For some, being able to focus on methods of discipline slows down the cacophony in the head for a while. As you quoted, liberation can be found in the submission. It's not always the case, and it doesn't always last, but even temporary release helps (and not through self-harm!) I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I know how deeply connected to this you are.
