I had a donut too on my layover in Chicago. Boston cream was my pick of the day... plus a coffee from Dunkin.

I am off to my happy place tomorrow. Flight leaves at 615am. Going home to Mass. I'm so looking forward to getting a break from this heat and humidity!

If you ever get a chance to do an Alaskan cruise... go for it!. Its in my top three of favorite vacations. Virgin Voyages is a great option for adults only cruises. If you can afford it, there are a few small ships that have itineraries that can get into the smaller ports that the big ships can't. Lindblad and UnCruise come to mind, but they are pricey. The Rocky Mountaineer is sitting in the top three of my bucket list.

That trip is on my bucket list too. I've been to Canada a few times and would love to see some more sights. I've heard that there's a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant in the Toronto area.

Speaking of those little devils... @Mikiesboy did you remember to make sure there's a big enough dog house for @weinerdog and @Gary L's pups? We don't want them ruining the rugs in the new place.

I know exactly how you feel.

You do realize that he uses real handcuffs and not the fuzzy kind?

Shhhh... do you have a death wish Omg... you have a death wish.

Ah yes... donuts. I thought the billboard I took out was enough to let everyone know about my love of those sweet, delicious pastries.

"Hi! Its kbois. You can call me K. I appreciate a beautiful sunset. Sunrises are not my thing, they happen way to early. I'm a die hard dog person, although I have a begrudgingly affinity for a certain tiger/calico kitten who is trying to claim my chair as her own. Good luck, I say. I have a weird sense of humor so try to keep up. If you like steak well done, I'm sorry but we can't be friends. As for biting, I only bite if provoked (or asked nicely under certain circumstances)"

Picking out new wall colors and decor is always a challenge. Has anyone seen the box with the silverware?

Cia, how long will the poll be open? I've got to refresh my memory and at least glance at all of them again. At least I'll be on vacation starting Friday.

I do have a big change coming up but as you know, I've dealt with several challenges the past couple of years so it probably has affected my creativity. I'm hoping once things are settled I'll be able to write again 🤞

Pretty much everything I do lately seems to sew seeds of self-doubt in my head. I’ve been in a writing slump for going on two years now. Sure, I've spat out a few short things and I've started two longer stories and stalled on both of them. I have written down ideas for at least five others but it seems like the switch in my brain is stuck on off. I have other things going on too that will be a big change in my life and everyday I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. Only time will tell. In the meantime I force myself to do things that have to get done and try to remind myself that I can get through this. It can be hard to have a positive outlook, but I'm trying. I'm hoping this change will turn things around in my life and then maybe I can finish those stories. I know the spark is there. I just need to find the confidence to bring it to life. 🩷

Laugh for the day: One of my brothers called me yesterday to chat. His granddaughter just turned 5. He was babysitting her when things got real quiet. Never a good sign. When he went to check on her, he discovered her finger painting the lower kitchen cabinets. He said the conversation went like this: Him: E, what do you think you're doing? E: Making poor life choices Him (trying not to laugh): Why? E: (deadpans) Because sometimes you gotta say f**k it. He said all he could do was laugh. I told him that I know parenting has changed a lot with all this "gentle parenting " stuff, but you still have to pick your battles and with one sentence that little kid won thr war. 🤣😂😅 He knows where she picked up that phrase. Her mom apparently uses it semi-frequently. Kids will parrot anything peeps... anything you say. Also... I'm using that in a story at some point lol. Have a good day and stay cool!

It's only been the past couple of years that I've learned how important listening is. My son will talk about what happened to him in a very specific, and repetitive way. It's always difficult to keep my thoughts to myself because so much of his thinking comes out as being very hurtful to others. I've learned not to contradict him and just let him be heard. I did read some news accounts of what happened in your area. Sad to say, its similar to a lot of incidents in the US. There are always two sides to every story and the only ones who know the truth are those involved. In almost every case like this, alcohol is a huge contributor. There's so much on the line for everyone involved. I can see why this case went from a jury trial to a judgemental one. In the US, the prosecution has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. This is virtually impossible with the circumstances that were provided. All around its a very sad case where the repercussions will last a lifetime.

This is a very powerful article. I wish I had seen this back when we were dealing with the fallout from what happened to my son. Thanks for sharing tim.

Does this mean we can add adjectives and verb tenses to our vocabulary? Quicklier, Quicklierer, Quicklierest. Quicklier, Quickliering, Quicklieren Also: This is why we can't have nice things. 🤣🤣

Today's thrift store browsing ended up costing me about $75.... which I guess isn't too bad. Thrifting turned into hanging out at my friend's pool for a couple of hours while her nephew smoked salmon and made bacon wrapped asparagus and dirty rice. Omg... it was sooooo good. After dinner, we played Catan which is a really interesting board game. It seems super complicated, but once you figure out what is actually supposed to happen, it makes sense. Sort of. A few adult beverages help immensely. Let's just say I lost spectacularly. All in all, it was a good day.
