Not sure I like the direction Puppy's life is taking. IMHO he seems to be in the midst of a slightly abusive relationship and Hunter seems rather high maintenance if you ask me. Puppy,dump him, once and for all, and move on. You deserve better.

Sui, I love these additional little vignettes we get. I for one are hoping they keep on coming. Like all of your stories, I hate to see it end. The juxtaposition between Jihad and Laner is sad. She married for love and ended up in a loveless marriage. Jihad was forced into a loveless marriage and ended up finding his soul mate.- 14 comments

You haven't indicated what level of service the hotel would be providing. Do you envisage a porter service, a doorman, possibly a concierge. Don't forget about crockery and cutlery,guest amenities (soaps, shower gels, shampoo etc), bar service etc. Just a few thoughts! Why do I get the feeling something valuable might be lurking in the cave?

Just finished reading this beautiful story for the second time. As always, your storytelling ability never fails to amaze me. Love your work. Cannot decide which one I like the most, but this one is right up there.

Really hope this is a wake up call for Puppy, otherwise I see a lot of drama ahead for him. In some ways he is quite mature but in others he is very naive. Loving the whole series so far.

Sui, if these three chapters ( and hopefully one or two more to come) are what you have working on for the past two months, then all is forgiven for the long wait. Absolutely amazing storytelling. Drama, intrigue, suspense, murder, mayhem - it's all there. Please don't keep us waiting too long for the next chapter. I don't think my nerves will take it. Really great writing!!

Thank you for hearing my plea. Fantastic chapter as always. Here I thought we were getting the final chapter and as I read further and further it became quite clear that there was still too much happening for all the loose ends to be tied up. So happy we will be getting at least one more chapter. Looking forward to it. I think it's going to be a blast and the emperor is going to be surprised, as will Rushi. Cannot wait!

Oh the joys of being responsible for children. Goes with the territory I'm afraid. Alex could have been infected by just eating a piece of fruit that hadn't been washed properly. I just love this story. @cljobe I must commend you not only for a great read (I wait in anticipation for each new chapter), but also for your dedication in getting two chapters posted daily. THANK YOU!!

My apologies for only replying to you comment now. Been really busy with book 2 and life in general. Thank you for your wonderful comment. I guess when you are writing about something you really enjoy it comes through on the page. Most of it is from personal experiences, but it does entail a certain amount of research, especially when it comes down to small details. Thank you for taking the time to read 'Never walk alone'. I had fun writing it. Book 2 is coming along nicely although not as quickly as I had planned or hoped. But I am getting there.

I can see the cabin becoming a retreat for the boys in their later roles as well. Somewhere to disappear, just unwind, and escape for some R&R.

Just had another thought. If Jason is under the direct employ of the king, and he does well, he is possibly in a position to acquire an enormously influential ally. Margaret will have to watch herself.

How I wish I had a teacher like Adam when I was at school. I was one of those kids who were fine in class, understanding everything, but when if came to tests and exams I was a wreck. When I think of school, the first thought is of my Maths teacher, a woman who reeked of cigarette smoke and had fingers stained yellow to her knuckles. I still shudder at the thought. And she couldn't teach her subject properly. Had to go to a tutor twice a week to cover the same material.

Arlene has been on a bit of a power trip. Now she's been cut off at the knees. Methinks there are more battles ahead and that blood will be spilt. Figurively speaking only - I hope!
