Hi Sasha. There is so much I want to say after finishing chapter three. First, you are four for four on Ink Boys as far as I'm concerned. Apprentice is another terrific story! I am always impressed how you seem to know what to tell and what to leave out to make the stories flow. And especially in your short stories nothing seems to be missing. I loved Kip, and the Brick and Tenth crew, and the romance with Niels. I was rooting for Kip almost from the first sentence, and how nice for him to end up with a job he's excited about, a good boss and colleagues, and a romance with a nice guy. Guess that focus paid off. After all the gushing I do have a question and a suggestion. I was unclear about Niels' shoulder bandage. I assume a tattoo, probably by Oom. And I suggest an epilogue so you can clear that up for me...

A good resolution showing growth for both Corey and Jason. Another thank you for this enjoyable story. I am anxious to see how you wrap it up in the epilogue. Jeff

One more time I'll say it. Good story. Good characters. Moving forward in mostly good ways. Love Emmett's family. Based on an earlier response to one of my comments we readers will have several more chapters before there is closure. So I have to ask what roadblocks are you devising to keep these two apart. My thought is Jian's family. Hmmm. I'll try to be patient and avoid name calling, but it will be difficult.

I am enjoying how this story is progressing. Kip is a very appealing character, and the supporting cast is terrific! Even Jon is a good villain. He and his motivation are realistic. There are jerks like him in the workplace, unfortunately. And I assume there is still time for him to mess things up. I hope you don't get tired of hearing it because I don't get tired of saying, "Thanks for a great story." Jeff

I am curious if you have experience being part of a football team? I have never understood the harshness you often see in coaching. I wasn't even close to being an athlete, but my daughter played soccer and basketball. I was always interested in the different approaches by different coaches. Your story is sucking me in. The muses must be tap dancing on your lap top. You have been prolific lately, and every one has been a winner as far as I'm concerned. This story was another great snapshot of a bit of time and a couple. I got to know them a bit and enjoy the moment with them. It never ceases to amaze me what you can do with a short story. Your skill at writing realistic conversations is amazing. There are other authors here that do it well, but you always seem pitch perfect. Good conversations between Owen and Carlos, and between Brett and CJ. Also loved all the familial interactions. Will Lourdes ever realize all the damage she's done? It seem sad that she is so self-centered she can't see what she's done/is doing to her children. I liked the comment from Richie about CJ. It makes me think he won't influenced by his Dad or Mom in a negative way. And will you please give Olga a big hug from me. What a loving grandma. Just read chapters one and two, and it brought back memories. My baby is 31 and it's been awhile since I've dealt with young children. My heart goes out to Alan and Peter. They're about to experience a big learning curve. Thanks for a good start to this interesting story. Jeff

Just found your story, and the introduction hooked me. This doesn't seem like it will be a typical dystopian society story. I like your main characters. Both are feeling pretty real already. Being a generation removed from farm life (my Dad wanted to be a city boy) I also like the farm angle. I look forward to reading more. Thanks. Jeff
