We don't know why. One would assume (yes, I know, sorry) that Andy had to be on the mainland, or else he would have been at home. He does apologize and explains briefly: "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you arrived. The weather was so bad that the flights to Stornoway were cancelled. I waited in the airport and got the first one I could this morning." Storms arrive when you least expect them, in minutes. They can be much worse than predicted if they were predicted. Another possible reason is that Andy chickened out and made an excuse to leave. Perhaps he believed Matthew would be better off without him there, thinking Maeve would be better for the probably frightened man.

oh! Wow... as long as you don't obsess about things. I can see some folks having issues with it if you do. I like it though. Danny isn't hungry and he isn't just eating salads. I did write a soap opera with another author in Trainwreck, but it's a paranormal one. This isn't one of those. LOL. The last thing I think Matt wants is a boyfriend, especially if it is Andrew! You don't need to provide ID on the ferry. Andrew likely knows this but maybe he has plans and being on his own is easier. I get that Matt is in a hurry but maybe that's not the best thing.

You learn a lot about people when you're abused and used. You learn to read them, mostly because of self-preservation. So, Matt picked up on things from Andrew. Maeve is just what Matt needs—no-nonsense and honest. Did I imply he's good-looking? Hmm. I try to avoid describing characters very much. To me, they have no faces; I don't see their features at all.

I don't know anyone this happened to, but I lived my own hell and came back from it. I've written much about it in My Life In Pieces and Levko. Both are on GA; some of what this is based on, I cannot write. It is too much for GA. I was nearly killed by a group who were filming very violent films. I was lucky, but it took me months to heal, months in the hospital. I hated Jeff for putting me there and for selling me to those people; I wanted no one and nothing. So, I can understand how Matt feels. These things happen in our world today. I had nightmares for years, i had trust issues for a long long time, i have been in therapy for oh, twenty years now. I am okay, though. They say, write what you know. I hope this explains a few things. I don't want you to feel sorry, it's the past. But i still need to face it sometimes so i write it. I'm sure I will again. People wander by the homeless, the lost, the prostitutes.. and we think, why do they live this way? It's rarely because they like it. But many are afraid to escape. So, I'm glad Matt's reactions feel right. Everyone is different. Some people shut down, and others fight back as much as possible. Andrew may have a bit of a Hero Complex. Maeve is new to Matt but offers food and a little tough love as well. She doesn't treat him too gingerly or like he's going to break. That kind of confidence can make you feel more secure as well. Thanks for your comments, Parker.

Matt is used to dealing with change now, perhaps more than he thinks. He's learned to keep things safe in boxes in his head so he's less exposed and can deal with new situations quickly. That's not to say he is okay or needs no help—he isn't, and he does, but he is adaptable.

Glad you had a good time away and are on the way home! Andrew needs to learn a few life lessons, and Matt's gonna teach him some of them.

Mindful eating is part of it. We have never sat at the table to eat, but we are very portion-controlled already, so that isn't a big deal for us. However, we have moved to the table to eat at least a few times a week. It does make a difference. I think we eat more slowly and talk more. I like the Noom lessons as they are short and have a lot of good advice. If you are ready to lose weight and want guidance and support, Noom is great. It doesn't work for everyone, but I don't find it hard to follow, and there is a two-week trial that you can use. There is a fee, but it is as low as $1 up to $24, depending on what you decide to pay. If you don't like it, cancel before the end of the two-week period. Anyway, that is my Noom review so far.

Danny is doing Noom to lose some weight. This means I am doing it too.. not to lose weight but to see how it works. Which means we did a Noom workout this morning. A one-mile walk/workout at home. It got you warm, that's for sure. He has been doing it for about six days and has lost a few pounds. And it's easy to follow. We haven't made many adjustments to our diet. It's very interesting, and I like the app. You do need a smartphone to use Noom. However, we will also go for a walk because it's lovely out and more walking is good. Yay, for sunshine is right. Light filled the bedroom, and Matt stirred. I should have closed the drapes. With a groan, he rolled over, enjoying the duvet and the soft sheets. Mmmm, it's so warm, but—his eyes were drawn to the window—I want to see where I am. He threw back the thick cover, got out of bed, and began to shiver. Thank you, Jeffrey. I know it's a bit of a roller coaster, but they smooth out. Let's hope this story does, too, for Matt's sake. Interesting question about the courts. We'll have to see what happens.
