  1. You too. I hope it keeps blowing away for you. Keep warm, have hot chocolate ready!!
  2. The snow has started here, it looks like a couple of inches so far. We will be out shovelling it throughout the day to keep it manageable. Michael was saying he's glad he no longer has to drive in it to rescue idiots that could just not stay home, or were delusional enough to think they had the skills to drive in it with or without a vehicle that was ready for snow. I hated when he was on duty and was out in these massive storms - like a cat on a hot tin roof. He is still frustrated with people who do not do some preparation and decide it's a good day to go shopping after a foot of snow has fallen. I know there are people who must get to work....cops, fire, paramedics, docs, nurses etc. but if you have the option to stay home, do that. Companies should also realize how dangerous it is and allow people to be off, or work from home. Maybe it's time to think of people before money - yeah i know, what am i thinking? When i was at the bank they stopped allowing us to leave early...one snowmageddon it took me nearly six hours (normal time to home was 45 minutes on the bus) to get home and one brave Uber driver who got a massive tip. It's scary out there, and we have to stop pretending it's all okay. People can easily die in this weather (and other massive storms around the world). Oh, btw, happy Sunday. Take care of yourselves.
  3. Happy Saturday. Today i have green peppers to chop up and freeze, cuz i used up my previous supply. I'm going to make Shepard's Pie for dinner ... it's my family recipe and my fav comfort food. Michael loves it too. Not sure what else i may do. I am working on a story idea for the Anthology and thinking about an ending for a story that's at 25k words. If you're somewhere cold, make sure you keep warm and dress smartly if heading outside. I have zero plans to go out over the next few days. We've been warned there maybe exploding trees. That's not as exciting as it sounds, but it's loud.
  4. Haha, that was great, thanks for writing all of that out! Where we live there are no mountains, sadly. I read in a tourist pamphlet once that Canadians spend a lot of time indoors because it's too hot in summer and too cold in winter. I used to ask people who move here from warm places, why? Why would you come to freezing winters and boiling summers? I guess there's more than weather. lol.
  5. omg it is so fecking cold! 10F feels like -16F in the wind.. the heat is on, but not helping much... the inside of the windows were attacked by jack frost. i cannot see outside.. likely for the best. Currently there is a call for some snow on Sunday.. i'm gonna go put my woolies on!

  7. Today is Lincoln Alexander Day in Canada. Mr. Alexander was our first Black member of Parliament (1968), he was lawyer and become Lieutenant-governor of Ontario among his accomplishments.
  8. As long as they are not those 'fast' zombies. Geez, i hate those.
  9. Happy Whatever Day It Is .... i know things seem bad and frustrating, but do what i do and say F That! Sometimes, keeping your world small, is the best thing for your mental health. Eat well, dress warmly (it's howling here and is currently 8F /feels like -15F in the wind) or not if you're somewhere warm and do something you enjoy, don't stare at your phone or social media or the news, just don't ... i have socks to knit! Here's something interesting ...
  10. i'm sorry, Gary. It's not easy, i know. i wish you peace and strength and the same to your friends.
  11. I believe you. White flowers represent innocence. This one is beautiful...
  12. You meant to say, @Wayne Gray is pure genius, right?
  13. It's because i'm pure of heart and, well, you... i'll say no more.
  14. My innocence respawns on a daily basis.
  15. They closed the DVP as well! I think the delays are for flights leaving...i imagine the de-icing is taking a lot of time. Yeah, we've been out a couple of times. Michael said we're getting a snow blower. LOL.
  16. This year's snowmageddon is happening now .. schools are closed, buses cancelled, tons of flight cancellations and delays, Toronto Transit can't. It's still snowing. I guess we are shovelling .. all day. LOL It just means i get to give my man a nice massage later. Have a good one, wherever you are.
  17. You are not alone, fear not.
  18. I want to say have a good Monday, but it's Wednesday, have a good one anyway! I think it's Wednesday.. yes, yes it is.
  19. How to repel invaders...
  20. Do you have a local yarn shop...i'd rather go to one of those, but there is nothing yarny around here, we have to drive or bus it to Michaels. My fav yarn shop is Romni Wools but that's too far to go to so i order online usually. There's Mary Maxim's too, online they are pretty good, but it depends on what you're looking for. I got these for Xmas too.. i am looking forward to making them as well. I can sew and embroider, these are not cross stitch which i don't enjoy doing.
  21. yeah.. i just finished, washed and blocked a little scarf and when i put it out to dry.. Guess what.. Like right near the beginning… a dropped stitch.. Sigh. I let it dry, and this morning used my lil handi tool to fix it as much as possible, and then i used the same yarn to fix it. There's always something. No one will ever see it except me. The handi tool was $3.50 from Michaels.
  22. Have a beautiful day with your family!
  23. Nothing blue here, atm. That's crazy...maybe we'll get some later on. That would be nice. The gray starts to get to me after a while. Knitting helps my anxiety a lot. My fav cast on is the Long tail cast on, it's pretty simple, plenty of YT offerings on that. My fav channels are Arne and Carlos, and KnicoleKnits (she's Canadian) but there are tons of them. Here's my lil cables sample...it's done with light fingering weight, nearly lace, yarn... Michael got me the book and the workbook from Patty Lyons (knitting expert type person) called The Knitting Bag of Tricks.. i'm having fun with that.. the workbook has stickers...fun, right? LOL I hope you take up knitting again. It's fun and relaxing even when things go wrong and they always do!
