That didn't go the way I expected but realize it was the best way for Daniel to come out. The fallout from his orientation as well as the way his orientation was declared will be interesting. I'm hoping the "snake in the grass" can be caught before he strikes. Is Julie psychic? I know her "gift" has been remarked upon in previous stories but don't remember if it was confirmed. Her delivery throws me a bit, lol. Lastly, I thank you for following your muse wherever it takes you. I have faith that you will touch upon all your characters as needed, there would be no reason to have introduced them all to us, otherwise. Aside from a few grammatical errors here and there, I think you're a fabulous writer. Please don't let your past academic performance hang over you anymore. You are doing what some only talk about doing. If you were to stop right now, you'd always be able to say you are an author (a great one, btw) and not many people can say that. I eagerly await the next installment.

It infuriates me that people have to put others down to make themselves feel important; It's even worse when it's family that does it. Seeing how quickly Jake fell into his "role" was SO painful to me. Is it because Diaz resented having to take care of Jake at such a young age? Is it because Jake isn't "thuggish" that Diaz genuinely believes he's weak? Is it because Diaz is just ignorant to any other way of life other than his own? I personally think it's a combination of all the above. Diaz is truly an irritant to me. His ignorance is dangerous as well as annoying. I know the time will come when Jake will have to pick a side but I hope he's on Klaus' turf when that time comes. Excuse the bible but I want a HEA for Jake, even if he doesn't wind up with Klaus, I just know he is going to have to face down Diaz to get that and I worry if he's strong enough. I really like this story, thank you for a troubling, yet good chapter, Laura. (Klaus and Jake's interaction wasn't lost on me and was enjoyed-GREAT set up for make up sex) but clearly the brother's dynamic stayed with me more.

Wouldn't it be AWESOME if he's having an affair with a guy?!?! If not that, your comment definitely has me thinking there's been some guy/guy experimentation in the past. It would explain why he's so horrid to Drake. Self hate is the worst hate.

I'm thinking instead of manipulative, it was more subliminal on Ryan's part, 'cause manipulative really isn't Ryan's way. He wants Erik to live with him and already thinks of him as family, sometimes we show what we feel instead of saying it.

I am curious as to why the Haner parents didn't try to talk to Oliver that night, in spite of his "LEAVE ME ALONE!!" declarations. Were they unaware how upset he was, that he was on the precipice of going the same place Ryder went?

It seems the school isn't progressive in any way, that the same people who didn't help Ryder now won't help Teddy. Even Ryder putting them on blast after he became rich and famous prompted no change. They will continue to wrap themselves in their herd mentality and to hell with the strays.

This chapter was very moving. Oliver slayed me. To go so high from his performance and then so low after the rejection-his self hatred was palpable. It reminded me just how much you feel as a teenager; Everything is the best and everything is the worst. When everyone else is telling you something is wrong with you, it's hard to think it isn't true; Hard to understand that you're not as bad as they say you are, that different isn't "cursed". 😒 I'm glad Teddy and Ryder were there for Oliver that night, that could have been a turning point down a dark place; Ryder especially won't let that happen while he's around. Nice direction change with the wet dream and the uncomfortable conversation between the brothers, 😄. You've tapped into the vein of teen angst exceptionally well, among the many other good things in this story.

I joined GA because of "Wolf like Me". Presley Gerber for Preston? I thought I read in a previous comment that you were leaning toward Chris Colfer as Preston's celebrity twin. The exchange between Preston and J.D. was EPIC!!!! So Good!! All the wondering about what split Drake and Jimmy apart brings to mind one of my favorite "Britcoms". There was an episode of "As Time Goes By" where Jean and Lionel encountered a honeymooning couple on a trip to Paris. The newlyweds had a fight on their honeymoon and were spending time apart; Jean encountered the bride, Lionel encountered the groom. The wife was so upset her husband made an "unreasonable demand", she was ready to go home. Come to find out her husband wanted her to open the window before they went to bed!! 😂 (It still tickles me over 20 years later). Anyway, that's my long winded way of saying I really hope the row between Drake and Jimmy was a matter of perspective and not something insurmountable. Really great chapter, thank you. Can't wait for next Monday. Oh and Preston really is an insecure prick.

Loved this chapter. As bad a start as Bella, Levi and Lincoln had, Kyle, Blu and company can absolutely turn it around. There will always be scars from what they endured with their Mom but the love and attention they are receiving now will make that a minor fault line in their foundation.

Great chapter. I loved Daniel's "Change of Heart" regarding campaigning as an openly gay candidate. Each character's storyline is so compelling separately, yet the chemistry between them all together is organic. Love how the story is unfolding.

Preston definitely isn't done with J.D. but J.D. is ready for him; He doesn't know he's met more than his match!! Wish his wife would stand up to him more but who knows what she deals with on a regular basis from him. I don't get the impression she's afraid of him but time will tell.

I LOVE JIMMY DEAN!!!! He is just what Drake needs, this weekend and beyond. Great chapter, excited for more.

This is around the first time Rachel should have started her nagging so no objection this time. (even though I still side eye every comment she makes) I love how comfortable Ryan is in his own skin now and understand that he applies his sense of self with his sister the same way he does with Ryan (it's the only way he hasn't shut her down by now). People think admitting their limitations is a sign of weakness or excuse to give up but it's one of the strongest things someone can do. When Ryan realized New York wasn't where he belonged anymore, he left, even walking away from what he knew would be a life changing relationship. I'm paraphrasing but-If you love something, set it free;. If it's meant to be yours, it will come back to you;. If it wasn't, it wasn't meant to be. Ryan and Erik are back to each other: Ryan is stable where Erik is not....unless he's with Ryan. Erik knows what he has to do, doing it isn't always easy. Another good chapter, Mr. H.

I am OVER the slapping. Being a human incubator is no excuse. As hardline as she is being with Ryder (and I understand it comes from her hurt) I think I can like her if she kept her hands to herself. Everything else was as good as it usually is.

After reading this on Nifty, I'm torn between reading every chapter as it's posted or letting a few build up to binge, as I can't wait for what comes next; So worth the re-read. One of the best stories online, anywhere.

Diaz needs to feel in charge and he needs Jake to feel weak, that's the pattern of their relationship and Diaz isn't interested in changing it. He may be an ignorant fool but Diaz is fighting for the only life he knows and I understand that. He knows Jake doesn't fit into that world and should want better for him but Diaz thinks better for Jake will make Jake better than him and he can't have that; It's sad really, because in thinking about the best for himself, Jake will have to leave Diaz behind. Jake already belongs more in Klaus' world than Diaz's. I can see him growing more confident in himself and his intellect and becoming more sophisticated. I don't know if Klaus will truly let him into his heart and his life but they could be a good couple if Klaus embraces love and monogamy. I look forward to the next part of the tale.

Nope, I can't agree with that part. They are in the slow lane but they were working toward that at their own pace. They came back from Erik's f^<k up in the car and he already said he didn't want to leave him. Erik is a nice guy who is even liked by her child, even as a concerned, (over)protective sister, Rachel had no right to interrogate him like he's poo on the bottom of her shoe. Love declarations between the guys should have NEVER involved her. Unless she only still sees a porn star (which is not necessarily a negative in my opinion), she owes Erik an apology before their wedding. WOOOO SAAAAA. On a different note, I know Ryan prefers to bottom in RL but he topped in the movies; Will he ever top Erik? Does either of them want that?
