  1. That made me laugh me and smile. Thanks for the great way to end my day!

    Chapter 1

Sniff. Beautifully told, and with a great extra zap when we learn who Luke is. This is a great tale. Thank you for letting us see it.

    Chapter 13

The sex between Dorian and Felix is undeniably hot, incredibly so. The worries that drive Dorian are going to become unmanageable, though, and what will happen to the pair then? The blown cover, the deadly child trafficker, the PD politics, and the nosy, nosy mother - none of those are going away. I'm just afraid one or all of these are going to blow up in their faces. And then there is a nasty, sneaking suspicion I'm having....
  4. Drew - great first chapter. I loved the way you described how you felt the need to be invisible. Please. Someday, write some more?

    A Journal

Thank you for reading this. I really appreciate your review, and your reactions. Writing journal entries is very hard sometimes, as I am not a natural diarist.
  6. I love this. I read it, and re-read it. And while I feel sad in the reading, I also feel the chance for something new. You have given me something very lovely here. Thank you.

    Work

Someone who knows about stacking bales! I am showing my age as I remember this dying art, as hayrolls are becoming the norm. But many farms still use the old square balers. Eric has finally caught a break, and for once is willing to try to trust...a little.

    Wanted

Hot and spooky, what a combination. That's incredible, Tim. Thanks for the treat!

    Work

No spoilers here, but for once, Eric seems to have found someone who doesn't scare him off. At least Eric will get to eat predictably.

    Work

For the moment, Eric is safe and fed. No road to take, no mountain to climb. Farm work is hard work, and that may be the next big test. In any case, I hope this was worth the wait...

    Work

JUNE 26 This is going to sound incredible. I am having trouble believing it myself. I have a job. On a farm. Which means I have stopped running for a few days, at least. And my employer hasn’t yet figured out that I’m just not that bright, that I’m not who he thinks I am, and that I’m sleeping in his barn. When that happens, it will be time to run again. But for now, I can rest. By the second morning after my encounter with Trooper Lockhart, I’d gotten pretty well lost in the haphazard maz
  12. David now gets to stew for a while; maybe a long while. Twoey - well when he wakes up (assuming he does), life is going to be very, very hard. Still wonder about how David is going to deal with him in the aftermath. And where is the media circus in all this?
  13. Alas, it doesn't get easier, at least not for some time. Stefan's father is a brute and a tyrant; Stefan has been cut off from anyone who might be good for him. I beg you to keep the faith with Stefan, though it will take a while for things to turn for him.
  14. Sing, Sing, Sing, by Benny Goodman.
  15. Here is yet another post. And 143 = 144 - 1 = 12^2-1 = (12+1)(12-1), a moderately interesting difference of two squares....
  16. I'd like to recommend "About Carl" by DIogenes, posted on GA. It's great writing, and a heartfelt, elegiac, bittersweet tale. Worth reading just for the descriptions and mood.

    A Short Ride

Eric got himself hurt again, and he blames himself for it. How awful is that? I think it will take some safety and some kindness - in more than a few isolated doses - for him to trust a little more. And even then, Eric's stubborn wariness is unlikely to bend much. Thank you so much for keeping up the weary walk with Eric over the mountains. He needed our company. And you're right: maybe something better is waiting for him somewhere...

    A Short Ride

You are so good to keep reading. Eric's sad life so far isn't very pretty, and he needs help and care. Maybe next time... I appreciate your reviews, and look forward to them.

    A Short Ride

JUNE 23 I got up yesterday as the birds started up their singing in the half-light just before dawn. I stretched and tried to stand. It was hard not to stagger in the soft, yielding piles of leaves and weeds and grass clippings. It was light enough to make my way to a little creek that meandered at the bottom of the short, sharp ravine I’d fallen down the night before. Before long, I’d followed the stream down to a bridge and from there to a road that led out of town. I’d outrun and shaken of
  20. Great Halloween chapter. Lots of great parallels here. Won't quote them all, you know them yourself. Thanks for this!
  21. Tim: I love Alone In A Crowd. I've been there, and know how it feels. You did justice to my feelings, I can tell you. Truth: I want to argue with you! It'll be fun. Well done - the poem brings that out of me. And Peace? I want to give you that, if I could. All three are wonderful. Thank you.

    Noticed

I don't blame you for needing time between chapters. This is a dark, dark story, at least for the first block of chapters. There will be light, as some of the reviews later on indicate. But that will be longer in coming than poor Stefan would hope.
  23. 1. I weep for Danny. As David reflects, he left so much behind, so much undone. 2. I weep for David, who lost someone he deeply cared about - and still cares, too. Who will help him with that loss? His friends? Tommy? Maybe even his parents? Pray the parents can be humane enough not to sit in judgment. 3. I weep for Twoey - not only for his physical pain, but for the horrible pain he will endure as he comes to terms with Danny's death and his part in that event. Who will help him to feel something other that guilt and responsibility? And for all the families and friends touched by tragedies like these - and there are too many - I weep. A monumentally well written chapter.
  24. A splendid ending to the Autumn section. I've enjoyed following CJ and the big cast of characters through their lives. Unsurprised by Rashid's decision, and it's probably the right one. Delighted that CJ is official. Brett and Cesar can officially spoil the boy rotten, though perhaps their smart enough not to do so. Wonderful to see CJ developing and leading and becoming. Autumn in a pivotal year. Actually makes me look forward to winter! How does our boy handle one of those paralyzing DC snowstorms?

    Love Bites

Oh my goodness, what a chapter. You really pulled off the wrestling match well. Beautifully done.
