This was a really good read that brought back a lot of similar memories. My one and only foray into downhill skiing was somewhat similar to yours, but my mountain wasn't nearly as big. It did involved me crashing into my friend and tumbling down the slope a good 300 feet or so. We couldn't untangle ourselves cuz we were laughing so hard. Luckily two guys stopped to help. I also discovered that when you walk down the mountain under the ski lift you get laughed at. Innsbruck is beautiful. Went there on a high school trip my senior year. Somewhere I have pictures from the top of the Olympic ski jump (we climbed a gazillion stairs to get there, but the view was worth it!) Keep writing and keep posting.

Okay...my phone has been wonky or else I'm an idiot. I lost the ability to respond to anything in the DiC and was going nuts. I somehow left the group. Have no idea how. (Unless I got booted....you can't get rid of me that easy😆.....but ya gotta admit it was quiet all day!) Anyway...thanks @Mikiesboy for the update on Molly. Was getting a little worried. @Kitt @spyke Hang in there. It's gotta end soon. Damn groundhog! @rickproehl Loved your joke. Random information...a co-worker went to India a few years ago and had a side trip to Kathmandu. The guide explained that Himalayan is actually pronounced Him-all-yan and not Him-a-lay-an. As soon as she said that my world cracked just a little. I now can't unhear that pronunciation 😁 Hope everyone is okay.

As I read this chapter the old commercial "Coke, It's The Real Thing" popped into my brainn only I thought "Will. He's The Real Thing"☺😆 Great chapter Mark. Mark has created a monster in Will. He's for sure a work in progress. It's so damn hard to remember that he's so damn young. Will probably would've intimidated the hell out of younger me. Old me can't wait to see him evolve into someone I'd like to kick back, have a few drinks and share a blunt with. 🤣🤣

Sooooo.....we interviewed someone today and its most certainly a hard 'no'. Not quite sure she understood interview etiquette, but it was really difficult to even try to ask the question "why should we hire you?" after she went off about her last three bosses who always yelled at her and the last job she had they let her go after two days because she wasn't the right fit. Never, ever, ever trash a previous employer during the interview process....just sayin. Wow.

Good morning! I hope everyone is ok and thawing out. We've got rain again. But that's ok. We're doing interviews this week to find a replacement for me (my old position). It's hard trying to find your clone...lol. So farthe kids in the park have been behaving. My biggest issue has been the AC in the clubhouse not working. Luckily it's the fan motor and an easy (and relatively cheap) fix. Stay warm and dry and have a good day!

Good Morning everyone! Hope everybody is doing okay with all the extreme weather going on. It's still unseasonably warm here, but rainy. Rain at this time of year makes the roads slick when it mixes with oil residue that's built up over the past few dry months. Stay safe and warm.

I lost my car keys on the Superman coaster there not long after we moved to Maryland. Had one of those keys with the computer chip. Had to wait for my brother in Mass to send me a new one. The local dealer wanted over $100. My brother worked at a dealership at the time so he got me one for free. After I got it we found a magnetic hide-a-box with a spare key 🤪

I'm pretty sure that I'll be eligible for the Covid vaccination by the time the next once-in-a-lifetime pandemic hits. Florida is majorly bass-ackward. The residents here are pushing to have large group gatherings again. Ummmm....nope. I might consider something they can hold outside. I'm going to ask my manager if maybe we can purchase a few 10x10 canopy tents and they can be set up outside with a select few people allowed inside to access the kitchen. Not very many of them have been vaccinated yet and they aren't the best at mask wearing complicity. Hope everyone has a good day!

I enjoyed reading this story. It took me longer than usual. Life is hectic and I'm juggling a lot, so this was a nice break for me. I liked the use of Vincent's wolf's point of view and thoughts. There were a few parts where the edges were a little rough with the writing style, but overall, well done for your first tale. Looking forward to seeing how the gang does in the next installment.

I totally get it. My dad passed away on Father's Day 2016. That's been tough for me the past few years. Quiet is good.

Hi everyone! Happy Valentines Day. Not really a favorite holiday of mine, mostly because I think you should celebrate love everyday. I'd much rather get a text out of the blue that says 'I love you' than a card on a Hallmark holiday. Have a good day, stay safe, warm and dry. We're supposed to get rain for the next few days, and unlike most of you it's going to be unseasonably warm, which means humid. 💘🥰

I have been driving for nearly 40 years. I've been fortunate and have never had been at fault in an accident. I've been hit a couple of times and have walked away unhurt. I've seen pretty much every driving condition. I'm lucky that I haven't had to deal with winter conditions in 10 years. Torrential, sudden downpours? Those suck. The most scared I have ever been was during one of those where I couldn't see the front end of my car and knew there were cars in front and behind me and a 10 foot drainage ditch next to me. Snow, sleet, ice, rain, high winds...all of it is unleashed by nature...a force much bigger and more powerful than we are. Please give it the respect it deserves, stay home, off the roads. Keep yourselves safe. @Starrynight22 I hope you don't have to stay at work...be safe. @Kitt I too, wish I could get paid for being wrong.. I'd probably be rich lol. @MichaelS36 As a cop I'm sure you saw more than your fair share of the consequences of poor driving decisions. Even though you no longer do that job, thank you for having done it. Update: the unapproved occupant who's truck I had towed is now in jail, at least for the weekend. He mouthed off to the judge at his hearing yesterday. His ex-wife is trying to get him Baker acted and placed under Adult Protective Services. She refused to post bail.

True, there is no cure but I have a feeling the treatment process is a major ordeal! 🤣

I spent the entire time reading this cursing at you. Words never to be repeated. It's official. My brain has converted to pure sludge. I don't think I've been this mentally exhausted in quite some time. I stood at my kitchen counter this morning getting ready to leave, mentally ticking off .. keys? ✔ phones? ✔ thumb brace? ✔ mask? ✔ purse ✔... and off I go. Several of you are now whispering to yourself "oh no. She forgot coffee". Sure enough, 2 miles down the road I reach for my Tervis and...."oh shit". It was Dunkin's to the rescue. I made it to work still in human form. HOA is taking care of George the security nazi. Another resident called me to let me know that her brother was trying to stay with her after being kicked out by his wife. Dude had the balls to change the address on his license to here at the park. Ummmm...no. He left his truck with expired tags in my parking lot. I just watched the tow truck haul it outta here. I'm not playing. Half day tomorrow and then I can collapse into a pile of goo. Need. Want. Must Have.

I was going to refrain from commenting on my new job until the end of the week, but you know how my life goes..... I knew what I was getting into and came into this with my eyes wide open. I was warned. Thoroughly. I just hoped I'd have more than two days before I had to deal with utter bullshit. Let me just preface everything by saying that security is a high priority with everyone. There is a resident who volunteered to patrol the community at night in a golf cart provided by the HOA. He has managed to become a 'security nazi' in less than a week. He's scared a resident while 'patrolling' along the fence line and not identifying himself and he's brought me a laundry list of flaws within the park (most of which I had already addressed with the actual HOA when I met with them). I've had daily updates 🙄. Today was the straw that broke the damn camel's back. He asked me this morning if we vetted all of the contractors who came into the park. *Sigh* If I did that I'd have no time for anything else. I told him that when a resident hires a contractor to do anything to their home it is their responsibility to make sure that contractor is licensed and insured. I take care of of contractors who we hire. This dude took it upon himself to call the county Code Enforcement and sic them on a contractor who is working on someone's house. I know this contractor, we spent 2 years building a relationship with him and this idiot just undermined that in one day. 🤬 I now look forward to shutting this guy down. If need be I'll have upper management ban him from acting as 'security'. We will hire a security firm in a heartbeat and when their site fees get jacked up next year I'll tell every single person that complains to call George. Urgh! On a lighter and happier note I came home and my son was in his room jamming to AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' on an old snare drum he dragged out of the black hole that is his closet. That segues into Fleetwood Mac and U2. I cracked up! Hope everyone has a good evening! @mollyhousemouse...I now get emails that require me to: "acknowledge you received this email, you've read this email and you understand this email" 🤦‍♀️

So many people get stressed when it comes to taking any kind of test. Good luck to your boyfriend! Cookies are a cure-all for just about anything. My mom swore that if any of my brothers hadn't stopped by for a while all she had to do was make a batch of choc chips and they'd show up. Just like that... *POOF* cookies gone! Sounds like you got a good deal on the boyfriend!
