I lucked out, I truly did. I really like this doctor and she's part of a small practice, just her and her husband. The majority of the practices in this state are part of corporate chains.

Okay I'm going to have to jump on the @Wayne Gray bandwagon and support the whole "go see the damn doctor and get routine maintenance done!" I had my follow up appointment today to go over lab work. Mixed bag of results, but overall not horrible. Blood pressure is still high so the meds got adjusted. The majority of the labs were normal. The one thing I worried a about was the status of my previous diabetes diagnosis. I was put on medication but let it lapse when we didn't have insurance. So 3 years of having no clue as to how my body was processing natural insulin and sugar and what kind of damage was being done. Levels are still elevated, but only slightly, falling into the 'pre-diabetic' category, which means it will be monitored and if I can get past this damn plateau I've been stuck on since mid-December and get back to losing weight it will in all likelihood resolve itself. So that was a big relief. Knees still suck. Getting referred to an ortho to possibly get some injections. So, if you're scared of the doctor, try not to be and go. It's not so bad. 🙂

(Side note; in my nursing home job way back when, we had Dr. Suess' cousin as a resident. She was the most crotchety, miserable, racist old lady you ever wanted to deal with. But she was funny.) It just boggles my mind that people are so self-centered that they so readily put someone else's safety at risk because they're too idiotic to hit three numbers on their phone. You don't even need to unlock it. All phones are capable of calling 911, even if they're locked. I consoled myself by attempting to make cauliflower pizza crust. It was.... a mostly successful endeavor. Taste wise I really like it. Texture wise, I need to fine tune it. All recipes call for you to squeeze the life out of the cauliflower to get all the moisture out to make a crispy crust. Mine..... needed a fork. Not super soggy, but a little limp in the middle. The edges crisped up okay. Next time I'll use frozen cauliflower rice to save time. All in all I consider it a success and will try it again.

Okay, let's just lay it out there. I love Loe, but his head is buried sooooooooo far up his own ass, Jay's gonna need a set of forceps and a lot of lube to pry it out! I'm talking baby delivering, salad spoon forceps. 🤣🤣🤣

My job. *shakes head sadly* I take my safety seriously. The city I work in has a fairly high crime rate. The area where my community is located is close, but not part of some neighborhoods known for a lot of different illegal activities. Occasionally we have some rather suspicious people within the park. There is one rule, and one rule only that I adhere to and that is: If you see something suspicious call 911. End of discussion. Our community liaison with the Sheriff's department has said it 1000 times. I just got chewed out by a resident pissed at me because I won't go confront a homeless person squatting in their backyard. Now, logically I'm sure the person is harmless, but, you NEVER know! When I asked the resident if they confronted the person, I got hung up on. In what world is this okay? You won't go confront someone but you expect me to? Not knowing if they're carrying a gun or other weapon? Not knowing if they're strung out or hallucinating? WTF people? Sorry, had to vent.

Oof.... Joy. One of those annoying morning people you want to throw off the nearest cliff. At least she redeemed herself with her support. Kyle has some work to do in the educational and suck up departments. Jarrod has some work to do to get over his jealousy and semi-caveman attitude. I think they'll both get there eventually. It's nice to see Connor doing something small to make himself happy. Too many young kids focus all their energy and attention on their first significant other that they don't realize they're still developing their own sense of self worth. P.S. Banff is up in the top 5 of my bucket list.

I've been on a roll with a new story I'm writing. Honestly, I've never been this excited to write. I'm really enjoying it and can't wait to see what these characters do. It was a long week, I was tempted to do bodily harm to the ex-HOA president today, but refrained. Massive positive! Next....🙂

Only a few more hours to trudge through before this work week is done. Two. Days. Off. I can't wait. No big plans other than cleaning my house the way it needs to be cleaned, not just a lick and a promise..lol. I hope everyone is doing well. @chris191070, hang in there. It always cracks me up when businesses advertise "over 100 years of experience!" When I worked in travel, at one point there were 5 of us and combined we had nearly 150 years experience in the field...made all of us feel so freaking old! I was the 'youngest' with 22 years. My coworker was 4 years younger than me, but she'd been in the business for 28 years. Go figure...
