So after a lot of figuring it out here is my 'road map':

i liked his reaction too ... Charles is basically asking, 'What are your intentions with respect to my brother? Because Wren, I know what I'd like them to be.'
Charles is who we'd all like to have in our life. Someone we did not have to announce ourselves to. Someone who recognized it, and accepted it. Someone who gathered us up and said, "i love you, just as you are. you are loved and not flawed."
A rare thing. A beautiful thing.
