    Chapter 38

That last sentence obviously was meant to be "The things you learn..." but even as I type now, a #@*%! program is trying to overrule my proper spelling and grammar. No matter how many times I fire Otto Koreckt , he keeps finding his way back with his annoying 'unpredictive' spelling. Grrrr 🙄

    Chapter 38

Yes and those who don't know this small villagio no doubt checked it out. But I suspect few referenced its mayor Luciano Andreotti and his family connection to a more famous (or infamous depending on who you talk to), the late Guilio Andreotti former Premier (Prime Minister). The late Premier (who did in 2013) was 'friend' to many world leaders including U.S. President Richard Nixon. But despite his connections, Mr. Andreotti was investigated by the U.S. government for 'alleged' Mafia connections. Nothing was ever 'proved' as the Andreotti 'family' is far reaching in Italy, and the elder Andreotti was exonerated by his government. The thongs you learn of you follow where the arrow points. 🙄

    Chapter 15

    💔
  4. Its a if a more powerful 'force' decided that Aric needed to reach out to help Blake, just as much as Blake needed to be rescued, (at least from the cold and inhospitable Chicago streets at Christmas). I am so looking forward to the continuation of this story, through Christmas and New Years and on to the end of the school year. 🫂

    HH Chapter 11

I'm correcting myself before I got 'called' on the colour of an Editor's pencil used to indicate words or grammar that need attention. In some areas a Blue Pencil is used to 'mark up' sections that have been edited, revised or changed. (back in the olden days when people pencils and write things. 🙄.) 🇺🇦

    HH Chapter 11

Co-writing has been described by some as akin to giving a child an drawing outline and a box of crayons and letting them fill in the outline. That is highly simplistic. The only similarity is where a story 'outline' is created by the author and a co-writer (oft time a 'Ghost') fills in blanks, adds 'colour', characters, verifies and double-checks 'everything' in hopes of avoiding the editors dreaded Red Pencil. Which is not to say there is no interest. But authors will always be indispensible vis-à-vis 'in situ' information, language etc.

    Chapter 37

Hello Cal and welcome to the weekend (although truth be told the days are still a mash up since Covid). Another interesting and intriguing chapter Cal. A couple of spelling errors MAY have popped up, it's not always easy to differentiate between "Friends, Romans, Countrymen'. (yes I 'borrowed' that from Marc Antony via Willie Shakes, but they can't sue me 😆.) The surname you used of Quinton 'Pomppeus' was usually.spelled Pompeius and was the name of various Roman families from the general Pompeia citizenry, (mostly of plebeian (lower ranked) status, and lived during both the Roman Empire and Republic. Lucius Popidius Secundus may have been Lucius Pedanius Secundus (d. AD 61) was a Roman senator 'loosely' related to Emperer Nero's 2nd wife (or mistress). Or I may be completely off the track. Finally as for the "...few extra pounds he (Colin) gained eating Pizza" and MANY other foods on vacation? I claim guilt by association. Looking forward to more of Arrow, and the guys back at home, where Colin and Armand will be busy. Hope you continue to mend well. Take care. Thank You Tony
  8. Another Awww-some chapter Carlos. Catching up with Chipper is setting the stage for some coming attractions (next book)? Peter's interaction with everyone was pure genius. (again?) As for Owen's 30th, aside from his and CJ's getting drunk and probable bedroom 'interlude' or three, mine was way worse. Cop 'friends' tried to get me soused , returned 'home' where a 5 gal bucket of sloppy lime jello dumped on my head when I opened door. While in the shower I overheard 5 beefy cops plot involving weight bench, whipped cream, shaving and more 'partying' in basement lounge. Escaped from 2nd floor bathroom window, down TV antenna, then hiding in bushes for hours in cold April weather! Back to chapter at hand. Was half expecting something to happen. 💣, 🚨 Hmm. Four to go... Thanks Carlos 🇺🇦

    Chapter 15

You and me both Andre. Have a hard enough time fixing 'Grammarly' and Otto Korrect errors. Googled 'Lochaber no more' four times and while each led to YouTube clips WITH ads (hence my 'elves' reference), my grey cells in brain finally convinced me to Right Click on video to open in separate window. With video paused, right clicked again and copied link, which I then pasted into main 'Comment' section as you would with text and NOT URL box GA provides. Et voila 'Presto 🪄 Good luck! T 🇺🇦

    Chapter 15

@Andre Delport my wee elves found some of the bagpipe from the funeral and offer this version of the 'lament' as they exited the Chapel of St. Ciaran. (elves apologize for any 'evil ads' YouTube might add, but say to skip them to see and hear). The Jacobite Clan Cameron piper is dressed in 17th century tartan and regalia as would fit a farewell to "Lochaber no more".
  11. Allies are often only allies when all their backs are against a wall, or in the case of a common foe. During WWI cousins fought cousins. Friends fought former neighbours. Some joined late (like U.S.) while others espoused neutrality to save themselves (Denmark, Norway and Sweden). Historians argue Switzerland remained neutral for purely monetary reasons ( 'banker' for all sides benefitted). War IS Hell. 🇺🇦

    Chapter 15

Thank you Andre for this sad, 💔 🫂 farewell to Beth and Nicki. The final farewell at Achnacarry Castle was in keeping with (much of my) Scottish tradition, from the four pipers 'serving watch' over Beth and Nicki, to the 'Order of Service', psalms, songs and pipers, and "Her Majesty, in consultation with the First Minister, has decided to posthumously award to Elizabeth and Dr. Nicola Cameron-Smith, England's highest civilian medal for bravery, the George Cross. Finally, the graveside service and the Cameron clansmen reverently laying Beth and Nicki side-by-side for all eternity, but overlooking "the most beautiful view of Loch Arkaig and the heather clad hills beyond." Then the sad departure of Andrew, Ryan, Cameron, Elisabeth (Jnr), Jamie (Jnr) and Fiona, as they head to Cape Town as a united but mourning family, and all that awaits them there. But as we are told by Mr. Fraser: "The awards will be presented to the surviving family by Her Majesty ... which will occur in June," so a return trip to Scotland is expected. And a reunion with four grandparents (Jamie Snr, Iona, Ken and Jenny). So for now it's Farewell but not Goodbye! A heartfelt Thank You for this chapter and this 2nd Book of Never Walk Alone. As Scots love to say, we'll "Abide a while", anticipating Book III, whenever it arrives. Tony (Anton). 🇺🇦

    HH Chapter 11

Overall interesting chapter Preston. Palden, although two years younger, is introduced to and accepted by Dechen Christopher's mates in Hobart and joins them on their holiday 🏕️ 🛶 near the family farm / homestead. Good that Jake and his brother patched things up. Sad that Jake's earlier attempts to reach his brother Christopher (the doctor) for a possible bone marrow transplant failed. In early stages that would have prolonged or cured his leukemia (as it did for my godson). Sad that Jake's son Palden lost both his Dads. Thankfully Jake arranged for his brother and sister-in-law (Christopher and Anne) to be legal guardians for Palden (at least until he reaches 18 in 5 years time). For now Palden is going to Bhutan. Dechen holds out possibly of going to Switzerland or UK for high school (with Palden as well), AND, the family continues to own the 1,700+ acre working (and income generating) farm along with other properties including the 'accommodations' they let. Palden would receive his father's 1/2 share (ownership) in all of that as heir, which gives him a 'home' to come back to after 6 to 9 years (if he and Dechen go on to Uni. Palden gets a degree in Farm Administration 'Bs Farm Management' to run farm?). But that's in Book II of HH*. Right? Time for another multi-book series Preston! * In Book II, HH stands for Hobart Homestead 🏠 🚜 🇺🇦

    Chapter 16

Welcome back, with another interesting chapter. I could be punny and say it was a deliciously tasty concoction that left my thirsting for more, but that would be ladling it one just a bit too much. Not yet a fan of smoothies🧉 (although like Sasha I have been 'volunteered' to try some). I think the passage below makes Sammy's interest in 'smoothies' clear: "Sasha warily assessed the thick, earthy liquid. "Here goes nothing," he said and took a small sip while squinting his eyes and I used this opportunity to stare at his hot, slim body. His skin was pale and completely smooth."
  17. That's a great way of paraphrasing what many college/university educators say in terms of grading students work. The good ones give you marks for showing how you arrived at an answer, even if the answer wasn't correct. They want to see the process (reasoning) used.
  18. Wow, what a treat Carlos with the 'early edition' new chapter. So many things to target in this one. Glad to celebrate Liebe's 'Earth Day ' 🌎 2nd birthday. Her status as a Taurean may explain her shopping tantrum, her recognition of herself in the magazine photo and her strongly developing personality (in addition to what she inherited from her mother). The dial on the 'old fashion' bedroom safe not being "...on zero" is more than a little disconcerting. Perhaps being 'old tech' meant whoever was snooping forgot about that detail when they were done. Perhaps Li's 'spycraft' needs more practice? It seems paella isn't the only thing moving off the back burner and heating up. Oz's closing expression of concern that his and CJ's children "... grow up with two parents" to watch over, love and protect them as they grow, while well founded, will not be a problem for Liebe, Roo, Jeffer and Davey. * 😉 Although there will no doubt be bumps along the way. * (Not letting any cats out of the bag. Use same reading (editing) technique as @Kitt in order to absorb more details. Hopefully for later recall. In this case, HTTC). 🙏 🇺🇦
  19. Not a cliffie unless someone slips on capitol steps on a cold day in January.
  20. Subtle? Carlos? There have been 'a few' that were kinda sorta subtle. But IMHO it's not the #1 tool in his writer's tool kit. Not to mention that Ozzie's “Unless something happens and we need to escape for a few days. I’m looking forward to a couple of quiet months” pretty much jinxed it. I love Liebe's "I like slimies." 🍤 The shopping tantrum, not surprising given her age. I suspect she inherited more than just her Mom's 🐨 DNA but perhaps a bit of strong-willed sheila. Two weeks til things go boom? Memorial Day Mayhem?

    Chapter 36

Glad to see you back Cal. Hope things keep improving, or at the very least maintain status quo. This wonderful chapter focusing on Pompeii 🌋 provides Colin with more ideas for the club, than there are walls available. I imagine after Colin explained the laundry process to the other tourist, it was all Armand could do not to say "you're (pronounced Yer-in) trouble". Sorry for the horrible pun, I just had to let it flow. Okay stopping now. Take care.

    HH Chapter 10

I think when all the family gather at the farm in Maydena to discuss Jake's late-stage leukemia and his son Palden's future, there should be more than a little forgiveness for past family problems. Dechen taking his (slightly) younger cousin Palden on the mountain-bike trip with his school mates Lenn and Giles, will be good for all concerned. Dechen's concerns over his sexuality might be assuaged a bit after learning more about his Uncle Jake, and Jake's late husband Frank, both from talking with Jake as well as getting Palden's point of view growing up with two Dads.

    HH Chapter 9

Sad to see how correct I was in my chapter 8 comment about Jake, and how dire his situation is. At least the family has cleared the air about what broke them apart (Jake being gay). Hopefully they will come together to support Jake 🫂in his final days, and most importantly welcome Palden into the family . Will Jake's revelation of being gay affect Dechen Christopher* (*name seems to be handed down from one generation to the next, for all the males) and his possibly being gay? Obviously young Palden had no problem with 2 Dads 👨‍👨‍👦, but losing both before he's 12 ... Horrible 💔! Now on to meeting at family farm to plan and take next (legal ⚖️ ) steps for Palden. (And perhaps a better school alternative for Dechen?)

    Chapter 35

UPDATE for all you fans and readers of ARROW (and other @CLJobe stories), wondering when new chapters and stories will appear. Just to let you know, Calvin is currently 'indiposed' but looks forward to returning in a few weeks. 👨‍⚕️ 🙏 Tony (aka Anton) 🇺🇦

    HH Chapter 8

IF Jake has a "medical emergency" that had him urgently trying to contact his brother and sister (Aunty Grace) one can only suspect it's something dire like a need for a transplant organ (or part of), bone marrow for leukemia or other cancer that a familial match could provide. After all these years, Jake could be married and have children who are seriously ill and need that help. How much can Dechen or Aunt Grace help? Hopefully we find out soon.
