  1. Yeah, poor Carter, he had struggled so much to make Aron's marriage work ... And now he has to un-do everything! As for your confusion, I totally get it! And it makes me feel all fuzzy inside! (That's not right, right?) Thank you for commenting as always!
  2. Ah, ah, what you're saying is correct ... But it's not a case of blindness in Aron's case, but rather something else. He'll practically say it at one point, and you can learn it all straight from the horse's mouth. And yes, he still has the same feelings for Carter. As for your question, the answer is a sound 'yes'. I won't leave readers in the dark, and it will be so clear that there won't be the slightest shadow of doubt as to what happened that day. Thank you for your comment!
  3. He, he, so the torture was all worth it, after all! Aron, ugh, the boy only needs a sign :)) Let's hope Carter rises to the occasion when that happens Glad to see you still keeping up with the story!
  4. Ah, it all happened when I was re-reading Alice in Wonderland - for the tenth time, I think. It's just one of my absolute favorites, and I still pick it up once in a while. And I was thinking, wow, what a trip! And, as someone noticed in one of the comments quite early on (@travlbug, you were the one to notice), Carter's family name sounds like Alice (Malis), and from there, I thought, how it would be if someone was faced with something so ridiculous as with a touch of magic, in a world that's not supposed to be magic at all. And I wanted my character to be someone who would try to reason with everything, but still participate, like Alice did, so that in the end, they could grow up and realize they need to conquer their fears That, and I was also writing some body swap short fanfic for one of my favorite fandoms (there I was just swapping two guys sort of in love with each other, but also in sort of denial since they are just teenagers) , and I realized just how funny this type of situation would be ... It all kind of rolled down the rabbit hole from that point onward, he, he. And thanks so much for the compliment! Really you're making me blush. Now I realize that inspiration is not a cut in stone thing. I think I just enjoy some really ridiculous things, as I watch some really quirky Japanese anime series, and the more ridiculous something is, the more it seems to hit the spot, lol. Thank you for your question! It was really fun to answer!
  5. Oh, yeah, that angst really got real for poor Carter. Well, I think he needs it! Call me a bad mom, but he needs to step up and show what he truly wants. After all, that's what growing pains are all about
  6. Ha, ha, you favoring Alex is just so funny! It looks like I failed to make him a truly unpleasant character after all! But it's okay. Even my baddies need people on their side, lol! Aron ... ah, sigh, sigh, sigh ... he's not exactly blind, but ... you know, it's like when you wish for something really, really bad, and you worry that it might be just ... your imagination ... Thank you for keeping up! Hugs!
  7. Yea, yea, yea, you're so right about Aron! Carter should have known better than walking away. But, if that had happened, I would not have had a story to tell, lol! Aron is Carter's superhero. He's the one who understands Carter, more even than the guy's own parents. And it all happened because of the labor of love Aron put into it. Of course, you are right, and Alex is who he is ... and therefore, that marriage could never work. Ah, well, and 'a fruit is a fruit' ... he, he ... Many hugs!
  8. Oh, oh, there are some very very very good points here! Sometime I think, dear godmom, that you're staring right into my brain! Your analysis of Aron is waaaay too spot on! There will be a little more on Aron's views of the world in a later chapter. You'll know exactly what I mean when we'll reach that bridge. Aron, the poor soul, just searched for years for someone like Carter, to the point that he agreed and became a willing participant in a charade that affected his life. As for his parents ... you couldn't be more on point. Aron's mom and dad would never want him to be unhappy. Ha, ha, Simon! Yeah, that would be a riot! The guy did like Carter a lot when our boy was in Alex's body. And what's not to like about Carter? Except for his quirky personality, he, he. And now on to responding to your other comment!
  9. Ha, ha, Wes, and yet still you managed to make a rather good play on words for Alex! As for your new avatar, is that a cat or a unicorn?
  10. Hey, thanks a lot for the appreciation! Yes, Carter and Aron are heading toward a new chapter in their lives, even in their friendship. As for Carter's explanation ... yeah, that will come, at the right time. Aron will get to enjoy the 'new and improved Carter', as you say, I promise :))
  11. Ah, I feel so touched by your comment to the story ... Thank you so much. Learning how readers perceive what I write is the awesomest reward (and yes, awesomest is not a word, but Carter would use it, so I'll keep up with him on this one). I'm glad to hear that you could relate to the character. He's very dear to my heart, and probably, from all the characters I've ever written, my favorite And I'm also glad that my story is the reason to look forward to Sundays. There will be several more, I promise Hugs, Laura.
  12. Chapter Twenty-Six – The Tin Man Who Didn’t Want A Heart It was a great thing he had Taz now, as he had a reason to go out of the house, and also to go jogging. Getting back to playing sports with buddies was not yet on his list of priorities, as he was still trying to get his life in order, and adjust to the post-Aron era, as he had come to call his life now. Taz was a great jogging partner. Adjustments to the shoebox, as he called his home now, had to be made, and the cabinets now hel
  13. Thank you for commenting! All will happen in due time As for your question about Mark ... I won't say anything
  14. Oh, wow, I so haven't thought of that, lol! Carter is finally a little honest, indeed. But he could do better! Hugs!
  15. Well, Carter will start planning! As for the choice Alex will make ... that will be a small surprise, too! All seen from Carter's POV, of course. I can assure you, the poor guy will have a little (maybe not so little) shock when he'll face Alex's reactions! As for Aron's parents, they will shower Carter with their affection again!
  16. Oh, no, it won't end! There are still several chapters left! Carter has his work cut out for him, so he needs a little more time!
  17. That's what I think, too!
  18. Hey, welcome back, you and your witty comments! Oh, lord, that Queen of Stone Heart comment ... Now I have a picture of Alex in my head, yelling 'off with his head'! Now, onto what kind of animal Alex should be, yes, I do believe the final battle should be between an ass and a piggy! Maybe with a touch of snake in it, just for good measure! As for Mark, what can I say? I just told him. 'Dude, you're here to complicate things.' And he said. 'Roger that.' Well, he had the doggy ready, just to push Carter in the right direction. Carter is ready. But, don't expect things to go as expected! The twists and turns don't end here! Or, at least, I will still manage to surprise you some more! See you next time!
  19. Oh, certainly! The ponytail girl is the key to everything And yes, everyone will meet her at the right moment. I lol'ed so hard at that Alex getting pregnant comment. (funny how my proofreading software tells me I should put 'the' before pregnant ... so it can be a thing to 'get the pregnant', lol!)
  20. Ah, dear godmother, I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Mark so much! And yes, Carter did make the right choice. As for Alex ... yeah, that's an accurate description, I'm afraid. And, yeah, toxic people have a way of contaminating the surroundings, wherever they go. Aron did have some clues, that's right, as for your assumption, yeah, Alex is pretty much one of Aron's biggest mistakes. You know, the kind one may end up struggling with for a very long time. Also ... ugh, there will be more and more surprises along the way. One twist - oh, damn - I think no one will expect ... But hey, this is Wonderland, and the world is pretty much down on its head (or up, or ...) so I'm making the rules, lol! Ha, ha, I liked the heel-clicking routine - Dorothy would also be proud. Crossing fantasy lands like a boss!
  21. Ah, thank you for pointing out the mistake. It's hard sometimes to keep track of the characters' names, lol. Oh, Carter will have more guts from now on. Especially since he's well aware of his feelings for Aron, now. Glad you like Mark! Yeah, he's awesome. And, as a side note, I always update on Sundays. Keeping a schedule keeps me sane. Hugs!
  22. And yet another amazing string of very descriptive qualities! Wes, you're making dictionaries envious, I bet!
  23. Ha, ha, I wasn't expecting that! Alex does leave a long lasting impression, after all, as I predicted. Glad you enjoyed the chappie!
  24. Thank you! There is still plenty of the story to tell So there's a little more until the finish line.
