I can't believe I didn't comment the first time I read this. What a beautiful, tender, sexy vignette you gifted us. Domestic life in a day, but also telling us so much about those two. Thanks, dear friend. And should you have any others lurking in your mind, do free them, won't you?
Thank you! I've promised myself a break from writing to a schedule for a while, so new chapters will get written but only as I feel like it. You will have to wait a while for the third installment.
I imagine it's a mixture of things: lack of experience; feelings of obligation; just simply being made the centre of attention. As for Pride - Andy's hope is that the local event will be relatively tame compared with a big city affair.
Don't forget 'friends' are still a new concept to Eric - he's not sure how they and he should interact.
Salts this away in my 'Plot suggestions'. Thanks, drought.
Andy has learnt so much about handling Eric, even when he's not in a good mood. Eric for his part, doesn't lose himself completely in his sulk. They are growing.
Late the following morning, Eric got off the bus on the High Street, crossed the road, and pottered down the side lane to the café. His belly still felt as if it were leading the way. The quantity of food he ate at his birthday meal the night before was at least twice what he normally consumed in a day. And it was so rich. No wonder his guts were objecting. Breakfast that morning had been a mug of tea and a slice of dry toast. As he walked, one hand gave his belly a quick rub in the hope it woul
In some of my stories, I write about gay youth / young men learning about their history; LGBTQ history. If I might put it this way: you and people like you are that history. If you don't voice it, who's going to?
And how many people share your reflections, Gary? Those of your age, and those elsewhere for whom the barbarous torments and bigoted attitudes are part of their current everyday life. Progress is apparent, but it is uneven. Is it self-indulgent to examine past and present regrets? I think not.
Looking at the series statement for Soul Music, I found the number of comments and reviews don't match what shows in the individual stories. The capture shows 390 comments and no reviews, when it should be 405 comments and 1 review. It's the same with NeverToo Late, where the noted number of comments is 805 when it's actually 829. While it's nothing major, it does show something has stopped updating. Windows laptop running Chrome.
I'm only taking my first, tentative steps. Don't know which would be best: tweet ourselves about GA or brighten up the official account. What do you think?
I am pleased your encounter with the wolf made it to the page. A vividly drawn image. Might the bear feature at some later date? You always write of stars and constellations so wonderfully - this was no exception.
It'll feel pretty homespun to both lads, but for Eric it has the potential to be a revelation. Who else might he see? People who are part of his town's daily life perhaps.
Including this author... Seriously, the relationship has grown organically - in a way, they've determined how it's worked out. Although I know the genreal direction and main points of travel, my characters do know how to flex their muscles.
I suspect our rural working class in the 1950s weren't as off-grid as perhaps in parts of the US. Behind the times - definitely, but I'd guess they mostly had electricity. Connection to the sewerage network however is still patchy.
