    Epilogue

Great story, I love that life has gotten easier. When I was in HS no one was out - I was sure I was the only 'freak of nature' there. Many years latter I accepted myself as not a freak but 'differently normal'. Ive also come to find out many others I went to school with were in the same boat I was. Oddly 20 years after the fact I even dated my secret HS crush. Reality doesn't always measure up to fantasy and though. Really nice guy not the ones for each other. I do love reading contemporary pieces that capture what it should be like or maybe even what it is like now. Someday we can just be who we are and love who we love and people will just be happy that there is love. ( I still believe in Santa Claus too )

    Chapter 1

A lot of story in just a few words. Know some of the tears were sad ones but think a few happy ones slipped out as well. ( Loved Heaths reaction )

    Chapter 26

Great story but there is still alot to of loose ends. Found this when I saw Book 2 so I know some of the answers are waiting. Hopefully one of them is Eamon saves Luca and they too fall in love that's only half there at the moment
  9. Great ending to a great story.

    Home Again

Amazing the way you've woven this story. I am rooting for an outcome, guess I'll see what you decided. Will say after last few chapters Im looking for a pitchfork and a torch to go Erik hunting....
  11. Loved the first story in this series. Im happy to find it continiung here. We cant ever have to much of the hope and love these stories give us.
  12. very much enjoying this story. I love this line especially: ‘People like that are never happy running only their own lives – though for most of them, you could probably just end the sentence after ‘happy.’ It really is the root of so many problems.
  13. Great story, did leave me wanting more adventures of this band of merry mages. Hopefully one day there will be a 'Book of Heroes III'
  14. Wonderful story , not sure how I missed finding it sooner. Lot of twists in the story kept me wanting to find out whats next. Ive read some of your work before, just not sure it was on this site. Now I need to go look at whats on here to see what other gems you wrote that Ive missed
  15. Ive enjoyed adventure stories of this nature since I was very young. With the popularity of Lord of the rings being revived by the movies I'm surprised there aren't more reviews of this story. I found very touching emotional moments woven into a great story with the depth to capture me in its web. With evil and good wizards and the unexpected hero battling to save a world makes great adventure reading, I am really looking forward to where the rest of this story goes...

    I've Changed ...

    Great story. Please keep writing!
  17. Im old enough to understand alot of that history. Even have fond memories of white bell bottoms and patent leather shoes with 3 inch heals ( another 1.5 inches inside - hey Im short!) and dancing. I was closeted so some of it I lived diff, but can relate to how in the disco no one cared guards could be relaxed. Decades later I was talking to a friend who was in charge of a nearby county health dept. Always puzzled me that we were the Baby boom generation - where are all the men our age? Answer was sobering - Dead he said , our generation was one of the worst hit by AIDs before they had treatments.. Ive said on other reviews that even though these are works of fiction, they also preserve a certain part of gay history for the younger generation. We all should know the culture and history. Wonderful job of presenting a piece of it for those who came later and those of us who lived it differently. ( Me I was busy listening to Anita Briant, talk about the cure for gay and hoped it was real .... duh!)
  18. Great story. I read this and 'Landfall' in the wrong order ( both great stories) I worked out though after meeting Rex and Joe in 'Landfall' was nice find out they're story too.
  19. After the last chapter, I considered hate mail I know its not the name you gave this chapter but Im gonna think of it as 'Authors Redemption' The way the story went also shows just how deep Barry's love for his sons goes. Though losing both parents quickly is hard on them, it frees them to live they're lives as planned and get to keep each other. The original protection idea did mention even they would be separated from each other and that the directions of they're future plans would be forced to change. Though seeing the they're father killed violently was rough, they would have lost each other either way. At least this given time lets them move on and on the paths they were headed. Great sacrifice of fatherhood that trying to make them ok came first.
  20. great story. I love to read gay fiction, very drawn to mystery/adventure and history type stories. Noticed on the bottom of a prev chapter that this is an early work of yours. Glad it is as that means you've had time to write the next one Im going to read ... Sort of backwards but get Barry's shift in orientation. I 'label' myself gay now - spent a lot of years dealing with confusion over the whole sexuality thing. Younger in life intended to be single vs deal with it and met the only female Ive ever had feelings for. That lasted 15 years ( during which I didn't much question sexuality), after a divorce starting life over I decided to check out the path I hadn't traveled. Cant see being with anyone non male ever again. Does though help me get why Barry can having been fine where he was until he explored the other options.

    The Way Home

The more of your stories I read the more I get why so many list you as one of the best. I found my self riveted, frustrated, moved to anger, moved to tears, even laughed at some points. Were points I wanted to walk away. At one point I read patiently trying to figure out how you were going to break Seth and Rory apart so that Luke & Rory could become a couple. It didn't happen and yet I was left feeling better with your plan for things than my own. I hope you never stop writing. Here or published books doesn't matter just never stop! Gandma's gentle but no so way of getting Rory to see his truth on the plane as pure genius.

    Best Laid Plans

Love this story, lots of emotional tugs in all different directions. Although I do have to question the twisted author - Shakespeare in Klingon! Blaspheme!!!! (maybe 'Julius Caesar' but still ) lol

    Epilogue

Great story, Im clueless when it comes to Australian football, but still enjoyed the story a lot. I was more about teamwork and what matter and doesn't really in the bigger picture.that said I was rooting for the leopards to win and they did. The premier, or the life long bond they formed - either way they won! I was slightly disappointed though that Cockroach didn't get stuck to a sticky trap or something, though it did play to how life is. ( someday we get to say how it was..)

    Chapter 52 The End

Great story and fun too, even if I feel a little like a bug under the microscope about now
  25. Beautiful story, Love the style of a journal and loved even how it played back into the story itself. Perfect light coming from near total darkness. Also a tribute to strength we find when faced with adversity. You wrote about some very rough topics and wrote them with and understanding of the non physical pain of abuse. I hope it comes from a perception and compassion and not from experience. Thank you for this work, it moved me in many ways but left me feeling good at the end
