Myr's post in Feature Request: Clear Notifications was marked as the answer
We went through this during the initial upgrade. We do not control that part of the software. Notifications are removed automatically by the system.

No, the only bug we've had reported is the opposite. The solution is the same though. You have to clear the cookie for GA.
If you are truly interested in logging in all the time, just use Privacy browsing mode in your browser. It, by definition, does not save cookies.
It is called "Incognito" in Chrome and Safari.
It is called "InPrivate" in Microsoft Edge
It is called "Private" in FireFox.

Myr's post in Writing Comments in the Comment Box was marked as the answer
That is what they call a tooltip and it happens when you hover the mouse over the text editor. The easy solution is to not leave your mouse where you are typing. To be honest, I never even noticed it come up before.

Okay. I'll try to answer these in orders.
There is no need to ever unpublish a chapter in order to edit. Just hit the edit button.
This is by design in case an author unpublishes a middle chapter. We had far too many support requests of "I'm reading Story X and it goes from Chapter 9 to Chapter 11. What happened to Chapter 10?" In the off chance someone unpublished a chapter, all following chapters are automatically unpublished.
This is currently a bug. It slipped by in the previous mess and I've alerted the programmer.
I put a support request into the forums software folks and this is their reply:
This bug was fixed and appears to be broken again. The work around is to go to Advanced Search https://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/sort/
Select: complete, Sci-Fi and set Word Count to More Than 1000 (or any other number) and it will work. I've reported the bug to the programmer

A space at the end does that as well. I had to fix Working it Out for that issue Sunday...

Yes. You switched your Theme to the developmental Theme. I didn't have it locked since most people don't actually fuss with the theme options.
I've reset to the default theme and locked the developmental to Site Admin only.

Myr's post in Why Can't I see Author Banners in the Author List? was marked as the answer
That appears to be a bug because the author logo shouldn't be there. I've removed it and sent a note to the programmer to update the code.

Myr's post in Editor Questions was marked as the answer
There are many variables here. As a general rule, yes, it should work just fine. There are some exceptions:
You must be using a computer. Tablets and Phones are not content creation devices and they may or may not work with the editor as intended due to the under-powered, locked-down nature of such devices. It may work just fine. I can paste formatted stuff in on both my phone and my tablet. It also depends on what you are using for word processing AND how you have something like Word configured. If you end up with crazy double spacing, you can clear that up on the Word side by doing a find and replace... find ^p^p and replace with ^p. Even if it looks crazy after a paste into the editor, it might show up fine in the chapter due to our display filtering. Yes... but you should not be changing fonts and font sizes. It's very likely the system will strip it out so that the chapter formatting tools work properly.

Myr's post in Loss of formatting in story content editor was marked as the answer
Personally, I search for ^p^p and replace with ^p. This is basically required if you see spacing on Word's default setup. If you have tweaked your settings to show spacing on a single carriage return, then you don't need to do this.
Best way to check is to turn on the Paragraph symbols, which is that ¶ symbol. if you see ¶¶ between groups of words, you'll get the double spacing problem. The find and replace I mentioned above, ^p^p with ^p, fixes this issue.
It is really hard programmatically to accept every possible input type and make it correctly output... the editor does a sort of best case of that. We have further filters on the display part of it to make sure that things look right and that the chapter controls work. (contrast, indent, size, etc)

Myr's post in What is the (x) in the Tab trying to tell me? was marked as the answer
Usually notifications... but background tabs are updated at different rates based on browsers and other factors. (like battery saving).
So you might have cleared the notification in your active window but the background tab is out of synch.

Images on the Story Table of Contents page should be working again.

Myr's post in YouTube Links was marked as the answer
The purpose of the chapter text box is chapter text. Chapter Notes and chapter end notes are places for links.
I would imagine that the links are running afoul of the new text filters that are designed to fix the... variations.. authors input so that the output looks correct on all devices.

Myr's post in EX0 code when trying to go to a profile! was marked as the answer
Renee and Wesley were caught in a bug related to deleting stories. If he posts content, it will clear. If he does not, then the patch code we are expecting soon, should clean up the issue.
(There are some corrupt items in the database)

Myr's post in Why do profiles show different things? was marked as the answer
This bug should not be fixed. If you have stories, it will properly redirect to your stories page. Fixing this issue caused the disappearing act the other tabs was doing to stop as well.

Myr's post in What does Error Code: 1S160/2 mean? was marked as the answer
This is several issues.
First. The error code means the page you were trying to reach was not found. There are a variety of reasons for this, including unpublishing a story. In this case, It is most likely that you bookmarked the page during the transition timeframe when the URL had extra parameters and we have since fixed it. (ga/forums/stories instead of ga/stories/).
Second. We can review the page title for chapters to make them more clear. (this is how bookmarks get their default names)
Third. The Stories 2.1 story update we'll be working on after the bugs are fixed will address this issue as we'll be adding To Read lists, Reading History and a few other things tied to making it easier for readers.

Myr's post in Publishing formating was marked as the answer
You must paste content in on a PC to maintain formatting. There is some sort of flaw in Android that prevents proper formatting. Not sure in apple devices.
If you can't do that, then you must format using the editor using a modern mobile device.

Piss Poor Design.
They are adding it back in in the 4.2 software update, which will be a couple months.
In the meantime, I've updated major groups to allow you to hide your content. NOTE: This flags moderation so you'll see hear from the Mod Team, if you're doing things that is odd.
