I got to thinking. (I know, often dangerous in my case) Motherhood is one of those things that no matter how ready you think you are.... you're not. From the moment you find out you're pregnant your life changes drastically. Let's face it, bringing a squalling little creature that does nothing but practice bodily functions and demand to be fed and cuddled is a daunting task. Its also a neverending task. Parenting in general is hard whether you're a mom or a dad. This tiny human gets bigger, learns to walk & talk. You try to teach them right from wrong and how to sort laundry. You make sure their basic needs are met and in return they occasionally take out the trash without being asked. You celebrate them hitting their first home run in Little League, then wonder why you have to remind them to use soap when they bathe. You spend countless hours volunteering at school, or sports, driving thousands of miles to and from practices and games. You willingly hand over the keys and thank good fortune for them passing their driving test and you no longer have to bear the title of chaffeur. You do a happy dance as they fly the nest whether it's to college or to strike out on their own. Then you bawl your eyes out as soon as they're out of sight. There are plenty of days when you look at them, covered in liquid laundry detergent from head to toe grinning like an idiot as the soap sinks into the rug beneath their feet and ask yourself if it's worth it. Some days you question every decision that has brought you to this moment. Then the little cretin looks at you and says "I love you Mom." That's when you know it's worth it. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. (Yes, the furry ones count too). Enjoy your day!

Omg... she's not that bad. A little too ADHD & OCD for my liking, but I have no problem telling her to dial it back a few notches when she starts acting like a squirrel on speed. I had to do that a couple of days ago. She apologized and admits she can be a bit much. At this point in the game, I'm kinda glad I don't have to deal with all the problem children that property management comes with. My favorite words? Let me transfer you.

She's on vacation next week....going to Florida. She lived there before and is scouting out retirement places. See ya.

People's stupidity no longer surprises me. I had to go to Boston today for a trade show/expo. Nope. Never again. Boston traffic is a nightmare on the best of days and today was a better day for it overall, and I was still stuck on the Pike for 45 minutes in stop and go bull$#!+. Our maintenance guy made it to the convention center then drove around for an hour trying to find a garage that wasn't full. He never did. Then my manager apparently paid for us but didn't actually register us. And if course she bailed last minute yesterday, so it took being sent to 3 different lines to get a damn lanyard. I don't do well with crowded, noisy places. Let's just say I made an appearance and noped out of there after an hour. I was back on the Pike before noon. Did a little bit of retail therapy before going home so I would avoid one of the idiot sister-in-laws who always shows up on Thursdays. Mission accomplished. Time for a nap. Lol. Have a good afternoon y'all!

They. Don't. Care.

That comedian is a hoot. I'd go see one of his shows.

No loss of consciousness. Just momentarily stunned. Now I'm starting to feel where I apparently richocheted off my upper back too. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. He'll appreciate this:

I haven't priced eggplant in a couple of months or so. I bought one when I got a whole bunch of stuff to roast and I still have a little bit of those veggies in the freezer. I think the eggplant was around $2 or so. I got myself out of cooking today the hard way. I woke up at 530am and got up to go to the bathroom. Next thing I know, I'm flat on my back on the floor with a beautiful egg blooming on the back of my head and hubs hovering over me asking if I was alright. Yeah. I'm ok. I have no idea what happened. I think I just got up too fast and the blood pressure tanked. Either that or I was still too sleepy to attempt walking. I dunno. Now I've just got a slight headache and a sore back. I'll just add it to the other daily aches and pains. But anyways, we're going out to eat. His sisters still haven't said anything about driving the MIL out to Indiana. Supposedly they are leaving this weekend. I'm all for having a break from caretaking a 91 year old, but a heads up would be nice. Not to mention it's effing stupidity to subject this poor woman to two days of at least 8 to 10 hours of bring stuck in a car. Then keep her for 3 weeks without any kind of anxiety meds when she's going to be in an unfamiliar house and I'm guaranteeing her confusion and incontinence will get worse. Then subject her to two more days of long travel coming home so we can deal with the repercussions of the fallout from the trip. Just what I want to come home to after my vacation at the end of the month. Why they don't fly her out and back, I don't know. At least that would only be one long travel day at each end. My in-laws are not the brightest. Enough of a rant. Sorry. I'm a bit cranky today. May the 4th be with you.

The child is meeting two of his cousins for sushi tonight. The MIL went out for lunch for some great-grandkids birthday (I don't keep track, there's too many nieces/nephews and greats to keep track of). She won't be very hungry for dinner. I decided to throw a lasagna together. Leftovers will be appreciated on my late night to work and I don't cook. I'm sure you'll get your Chinese food this week. Your man is good about things like that 😁.

Camden hated me this winter. Poor guy got dragged out of Florida only to be subjected to 4 months of arctic blasts and snow deeper than he is tall. He's not super well traveled but he has been to Kansas and Maryland. Plus four days in Tallahassee bunking in with 4 college kids during a hurricane lol. He's mostly a good boy. He is part dachshund so any bad behavior comes from those genes I'm sure. Lol

Genetically, I've lucked out in the teeth department. Other than an overbite that is part genetics and part me sucking two fingers backwards until I was 7 or 8, I've only needed a few fillings and a crown when one of the teeth with the old amalgam filling cracked. I did not like feeling the ground down tooth stump that was there for a week or so while the crown was being made. Even with insurance, I think it was still several hundred dollars out of pocket. A necessary evil lol Anyhoos...looking forward to the new story! Also... I play Wordle occasionally and today my first guess gave me S and R, not in the right spot. My next guess? Swear Was I right? Yup 😆 Have a good day everyone!

Hmmm.....Forbidden Knowledge. Methinks I see Googling terms no straight, seeing-60-looming-in-the-not-so-distant-future, ex-band mom should ever have cross her pristine vocabulary. ☺️🤭 -
For some reason, this resonated with me: I try on futures like coats too bright, too thin, too warm and leave them hanging Thanks for sharing tim xo

I put myself through the same thing every year. Knowing me, I'll hem and haw about it and then panic-write something the week before it's due. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment too. Enjoy your day y'all!
