I'm sorry I missed you comment. A year is a long time for a reply! Great cars you mentioned, all three. The 348 and the 409 shared a look, as I recall, and both could crank out some torque if you asked them nicely. Oldmobile's 400 was also a nice engine. The 4-4-2 was just a classic car. You know I am fond of Coronets and 383s though. Do 'em up right, and they could leap tall buildings in a single bound! Thanks for commenting. Sorry I missed it!

A very tumultuous week for you. Great results, though! I'm happy for you that the most important thing in that week was a negative event.

Most of us haven't been able to get out much lately! You're using your home time wisely and creatively. And, yes, it's spring!

A nice little tale, and a great little reminder. It does seem like half the human race spends a portion of their time cleaning up after the other half. We need to remind others that it's one planet, and we all live on it. If people could be trained to view the whole world as their living room, they might be more inclined to watch where they leave their trash. Thanks to you and Owen (and Liebe and Spot) for the reminder.

Well, I'm tall and broad in the shoulders, too. I am not attracted to spanking, either giving or getting. But I can understand how some people might be, and I don't have an issue with THEM doing it, as long as it is not violent or harmful, and it's completely consensual. I also have no interest in wearing feminine attire, nor being with a guy that is. Again, if people want to do that, it's their business. I agree that Danni thinking Kyle knew who he was all along gave some legitimacy to that meeting. I also don't care much for deception in a relationship, and feel it's a spectacularly bad way to start one off. All that said, I still liked the story a lot, because it was presented in the same decent way that Ivor presents all his tales, and had a happy ending. What's not to like? I can understand you feeling a little humiliated by your own experience, but do you know for a fact that your slim blond companion had no idea you didn't suspect or know that she was a he? From what I know of this subject, it is often part of the game to pretend that one does NOT know what is going on. I would consider the idea that this person went out with you because he was attracted to you, and liked you, and felt that you KNEW. There is simply no possibility that you wouldn't find out at some point, and the idea that you might react badly to a deception seems scarcely a desired ending to the date. I'm assuming you never called the guy again, and have to wonder if he was disappointed. But...I often try to see things from the underdog's POV. Going just by what you offered, it is only one possible scenario. If you knew the deception was deliberate, that makes all the difference. But it's kind of nice to think that, somewhere, there's an older guy tromping around in a dress, who occasionally remembers you, sighs wistfully, and smiles.

Ooh! Ooh! Story! Tell! 🙂

I generally don't make a full-story comment until I've read the story all the way through, but this one is so much fun that I just have to recommend it to others. Only comments are allowed here until the story is complete, so just squint a little and pretend this is a review. One thing I always look for in the stories I read are worlds where imagination is allowed to have its say, and that's what you'll find here. This is a story that is full of familiar character types, but not familiar characters. Each is unique, each has a heart (or a noticeable evil streak), and each one will either make you a fan or make you want to be among the other characters when it comes time to deal with them. There's a story here, a twisty sort of a plot, great characters, and best of all, I only have gotten a hazy idea of where it will all wind up. What is perhaps most enjoyable is that this story seems almost familiar, because the world it's set in is maybe a few left turns from our own. It's definitely worth taking the time to visit.

Sorry about the length. Be warned that the others are longer! I'm familiar with the Delany story. My gay life began at 13. This series reflects a lot of that experimentation and discovery. I don't feel I should make those memories go away just because others find them uncomfortable. I almost didn't post the Charmed series here, because I was warned by others that the age of the characters would make them unpopular. And there haven't been many comments. Yet each of these stories has been read several thousand times. SOMEBODY is viewing them. I began writing and posting online by revisiting my memories of my own early gay life. This is it.

Sad chapter, in more ways than one. Seeing Damian and Dylan treated that way just because of their fur markings is certainly a comment on our own often stupid world. And this attitude from their own people, too. I also had a feeling that something was coming along with Miss Reyla, but not this. The plot thickens. But, the world often has to get a little sad to get a lot better. So I'll wait and see.

I was just thinking along these same lines earlier today. No need to mention names here; we all know where to look already. Compassion and caring are gifts, but not everyone has them. And for those who don't have these qualities (or far worse, get the concepts, but despise them), the words will be just two more that never made it into the tiny vocabularies they use to describe their time on this earth.

Fascinating week, and interesting social commentary. And just plain good verse. Glad you say you are feeling better. 'Better' is the new 'good', right?

There's a sense of regret to these verses, and I can see you feel deeply about the things you've said. I think we all have someone in our lives that inspires these somewhat sad remembrances. Expressing them is good for you. I will say one thing: I'll bet when you whispered sweet nothings into your guy's ear, he took notes!

All I can say is that I'll see what happens. I have other projects I'm working on, but will see where this one goes at some point. Je weet hoe wij Nederlanders zijn!

As a teen, I performed an oil change on an Austin Healy for a friend, and found that, once I got the oil filter canister off the engine block, there was simply no way to get it out of the frame. I drained it in place, squeezed out the old filter, and squeezed the new one in and into the canister. The whole time, I was cussing a blue streak at being covered with oil, and thinking dark thoughts about whoever had designed a car in such a way that simple maintenance could not even be performed on it. I also once looked at the MGB my buddy Kurt owned, which had suddenly refused to have working windshield wipers. It was a Lucas Electric problem, and finally had to go 200 miles to a dealer to be diagnosed and repaired. So I feel for you. At the same time, there must be some reason you own the car! Nice to drive, huh?

I seldom intend for anything I write to be more than a one-off. I have bowed to requests for follow ups in the past, and so have them for several of my story lines. This is how I got 13 Charlie Boone stories! But in defense of that series, they have become associated with certain holidays, and have become fun for me, so I'll keep writing them as long as people keep reading them. So while I did not intend for there to be more to this story, i can certainly see the possibilities for more, and that here were some things left hanging. So...maybe!
