Congratulations on being the first real comment on the chapter lol. It hasn't been quite 10 years. I couldn't decide on a number so I left it at "the better part of a decade". I think in my head it's been 7 or 8. Still...a decent amount of time to grow up and look at things from an adults perspective. Troy will always be in Miles' heart and vice versa. What remains to be seen is whether or not their paths will ever cross again and what skeletons are lurking in his closet.

I talked to him a little bit ago and he said he could open everything just fine. I'm done trying to figure these people out lol I just got done programming keys for a transfer that was supposed to be tomorrow. It's for a church who rents apartments for their missionaries. They have two units at our property. The elder guy showed up this morning and of course our manager is in the corporate office this week and was supposed to have had everything done. Did she? No. Of course not. She tells me to do the lease and then goes and does it. Argh. Make up your mind you ADHD squirrel on speed! So I had to go program their key fobs while the elder dude went to get money orders for the security deposit. She didn't tell him we needed that either. Oh...and in the middle of all this I have tour come in and two separate residents locked themselves out. I can't even ask Jesus to take the wheel at this point. Gonna be one of those days lol.

He literally had to access the document in order to print it. He was there. In the document. It was open. I have no idea why he bailed and chose to print out 50 some-odd pages. He also missed a bunch of places that had to be initialed so he would have had to redo it anyways. Oy.

Reminds me of when I worked in travel and every time a certain coworker called anywhere that had an automated menu she would literally holler "AGENT AGENT AGENT AGENT AGENT" until the system finally transferred her or one of us yelled "Patti SHUT UP" Omg... Loved her to death but she was a square peg in a round hole. I don't blame you for hanging up. Try online. I was able to remove my son from our policy and didn't have to make a call.

I am pondering a question this morning. If one renders an explanation several times to the same individual and stresses that documents now have to be signed online, why did said individual go into his resident portal and print out the document, sign it manually (which is like 20 different places on an 55 page lease), then scan the whole thing and email it to us? He was in the portal. All he had to do was click on the first highlighted box, type his name and hit next. His signature will drop onto any highlighted area. Click on yellow, hit next. Repeat until you get to the end and hit submit. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I've seen a lot of not intelligent things in property management. This one settles in the top 5. Today is another beautiful day. I love that this chapter started with retail therapy....it fixes a lot. Nos still has some issues to work through but I have faith!

Troy is transitioning and knows that it's time to start adulting. These time jumps are necessary. I don't think it adds anything to the story to dwell on the fallout from the breakup. A sort of rendition of the painting is on the Korner Krew club page.

Well said. I think for the most part Troy has moved on, but for like so many people, his first love will always hold a special place in his heart. I also think he might be a tad gun shy with fully committing to Owen. Let's face it, young people really don't know Jack shit about life and love.

I was hoping that someone would pick up on that. You're right. Troy's reaction to the painting leads me to think that he still has a flicker of feeling for Miles. Is it just nostalgia for his first love, or is it lingering true feelings? We don't know what he thinks is the reason for Miles leaving. I did that on purpose you know. Gotta leave you guys hanging. Next disaster? Haven't there been enough so far?

I was married at 24. Honestly, too young. I had no clue in life. Sometimes I feel like I did what was expected of me. I did wait to have kids so that's a plus. It's been up and down and I feel like if I had waited I wouldve been better able to navigate those early years better. So yes, they are both still young and have some growing up to do. The journey will hopefully be worth it.

The time jumping is necessary because A) no one needs multiple chapters of them dealing with breakup fallout and B.) I try to stay away from really young characters in a serious relationship.
