  1. It can definitely be really handy. You can type whatever and then right click in the text field and it does a spell check.
  2. We will be having a chat on Sunday 4/24/2005 at 7pm EDT (4 pm PDT). You will need MSN Messenger, a free chat service: http://messenger.msn.com/ My user name is: myr_the_wizard@hotmail.com Please Join us! I will be there. dkstories will be there. Post if you plan on attending
  3. Both are required. Some people like to just BS... that's primarily what this forum (General Discussion) is about. Not only that, but non-cerebral things are just as important as the cerebral ones.
  4. Do you use ieSpell? http://www.iespell.com/ The new version of the board that is upcoming has a new "rich text" editor. It has a spell check button that uses ieSpell.
  5. We are on track to break the 10,000 post barrier this weekend. We've been slowly building to this point, but we are now averaging around 25 people on the board at any given moment. So post and have fun And thanks for making Gay Authors a great place to hang out! Myr

    Water or Coke?

The only time I drink Coke is when it is filled with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum with a twist of lime.
  11. I get it from you
  12. Every so often I go over to Google to see how we are ranked. If you search for "Gay Stories" we are now number 3 of 13,300,000 listed hits. We just moved ahead of Nifty. If you use MSN Search or Yahoo search, we are ranked number 1 and 3 respectively. Very cool. Thanks guys! The best way to be on top is to earn your way there and we've been working hard to do so.
  13. Sounds good Mike. It's gonna take awhile to get everything coordinated.

  16. In case you are keeping track, I've managed to make some more major updates. The front page is now using a modified Portal. It'll pop up with a lot of what's going on on the forums. I also added some stuff to the Help system on the board. How to post in the Libary, to become a Hosted Author, how to get a story listed in the archive, etc. I'm working on something else now too. I've also updated several other major portions of the site. These will all be expanded a lot in the future: http://teens.gayauthors.org/ http://writers.gayauthors.org/ http://books.gayauthors.org/ http://movies.gayauthors.org/

We are on a shared server and another user had some sort of malicious script running that crashed the server. They have been suspended. Hopefully, that means we'll be safe for now...
  24. Several people requested that I put up the exact requirements. Here they are: https://www.gayauthors.org/hosted-rules.php
  25. Aleric, I'm switching to PHP (and have been for some time) because it is much easier to handle navigation links, google ads, and format updates like that than it is to update say 40 chapters in Do Over's case. Dan's site is just the latest one I'm working on. You may have noticed that I did the same with all of Gay Author's pages about two weeks ago. This is also in preparation of moving the site content into a Content Management System. As for the script, I only have a basic idea of what I want out of one. I haven't taken the time to diagram it yet. That will come soon. After I know exactly what I want, I can tell you whether or not what you have would work. If it doesn't then perhaps we can work together to make it work, or I can find alternative methods. Myr
