moment. But he hasn't gotten to the point where he just gives up. He's not ready for that. And even though he might find someone to care, it's not at all certain that he would trust that someone.
  13. Wouldn't though? He's existing, but not living. He can watch, but the world is too dangerous a place right now to reach out to and trust. I think mowing that woman's lawn in ch9 must have taken a lot out of him...

    Chapter 11 -

This is the kind of situation that gives mathematicians and game theorists nightmares - or helps them write their PhDs. But that Gary finally decides on being true to himself and emerging from the shadows on his own terms will make him stronger and happier in the end. That his parents will support him makes the reader breathe a sigh of relief. One wonders if Luke or Chris would have taken him in had they not done so. Jason will be the only one going to Korea. It will be truly interesting to know if he comes back with honor, or whether he will have added to his already considerable pile of regret - so much so that collapses on top of him someday. You have written so very well, and this is a great chapter.
  15. June 6 I had a rotten night last night. Dreams and memories stalked my rest. I dreamt that I was doing laundry back in the basement at home. In the dream, Uncle Ray suddenly materialized, pinned me down and tried to force his way into me. Suddenly, in the dream, Dad appeared, grabbed me around the neck, and dragged me off to be chained up. The place was supposed to be our basement, but it wasn’t. It seemed colder, and blacker. I knew I was going to be beaten, and I could hear Dad cracking a
  16. Another grand chapter, SD. This is a most enjoyable story; fun to watch it unfold. As long as David can pass off the shrink as 'anger management' he could probably get away without too much drama and fuss. It may even toughen his image, some. Interesting to listen to his private thoughts concerning Twoey and Sam; and of course about how little he suspects about what Gary is trying to do. Wonder what Twoey the 'prime beef' is in for when he asks someone to the dance. Dances have a way of turning dramatic sometimes. Many thanks for this. Now hungering for another helping.
  17. Gentle, deft, describe your perfect sense of place, time and meter. Again, I am humbled.

    Houghton

Stefan/Eric could use some luck. P.G. Wodehouse described luck as a puppy that scampers off into the woods for a long while, then reappears at unexpected moments out of the underbrush; I suspect this will be true for Stefan/'Eric, too. The principal of his school was seeing what he wished to see, not the facts before him. Clearly a man who pays lip service to acceptance but is at best discomforted by it. I've known these people.

    Houghton

Houghton seems okay, doesn't it? And Stefan/Eric has resiliency built in somewhere. Maybe innate, maybe just plain stubborn humanity. The spark of humanity exists in him, too.

Thank you for the review. Stefan/Eric gets a chance to see the world for himself and through lenses less colored by the horror he has been through now. The fireflies were a chance for discovery that could' be missed.

Thank you so much for your forthright reviews, and for sticking with the story thus far. Stefan/Eric is definitely on a journey now, and for as long as the authorities let him slip under the radar. It was very dark before, and now perhaps there are some breaks in the clouds. More to come...
  22. Well written. The interaction in sex is important; it's not all panting and groaning. But I agree with the others - how will it play out in the morning?
  23. Oh, my. Yeah, the hook is set, and the line is taut. But who got caught? This chapter is beautiful. The popcorn bit is perfect, and the confusion in Matt's mind between what he though and the reality of his attraction to Parker is excellent.
  24. So the Starship Enterprise helps Matt explore new worlds? Cool. Hope the movie goes well...
  25. Now the hook is taken - and set. Has Matt been well and truly caught?
