Kasar Huntington seems very predatory, which I guess befits his leonine qualities. Huntington likely did blackmail Elijah’s father (how much did his mother know?) and then discarded his parents when their usefulness came to an end….that or whomever he’s battling might have done it to get at him. Kage seems tempted to deviate from his disciplined manner to aid Elijah-sexually and otherwise (if he wasn’t hooked before, Elijah’s judgment free comment definitely did “That doesn’t make you a bad person,”). This shadow shifter dwells in the shadows in more ways than one and Elijah is the sunlight he wants to bask in. I love the career Tyler want to pursue….it’s a unique niche and truly the subliminal soundtrack to our lives, lol. @kbois-bend with your knees, okay? And take water breaks.

Where was the food? The hot chocolate with whipped cream? The fruit and yogurt? Besides character torture, a hallmark of a @kbois story is drool worthy meals and exotic alcohol. My stomach didn’t growl nor did I feel tipsy in this chapter, lol.

antidisestablishmentarianism? Nice SAT word, lol. Kage’s boss sounds CA-YUTE!! Lol!! Elijah’s parents were keeping secrets….It made me sad to think that Elijah would not rely on The Sentinels to help him, I wonder if Kage convinces him of otherwise in their eventual talk. Elijah’s neck deep in something he doesn’t even know yet so I suspect all hands will be on deck soon enough. Where’s my food and liquor porn? Someone’s slipping….

So yes, I reread this after the first chapter of “Shadow Effects” came out & finished in time for chapter two. I was torn about a story for Caleb….knowing he wasn’t purely evil made me want to read about what happens to him and a hope redemption (which hopefully involves a proper reunion with Vann); I’m glad he’s on your horizon. Off to read chapter two now of S.E….Will be keeping an eye out for “guest appearances”, lol.

I too was concerned about him going back to the scene of the crime alone. Aside from funeral parlors, can the police provide contacts for “clean up crews”? (Sorry if that sounds morbid) No victim or relative should have to deal with that on their own. ☹️

Your “surprises” are no longer known as cliffies, they are plot twists of the twistiest kind & jump out at any part of the story, lol. I’m sorry about the loss of Elijah’s parents & can’t help but feel it’s tied to him somehow, which will give him lifelong guilt….hopefully Kage will give him a place to cage all the feelings he has & will have from now on.

A very nice glimpse of what their mornings can be like. (Morning sex is the best ❤️😊🍆) They already seem so routine around each other. I hope his father is calling to tell him his mother is gone….that’ll close that door for good.

The wedding was more whimsical than expected but enjoyable…. I can’t begin to imagine the gall that possessed the chromosomal unit to think it realistically conceivable that they had ANY right to be at the wedding-while Loren & Lars may not want to know the info Jay’s investigation yielded, *** I would want that info in the super epilogue, lol!!*** It was that barring from the gate moment that generated one of the most powerful lines for me: ”We freeze and slowly look left. Jay, Taylor, Derek, Seamus, Will, Scott, Garrett, Shawn, and Marcus stare at us with their arms crossed.” This cross section of important people from Jay’s childhood, school days and work life packed a punch with me; while that is typically what a wedding party is composed of, their absolute support of Jay (and by extension, Loren) in dealing with that situation warmed my heart: “That’s not true.” Scott says. “I had the firm’s private investigator pull every piece of paper he could find. I found some interesting information on the lead prosecutor, Paul Messner.” Is Paul Messner a former lover? The twins’ father, perhaps? “It’s time for you to get the hell out.” Seamus tells them. “Now.” That was Seamus standing up for his boy Loren. ❤️ Cousin’s camp looks like the blast we all thought it would, though it looks like it will have to be held at an actual campground with the population explosion of the next generation, lol!! This chapter and story ended on the sweetest of notes…***it would be great if that super epilogue covered the thought process that changed Loren’s mind*** because that was a monumental shift. This whole story was a gift, one of many you’ve provided on this site (my fave still remains “Tied up in Knotts”) 😍 Thank you for sharing your fantastic storytelling skills, it’s been a great ride.
