    Chapter 1

Yay! I broke Mags! Lol But in all seriousness, its good to hear from you. This story was refreshing to write. I set out to tell it like it is. Most of what's here is true to my life... yes, I was a shit-scared 6 year old who got grounded for two weeks because her friend called the fire department. Hopefully, I can get back to writing now that I've moved back to Massachusetts. I feel calmer. The worlds that authors open up to their readers is limitless. Being a secret author is fun and this was my nod to that. Thanks Mags! Your comments are always very much appreciated. 🩷
  2. Wow... I bought 10lbs of boneless chicken breast yesterday. Today I trimmed it, which wasn't very much, they did a great job. But holy cluckers... these hens must've been WWE wrestlers... their boobs were huge! LOL! I got 19 individual pieces all bagged up and in the freezer. Have a great day everyone!
  3. There's always a few pieces of chicken that get set aside for good doggos... so its up to you. Definitely no spaghetti though. Sauce is not good for pups.
  4. Nope... no fun but luckily we were in and out in about 20 minutes.
  5. No... I have to unpack some kitchen boxes. I know there's some in one of them. We're off to Walmart for a few things. Be back later
  6. If I do, is there an initiation into the LOTR fan club? My kids would never tell me when I asked.
  7. Too bad I've only seen bits and pieces of all the movies.
  8. Now that I'm settled, I have taken over cooking duties. When we went to return the rental truck we went by a butcher/grocery store that has the best meats so of course we stopped on the way back. $200 later..... I got chicken thighs, boneless breasts, a sirloin roast, pork sausage, some large bags of frozen veggies, a huge bag of chicken nuggets for my son, some frozen dumplings that looked really good, salmon filets, cod filets and a couple of other things. Tonight I cooked all the chicken thighs, there's enough for at least 3 meals for four people and spaghetti. I had leftover homemade sauce from when I was here a couple if weeks ago. My spices were handy so the chicken was done half with smoked maple brown sugar rub and the other half with a honey garlic rub. Dinner was a hit and I have officially been granted a chefs hat and apron lol.
  9. Not my fault I'm not a LOTR geek.
  10. And who's fault is that?
  11. Omg... I had to look it up. In J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, Balrogs are demonic, fire-wielding monsters and Maiar, angelic beings corrupted by Morgoth. They are tall, menacing, and can shroud themselves in shadow and flame. Balrogs are armed with fiery whips and sometimes use long swords. REALLY??????
  12. Yeah... we are a lot closer now, but I know how much the guys value their privacy. I would need to be vetted by @MichaelS36. I might be able to pass. 🤷‍♀️
  13. That would require me finding the yeast. Its a possibility.
  14. I just want to smell your house all day on bread baking day!
  15. Truck is unloaded and it may be a tad bit selfish but I barely lifted a finger. I had nothing left in me after packing up 98% of the entire household, loading about 60% of it and driving 100% of roughly 1300 miles by myself. Hubby, son, and brother-in-law did the honors. Hubby only fell off the ramp once... banged up but no permanent damage to person or property... I did warn them all to be careful.
  16. Managed to get one more Florida sunset as we drove off Friday night.
  17. Ah yes... and hot dog buns split on the top the way nature intended. Why anyone thought a side split was a good idea is beyond me.
  18. I've driven through DC and NYC a million times. I just shouldn't have listened to my GPS. Lobster... yes. Lobster roll...no (I hate mayo) Boston cream pie is ok if it has extra custard. New England knows how to do pizza and Chinese food. Good Mexican is harder to find though. Its so good to be home ❤️
  19. Yes I am. It's good to be home.
  20. Yesterday morning GPS said 11 hours 36 minutes going thru DC and NYC. Skirting around said 13 hours 44 minutes. We opted for the shorter route.....14 hours later..... my weary butt unglued itself from the seat and thankfully my legs didn't buckle when my feet hit the ground. Traffic, a couple of rain showers, a thunderstorm and a few short rest stops rounded out our day. Oh... and my GPS did not know that I was in a 16 foot box truck and routed me up one of the Parkways in New York which has low bridges. Thankfully I was able to exit before my 10' 6" truck met a 9' 8" overpass. That added to our time. But we made it safe and sound, sleepy and sore, but happy. Have a good day everyone!
  21. We've decided to knock off early tonight and bite the bullet and go through DC & NYC tomorrow. It'll shave almost 2 hours off seeing how its a Sunday. We got about halfway through North Carolina. Not too bad.
  22. When did he leave?
  23. Noles..... all the way. Also... I was watching the game with my brother who went to MIT (yeah... smart ass overachiever lol) when Doug Flutie made his hail Mary pass.
  24. Oi. Packing a truck in August heat is brutal. Been at it since 10am with lots of breaks. Help is coming in about an hour and it should wrap up pretty quick after that. I'd say at least 80% is loaded. Got some more smaller items to go, then its just the heavy stuff that there's no way I can help with. Hopefully we'll be on the road around 6 and then stop by 8 and find a hotel. I need a damn shower.

    Chapter 1

Thanks for reading, everyone. This year I felt like doing something a little tongue-in-cheek. I think I succeeded.
