Hmm, I totally see how this situation could be interpreted like that. Aron has his reasons to appear so insensitive, and I can bet it will all come as a be of a surprise when it will be revealed. I don't want to sound evil - since I'm the only one who knows how things really stand - but it's really interesting to see how readers see the whole thing. There is just so much in front of him, and so many new things to deal with, including seeing other faces of his best friend, faces he doesn't know. Hey, thanks for commenting! Well, I feel a bit evil here, not letting you guys know what is really going on, but everything is told through Carter's eyes, and what he doesn't know is not revealed either. If it makes you feel better, Carter is a bit confused, too. Let's not forget that he knows Aron well, only not from this perspective Please, forgive me and don't hate me too much I will surely take care to reveal everything when the story gets to that point.

This story will be entirely related through Carter's eyes and by him. So, what he doesn't know cannot be revealed. Unless, of course, he starts to do his own work of uncovering the truth about everything, including Aron's and Alex's relationship. The thing is we do things in life for various reasons, some stranger than most. Aron does have and did have his reasons to marry Alex. How much everything makes sense, that will be a bridge that will be crossed when the story gets there. So, when Carter will find out why Aron married Alex, so will everyone I just hope it won't be too taxing for readers to wait for various points to be revealed, and that Carter's way towards the truth and his own feelings will be entertaining enough to compensate for the wait.
