Seamus and Loren are more alike than they realize-it’s no coincidence that Aiden gravitates to the two of them almost to the exclusion of anyone else; I also believe given both Seamus & Loren’s backgrounds that their reaction to each other is completely natural….it is a testament of the love that Jay has for each that he understands both perspectives & spoon fed information accordingly. Jay is right in that Loren would be a perfect dad….it is Loren’s right to want or refuse that choice and another example of Jay’s love for Loren that he accepts wherever he stands: ”He scoffs. He doesn’t believe me. He has some notion that the perfect family looks like a dad who coaches sports and a mom who brings snacks. He’s convinced I want the perfect family. He just doesn’t realize that he’s my perfect family. Kids or no kids. I don’t care.” The exchange that made me LOL: “You’re not leaving, are you?” “Why not? This ain’t my thing. This is your thing.” I look at him with big blue eyes. He glares. I pout. He rolls his eyes at my persuasion and throws his hands in the air. I grin to myself. Dance puppet, dance. This exchange got two snaps up: ”Once we’re comfortable in bed, moments before sleep takes us, I lean over. “If you want to get pissed at me for not telling you that Aidan was coming to stay with me for a week, then don’t sneak off and go rock climbing the second I leave the country. Communication is a two-way street and you reap what you sow.” Aido Potato 👶🥔 sure knows how to pick ‘em, lol; I don’t think he’ll make mashed potatoes of Loren but he’s definitely mushier. (All the Aiden-speak & his cute little actions in this chapter were priceless)

@Mrsgnomie the evolution of Jay & Loren’s relationship in this story and how much of the upper hand Jay had in bringing out the “best life” in Loe is a revelation- At the risk of incurring your “wrath” and bringing up “Boss Nanny”: I had the impression Jay was panting over Loren like a lovesick puppy and was pulling out all the stops to impress “Loe”.

Rant away. This was well said and has been a concern of mine as well….I trust Mrsgnomie to address this in some way & we see how it’s dealt with.

They fit. They work. They are perfect together. With all that Jay knows of Loren’s past, I don’t think he truly understands how much he means to Loren: “Perfect timing now that Jay is getting ready to start his season. He won’t have time to babysit me anymore because he’ll be worrying about himself. And I’ll be worrying about him, too. He’s been quick to act like me getting hurt is the end of the world. Well, news flash, him getting hurt would be the end of mine.” (The underlined were the words that moved me in this chapter.) The words that made me LOL: “Why are you smirking?” I smile and stretch out beside him, covering him with my body. “Because I played you like a fiddle.” Jay runs his fingers around my sling, over my bicep, and chuckles. Then he lifts my chin and looks at me with so much affection. “You are a master fiddliest.” With one arm, I lamely mimic a puppeteer making his puppets dance. “As long as you know how things rank between us.” He makes a noise and rolls his eyes at my lame joke, then runs his fingers through my hair. I can feel his thoughts. ‘Yeah, Loren. I’m the puppet…” Loren indeed does know how things rank between them….Fiddle Dee Dee my ass, Loren, lol.

Somebody did, lol. My sister & I cried like we knew him, lol. (we were 11 & 9). I HATED Katherine Wentworth because of that.

I really like that you started this chapter with Jay preparing to bottom for Loren. Too few stories get into the specifics & it’s a part of the process of anal sex; It became humorously touching (and ouch!) that Jay became so cramped after his enema; He wanted to surprise his man & isn’t afraid of anything to achieve that end. The results wound up being well worth it: “I’m officially a bottom,” I tell him later, after he’s thoroughly exhausted me.” That wound up being the calm before the storm because Loren done did it now by getting hurt. 😳 😱 😮 I remember the timeframe this dovetails with in “Boss Nanny” & without providing any spoilers, I’ll be interested in seeing the aftermath of Jay reaching Loren. There’s gonna be a come to Jesus conversation between them about the dangerous aspects of each of their lives….that talk won’t be pretty but it will be necessary and hopefully, clarifying. The line that made me laugh out loud: “He laughs. “Just ‘cause I think you’re spoiled doesn’t mean I think you’re a brat. You’re incredibly amazing and humble.”- I loved this line because I believe this and say it often, being spoiled doesn’t mean being a brat; With what we’ve all lived through lately, we can all do with being spoiled more for sure. The line(s) that made me something: “Only if you tell me I’m the only one for you.” Before I slide to my knees, Loren grabs my shirt and looks me in the eye. “I don’t bounce on anyone’s dick. I bounce on your dick. Now, suck mine like you’re the last man who gets to do it.” Yes Sir.” I love someone who can take charge….Yum.

@raven1 & @Mrsgnomie- I (and perhaps the Oregon Tourist Association, lol) loved the walk down hometowns lane; raven1 was surely meant to read this story considering his life path, 😊.

It’s a testament to Mrsgnomie’s storytelling; At this point, if I can’t get to the chapter early enough, I forgo commenting when I see 3+ pages unless it’s something I really feels needs to be said. I’d say that this is Loe’s livelihood, as well. Loren proves himself as a Jack of all trades…. I think sexual positions are the only thing he hasn’t marketed at this point, lol. Loe’s social empire is admirable & Jay shows how in love he is to expose himself in ways he previously has not via this road trip; While it’s his choice, I wonder if he truly knew what he was getting into, I feel mercilessly exposed on Jay’s behalf, lol.

Oh, and my laugh out loud moment: “I don’t want to toot my own horn but I’m pretty creative, too. I suggest a photo of us playing Stratego. Surprise flashes in Loren’s eyes when I bring the box to the kitchen. It’s dirty and a little stained after finding it in the trash a few weeks ago. He avoids eye contact.” While I’m at it, my swoon moment: “My only plan for this offseason, besides some endorsements and a few other things my manager has set up, is to be available to Loren in whatever way he needs me.“ 😍😍😍😍

This is a beautiful display of the organic development of a grown ass relationship. Jay shows his commitment from the moment he lays eyes on Loren…. I think it’s clear Loren was similarly affected (once he noticed Jay, lol) but took a more cautious approach. The tactics we thought were the maneuvers of a player were Loren’s struggle to get past the scars of his emotional abuse to meet Jay where he was at (Loren’s successful career shows his dedication to perfection once he commits to a task, Jay is the first person to make him want to rise to that on a personal level). It’s not going to be smooth sailing but they’ll be okay- “I’m prepared for anything, including Loren picking fights over ‘nothing’ just to test me, to see if I will walk away. He can try all he wants, it won’t work.” As perfect as we know Jay is for Loren, I also appreciate Loren’s influence on Jay; I think he will keep Jay out of his own head and from taking life too seriously, (fellow over thinker over here, 🤚) “I feel bad though, I planned for this to be a lot more romantic and less down and dirty.” “Eh, that never works out anyways. You can’t take these things too seriously.” Loe’s seductive (yet totally clueless) cleat chaser was perfect for their first time, lol. I love an interactive author….kudos to you, Mrsgnomie on your “shoutouts” during Jay & Loe’s relationship reveal. Wonderful chapter. ❤️
