    Chapter 1

Thank you, William for the comment. I am glad you enjoyed the story.
  4. It's Christmas!!!
  5. Not sure if this is the right way or place to ask. I recently finished reading a story here on GA that is seven-years-old. There are some formatting issues within each posted chapter, where the scene breaks are missing, and scenes run into each other. I believe the author may have used a "solid line break" or extra space to separate the scenes, but one of the upgrades to the site may have erased them. (I say this, because several solid line break are in a couple of the chapters, but not all.) The author hasn't been on the site in over 3 years, and was wondering if the staff had a volunteer that corrects story formatting issues for missing authors. If not, I'm willing to volunteer time to help, if needed. Link to story:

    The Guardians

For the last couple of chapters, before I finished, I started to think about the review I was going to leave. This story is fantastic. It's a story about Light vrs Darkness, and the strength and love of Family. Family is defined as siblings, friends, and lovers who stand by you. There is darkness in this story, in the form of rape, murder, and just evilness, that is kept in balance with the hope and love that the characters have. The only faults, I found was the formatting issue, where scenes with a chapter run into each other without any break. This is a seven-year-old story as of this review posting, and I feel that might have happened in a site upgrade, rather than an error on the Author's part. I can not stress how much, I enjoyed this story, and recommend it to anyone.
  7. I've always sucked at naming characters, and it was suggested to me to look at Baby Name list. After it was, I looked up a few, and even found a couple of sites. Behind the Name: Meaning of Names, Baby Name Meanings A Good Site that has a ton of names, by regions, and popularity. Fantasy name generators. Has a crap ton of Random Name Generators, for all genres.
  8. It's been a common complaint about Hollywood, and rebooting T.V. Shows, Spin-Offs, and Movies. That there is no more stories to tell in the world. I personally feel that there is, and that Author's bring creativity with each new telling, from their P.O.V. However, I ran into an interesting situation the past couple of days. I've been diligently working on my Story The Half-Elven Warlock, even soliciting advice from good friends, on how to approach one aspect, and even outlines. Chapter 4 is almost done, and Chapter 5 has elements that I've already written for it. As they say, "To be a good writer, one must be a good reader," I've been reading from time to time, and have been binge reading a 40+ chapter story here on GA. Imagine my surprise, when I get to chapters in the center of this seven-year-old story, and find a training session for the Lead Character, and it matches 85% of what I had just written. Of course, details, tone, and setting is completely different, along with use of style, but wording and intent is spot on. I'm now rewriting my chapter, as it's not plagiarism, but the concepts are damn near close to being identical. So, has that happened to you? Have you worked on a project, only to find that someone else did it as well, years earlier?

  10. I'm not sure if this won the contest, back in 2011. However, I highly recommend the story for anyone looking for a a good story to read. Well written, with a few grammar issues. If you like Modern Fantasy, blended into a thriller, and combined with a crime drama, then this is the story for you.
  11. A very beautiful and well written Christmas story, from one of GA's popular Editors. A bit of a mystery at the end, but an enjoyable read.
  12. Thanks, jp.
  13. Thank you, tim. It's appreciated.
  14. Thanks, Mac. It was fun to write too.
  15. “Hold still…,” Alex said. He stood behind James, and reached around and adjusted the bowtie. The pair both wore tuxedos, black with gold trim, and tails, and Alex was putting the finishing touches on his friend. “You look good.” “Thanks… I’m so fucking nervous. Is it too late to call it off?” James asked, with near panic in his voice. “Calm down,” Alex replied and led James over to the couch in the dressing room. They both sat down, while Alex pulled out a flask and poured them eac

    Moggy's Mutterings

A great collection of poems, Moggie.
  17. This was a very fun tale, about Dom, and his Halloween Eve night. It has all the makings of a comedic tale, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  18. Fantastic story, of someone who's birthday is April Fool's day. Told from the PoV of the Main Character, in the first person, jokes are aplenty, along with hurt, and love.

  19. Putting the stereotypical political satire aside, the story was very well written, and had an interesting theme in it.
  20. That's very true. In order to post anything, you have to have an account, and I believe @Myr once said (and I can be off on the numbers), that site traffic was 98% guests and 2% Members. So, it's quite possible.
  21. I stand corrected. Thanks @Myr.
  22. Well, STD is sticking to cannon, I'll give them that. However, they ripped off a video game and Robotech for the Spore Drive system.
  23. It's scattered in a couple of different topics, but jp is correct Solus. The most viewed genre is Romance, Followed by Drama. In most Modern settings. Fantasy is third, then the others with SciFi being dead last. FanFic is about equal to SciFi in populism, and it's not just on GA, but throughout the whole industry.
  24. I sauntered into the room, listening to the lamentations of my Enemy's woman. Dive
