  1. Thanks for sharing this. I love to hear about what happens elsewhere.
  2. Happy Sunday and International Women's Day...Have a good one! In other news... Well...the alarm went off this morning. Yes, we still have an alarm ... one of us still works and likes schedules. Every day. It was 8:30am.. Except when i went into the kitchen, the clock said 7:30am. I said, what is going on? Did Michael use his early soccer game alarm? Did the time change? Was that today? Sigh.... Turns out it was. I had no idea… i thought it was next week. Surprise, tim. LOL.
  3. Sure. After all, if we're all dead, who is gonna say i'm wrong?

    Chapter 1

You're kind. There shouldn't be a period after gone. I should learn to reread things... As much as you want your partner to be happy after you're gone, they are not immediately okay. The space that remains is a constant reminder.
  5. Haha, aw. He's prepared ...lol. I know we say it every year, but enough now. British Colombia just ended DST, Saskatchewan did it in the 60s. Ontario says we need to wait for QC and New York. Why? I'm sick and tired of hearing we need to wait for everyone else. The world ain't gonna end.
  6. It was cool. I've never seen it before. At first it looked like blowing snow, but there was no way that was possible. I'd never seen that before. I hope you get to see it. And i wore my lightest jacket too. It was so warm out.

    Chapter 1

This is true. As much as you want your partner to be happy after you're gone. They are not immediately okay, and the space that remains is a constant reminder. Thank you for reading.
  8. Thank you for your reading skills, suggestions and thoughts. You and @kbois helped make this story all that it is. ❤️
  9. Went out for a walk this afternoon...and saw something kinda cool. It seems it's called sublimation. Here's the explanation, this occurs when snow or ice turns directly into water vapour (gas) without melting into liquid water first. While usually invisible, under the right conditions, you can see this "vapour" (technically, a mix of very cold air and tiny water droplets) rising from the snowbank, often looking like smoke or steam. I've never seen it before outside, and of course, i did not bring my phone with me.

    Chapter 1

Thank you, my friend. I hope you enjoy the rest of this story.
  11. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Thank you. A writer cannot ask for much more when readers tell you they are moved by something. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.
  12. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

You will see more of Leo. Stacy is very sweet and a good friend and we will see more of her too. Thanks, Reader. ❤️
  13. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Thank you. When Danny died, i couldn't move for days really. I'm not sure how Lonnie finds the will to do anything. But there's more to come. Thank you for reading, Parker. xo

    Chapter 1

The same to you, chris. I'm sorry, i missed replying to your comment earlier. Thanks for your thoughts. Moving on isn't easy, you 're so right.
  15. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Not sure how i managed to not reply to you. I'm sorry. I appreciate you reading this and sharing your thoughts.
  16. Happy Saturday...thanks for reading this. I posted the poems i wrote for the antho today too. Part two of The Scallopini-ed Mayor will post in the next while too, once it's all edited and fixed up. That was fun to write... it may become a little series of supernatural cases. Have a good day, everyone. Thanks again.

    Chapter 1

I agree. There is no right or wrong way. I'm not sure if Lonnie's way is good or not, but we'll find out. Personally, I think he's crazy for opening a new store. Thanks for reading!
  18. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Lonnie's grief was both easy and difficult to write. I appreciate you reading this. I don't know about my range or style. I just write what's in my head at the time. Then i'm grateful that a few of you trust me and read what comes out. So, thank you for that.
  19. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

i often have trouble with tags, i have a hard time finding ones that say what i want to say. You're will hear more from Leo. And that's true, guilt and grief are often siblings. You're right on both counts.
  20. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Thank you for your comments. This story is complete and edited (that's the only way i roll). Next chapter posts on Monday. Lonnie's journey is an interesting one, I think.
  21. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

This one of those stories that was a surprise to me as well. I began wanting to write a funny love story, it didn't really end up that way. Thanks for reading.
  22. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Wayne. Waking up each day without that person is hard. Time brings us some peace. I hope Lonnie will find that too. Thanks for reading.
  23. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

You're right, and that crossed my mind as i thought about this story. Lonnie, i think, is trying to outrun it, at the moment.
  24. Mikiesboy

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Michael. Grief is that sharp recently chipped off rock, times smooths the jagged edges into that smooth one. xo
  25. The Shape of What Remains Chapter One It was weeks after the funeral, the morning after the will was read. I was sitting at home alone. I was dozing off, but I had the oddest feeling Leo was there. He was saying that I'm strong enough to go on without him. That frustrated me, and I yelled at him, demanding to know how easy would it be for him to get along without me there? "I am getting along without you, Lonnie. I don't like it, but there's no choice, is there?" I turned
