The Scourge: Can You Hear It?
FanLit commented on Headstall's story chapter in The Scourge: Can You Hear It?
Poignantly Beautiful expression of recent events. There isn’t much that gives hope yet I still hold onto it….it only takes one ray of light to dispel darkness. As moved as I was by the subject matter, it was seeing “Headstall posted chapter 87 to Headstall’s Reflections” in my notifications that brought tears to my eyes. Welcome back, my Beautiful, Platonic Friend. You’ve been missed. ❤️ 🍻 -

The breadcrumbs seem to be leading back to that heinous shifter sex slave operation so it seems it’s not a matter of if The Sentinels will come but when.

Attraction doesn’t care about time or place, it is a cruel and demanding mistress that can wreck havoc with one’s life. Kage and Elijah will see each other again, indeed. The explanation about emotional detachment only conveys how very important our formative years are & made me sad for Kage’s present & future….he clearly is open to more than he’s ever had before now. “Kage wanted nothing more than to be the one to teach Elijah the nuances of hot, carnal sex, but he couldn’t. He wouldn’t. It would only break the shapeshifter’s heart.” While it was Kage’s observation, the question “which shapeshifter?” came to mind 🤔 Aaaaaannnnndddd: “A framed picture of Jay Petermeyer, number ninety-nine for Seattle, signed by the legend himself, adorned the wall over the bar area, albeit slightly askew.” I LOVE IT❣️❣️❣️❣️

Our relationship with our parents affect us; they provide the foundation for every other relationship we have in our lives….if they are healthy, we tend to gravitate to healthy relationships….if they are not, we tend not to and can spend the rest of our lives fighting against the only thing we know. Alec’s mother was an awful one to him yet the primordial urge for parental acceptance remains; her imminent death reminds that whatever chances for reconciliation between them are dwindling-when she’s gone, she’s gone; that grief isn’t something he should deal with alone so I’m glad River and Finn will be supporting him, it’s where they belong and where they want to be. In the midst of the Strum und Drang of this chapter, this made me laugh because it echoes what I said previously: “It can also be incredibly frustrating. He says whatever he wants to. He doesn’t try to sugarcoat things and it sometimes makes him come off as…as…” “An asshole?” Alec offered, smiling more now.” 🤣🤣

I’ve been known for stirring a “muse” now and again. 😉 😄 They will tell you what need to say when you need to say it.

I gotcha- Quote from the synopsis of this story: ”This story is a continuation of Spirit Wolves which should be read first.)” Permission is granted for cross referencing. 😬

Reread (yes again, lol.) Changed the like I gave it to a love….wondered why I didn’t love it before (because this little gem is a favorite); I think the love option wasn’t available at the time. So with 5.5 going on 6 years in, they have enough time for marriage and kids (if they want that, of course), as well as wildly successful careers, a local power couple supported by the A team and humbled parents (?) Probably not, lol. This was a lovely revisit. ❤️💝 🍻

His parents knew he was a shifter, he did something as a baby (it escapes me now) that made them reassess the big family they wanted, in case they had more than one shifter child. One of the parents had shifter heritage & I think another had Fae, I’ll let our illustrious author confirm at her leisure, lol.

Gotta say, I do trust @kbois….to take me on an eventful journey with many bumps and not quite the normal HEA. 😄

Kasar Huntington seems very predatory, which I guess befits his leonine qualities. Huntington likely did blackmail Elijah’s father (how much did his mother know?) and then discarded his parents when their usefulness came to an end….that or whomever he’s battling might have done it to get at him. Kage seems tempted to deviate from his disciplined manner to aid Elijah-sexually and otherwise (if he wasn’t hooked before, Elijah’s judgment free comment definitely did “That doesn’t make you a bad person,”). This shadow shifter dwells in the shadows in more ways than one and Elijah is the sunlight he wants to bask in. I love the career Tyler want to pursue….it’s a unique niche and truly the subliminal soundtrack to our lives, lol. @kbois-bend with your knees, okay? And take water breaks.

“He didn’t say anything. He just squeezed as he breathed in the man. “Are you okay?” Finally, he released his hold, pulling back and placing a quick kiss on a startled Jimmy.” Dude, LOL!! He was gone from the first night, LMAO!! Jimmy Dean had the right to be confused.

Giving this another ride. I can’t believe this was four years ago already, smh. I like rereading-I always find something I missed the first time or something previously read has a different meaning.

He’ll definitely get “Bossman” mad over his feelings for Elijah, if he hasn’t already; it doesn’t seem like much escapes “Bossman”’s attention.
