  2. I am very excited to share my brand new short story with you guys. This one is called FIREFLY and is available for free. I wrote this one in one sitting as it was one of those occasions where everything just fell into place in my head. It is darker than my previous short story so it'll be different. Hope you guys like it. Let me know what you think. For 14 year old Jon, the best thing about his friend Patrick is his good-looking older brother, Spencer. It’s just a crush, after all – what harm could come from wanting to spend a little more time with Spencer? But when Jon’s crush grows from love into obsession, all the usual boundaries become blurred – and he becomes willing to risk everything to get what he wants. My new ebook FIREFLY is now available for FREE. Follow the link to download your copy. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/755179

Yep. Will be coming very soon! Thanks for waiting! :D

  4. I think it depends on what you ordered. If you only got a coffee, then I don't think it's fair for you to stay more than a couple of hours. Also depends on how busy the place is. Sometimes Cafes prefer to have customers at the tables to encourage more people to come in.
  5. My favourite Doctor is David Tennant. His acting was off the charts and I loved the storylines of his time. I like Matt Smith as a close second, he brought something new and fresh to the role but unfortunately this is when the show started going downhill for me. The storylines became more and more ridiculous (even by Doctor Who standards) and the companions worsened. I didn't mind Amy, she was too over-the-top at the start but then they wrote her better. Rose is my favourite companion and Donna a close second. Clara is the only companion I dislike. Her character was poorly written and the show's overall writing also suffered. I was a big Doctor Who fan with the Reboot but the past 2 or 3 series have turned me off the show completely. Russell T Davies made the show awesome.
  6. Working on my next short story. Always feel a bit anxious because I wonder if people will like it. In the end though, as long as I'm happy with it, that's what matters. If you stay true to yourself, people will see it, they will feel it and they will connect with your art. I believe that.

Sounds like you have a winning philosophy there, don't change it, work hard and stay positive. I would suggest you try and get a beta reader and/or editor. A fresh pair of eyes looking at your work from the out side might see somethings that are not apparent from your point of view. It could only help. An editor helps to improve the product, pointing out any observed short comings, areas to work on or improve. They work with you as a team. Your success is their only reward.

What ever you decide, the best of luck to you.

Thanks sandrewn for your advice. Having a beta reader is a must, I agree.

And thanks Page Scrawler. You're super nice! :)

  7. I have been playing this non-stop lately. I am really enjoying the game! I'm not one for shooters usually but I have seen a few videos and I was intrigued. I found the story fascinating from the opening scene. I haven't finished the story campaign yet (as I want to make this last as long as possible, lol) but I have also been playing a lot of the multiplayer action. I am very happy I gave this a go. Definitely worth the purchase! Oh and if you're interested, here's what my character looks like: (He's a Warlock) https://www.instagram.com/p/BZyd5DwlGiv/?taken-by=raphaelfarmer Anybody playing Destiny 2 here? Do you have a pic of your character?
  8. Loved this song since I was a kid. They have some awesome gems in their discography.
  9. Man, I've been so busy lately. Didn't even have enough time to write. It sucks. -_-'

Sounds like a good plan! :D

I gotta think of something to make for supper tomorrow. My 14 year old brother-in-law just joined the school soccer team today, and I wanted to have a little dinner party to mark the occasion. :gikkle:

Haha, awesome! You totally should have a dinner party to celebrate.

  10. Don't get hung up on the little things.
  11. The hardest thing to do is keep listening to your heart. There are so many voices out there that can keep you down, making you think there is no point in following your passion or your dreams. Though those voices can sometimes come from a good place, it doesn't mean they should be listened to. I am glad that you stuck with your passion and never gave up. I aim to do the same. I love writing, I'm a storyteller. Congratulations on your achievements and on your soon-to-be second published novel.
