  1. It went very well, thanks. Max had ballet class after school. I made quiche Lorraine and a light salad with lemon vinaigrette for dinner. Oh, and I got some writing done, too! Congratulations on the new poem, btw. 🌹
  2. @raven1 Hey, Terry!

  5. Spicy Peanut Noodles with Pork Ingredients 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 Tbsp canola oil 1 lb ground pork Heavy sprinkle of red pepper flakes 3/4 cup minced green onions, both green and white parts 1 Tbsp minced garlic 1/2 tsp ginger powder 2 Tbsp creamy peanut butter 1 14 oz package of rice noodles or 1 16 oz package of linguine pasta Optional: roasted salted peanuts, for topping Preparation 1. Set a large pot of water to boil for the noodles. Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Assemble the pork and sauce while waiting for the water to boil. 2. Whisk together the soy and Hoisin sauces with the chicken broth in a measuring cup; set aside near the stove until ready to use. 3. Over medium heat, add the canola oil to a pan and brown the pork until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat from the pan. 4. Add the garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes and half of the green onions to the ground pork. Stir to combine, then heat until fragrant. 5. Pour the Hoisin-soy sauce mixture into the pan with the pork; add the peanut butter and stir until thickened and bubbling. Add the drained noodles to the pan with the pork and toss with tongs to coat. 6. Portion the noodles into bowls, then sprinkle the remaining onions over the top (and the peanuts, if using). Serve.

  21. Speaking from personal experience, boys definitely have it worse than girls. Though, that's not to make light of girls' problems with homophobia. I feel like men (and boys) are held to some mythical "higher standard" that doesn't allow them to express emotions or affection for other males. Even if the relationship with that other male is strictly platonic, as in Lukas Dhont's new film, "Close", in which two boys are forced apart after their close friendship is scrutinized by their peers. But as I said, this so-called "higher standard" is a myth. Because if you treat someone like crap based on some perceived stereotype of gay people or gay sex being "unnatural"? You aren't better than homosexual people or anyone else; YOU are the animal.
  22. Max loves chicken Caesar salad. It appears in his lunchbox at least once a week.
  23. Hey, Drewberry Pi! You'll love this story. I just got back from the library, and while I was there, I spotted two Korean boys, about 16, maybe 17 years old. They were holding hands when they walked into the lobby, and twice, tried to pass through the scanners at the same time. Then they looked at each other and started laughing. The boys quickly kissed each other, and then went through the scanner one at a time. They only let go of each other's hands when the distance was too far to stretch their arms. When they were reunited on the other side, they hugged again as if even that much time apart was unbearable.
