The Way that Nash pushed himself to the limit and beyond for the marathon was just really bad for himself and it’s effected his health, it’s just not worth it. It’s not clear why Lee didn’t want to go to the marathon with Nash, he knew for months that Nash was competing and should have rearranged his schedule to go with Nash. I now understand why Nash doesn’t want to have anything to do with Ryan and his family after the way that Ryan dragged him into the family day, that is just odd behaviour.
