I hope it worked out for them too. I didn't mean to sound callous, I was just flabbergasted. They did know that they needed to have the documents notarized. They called my manager two weeks ago to ask her how to get them notarized. She told them to bring everything in and she would notarize them. She wasn't a young student either. Definitely grad student with a good grasp on English. It shouldn't astound me when these things happen, but it still does. I used to see this happen all the time when I worked in travel. Every client I spoke to who was booking an international trip I made it a point to tell them....."make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your travel dates. You can be denied boarding at the airport." It was also in the paperwork we made them sign. Every year, at least one person calling from the airport panicking because they were denied boarding OR calling me asking me how they can get their renewal expedited because they are leaving in a week and just saw that their passport expires in two days. People just don't listen and then expect you to bend over backwards to accommodate them. If I can help someone out, I will. But there are a lot of situations where my hands are tied. I do think that people don't realize that a notary is a legal function. Even if I had access to the notary stamp, I still can't use it. Doing so is fraud and it would render whatever documents that were notarized null and void. I had the impression she thought anyone could just sign her stuff. Anyways, I gave her a few options of where to go for a notary. It was the best I could do.

OMFG. Answer me this ... knowing how messed up the US is, especially when it comes to immigration, if you were here on a student visa and it needed to be renewed, and the application to renew had to be mailed by a certain date.....WHY TF WOULD YOU WAIT UNTIL 3PM ON THAT DAY TO COME IN TO YOUR LEASING OFFICE TO HAVE COPIES OF YOUR LEASE NOTARIZED??!!! I am NOT a notary. My manager is, and of course she left early to deal with a pool issue and won't be back until tomorrow. I told the girl point blank "you shouldn't have waited until the last minute." She said they went to their bank and they wouldn't do it. There is no fixing stupidity. Why would anyone risk their legal immigration status in this day and age? Have a nice flight back to your home country. Omg.

I don't even know where to start with this chapter. There's a $#!+load going on and all of is between the lines. I have a feeling there is way more happening than what you've written. @Mikiesboy is right. Your style has changed a bit and it's working. Too well. Taggart now has more layers than an onion and Ash hasn't even managed to peel one off yet. He's got his thumbnail under the skin but has barely pried it up. So let me take a stab at a few conspiracy theories. Why Taggart is so butt hurt over hurting Ash...... He caused an injury to someone else on the past that resulted in a disfiguring scar and still carries the guilt. The whole undercurrent between James, Ash and Taggart...... Yes, James is the owners son so he has to be vested I what's going on. He's proven to be very observant and I think it's because he wants what's best to keep the ranch running profitably. Its his future on the line. Happy ranch hands = things getting done. Does Taggart have scars..... I don't think he has scars on his back. His ass...maybe. My reasoning is simple. He turns his back in the shower and I'm assuming he wraps a towel around his waist before exiting. This would keep his back exposed but his ass would be covered. The other guys would be able to see his back when he walked out but not the glutes. I agree with @Daddydavek's assessment that the Taggart is the real one wounded in this chapter. Finally, we have this.... "I did trust you." Taggert looked up at him, their eyes locking. Ash stared back. "I still do." Taggert sat there looking at him. His eyes wandered a bit over Ash's features. Then, he blinked. ....Trust is something that I think means a whole lot to Taggart. Whatever is in his past shattered his trust in everything. Such a simple statement by Ash has the effect of rocking Taggart to his core. You're making us work for this one, Wayne. Brat. 😜 Keep 'em coming!

Way to go Wayne! Its amazing what our bodies can and can't do. It does feel great when you accomplish something you thought you couldn't do or thought would take a while to get there. Then there's those people like me who go to their primary care doc for steroid shots in the knees and when he palpates and maneuvers my knees he goes....."yah, thats a whole lot of crunching going on." 🫢😳🤣 Keep up the good work!

It was certainly different back when we were young! Neither of my parents hit alcoholic raisins first thing in the morning, but on Sunday afternoons during Nascar season, my dad would settle on his recliner and I'd get the command "make me a drink." I made a mean whisky sour by the age of 6 LOL. Mom got one too. Later on they graduated to a Black Russian for Dad and a White Russian for mom. I should've been a bar tender. My first job in high school was with Carvel and we would make rum raisin ice cream. It was rum flavored ice cream (fake of course) with raisins that had been soaked in simple syrup. That was some good stuff.

Raisins can be soaked in a variety of liquids. Warm water, fruit juice, one of my friends soaked them in coffee(which I thought was weird, but to each their own), most types of alcohol, although rum is used most often. You only need to soak them for 15-30 minutes for most recipes but if you use alcohol it should be overnight. Rum raisins are great for fruitcakes.

I think someone had a great idea. Ive added apples to my shopping list. I will be baking either today or tomorrow. There's just too much stuff to do around this house. I've cut my own hair for years and I buzzed hubby and the boys for many years. I still do the husbands but the kids are on their own. (Unless the younger one decides he doesn't want long hair anymore lol). Mine is pretty long right now. I need to trim the back but it's at an awkward length for me to do it myself. So it'll keep growing until I decide to chop it all off. Which I've done before. Our humidity ticked up today. I was inside all day "working". (Yeah, got some writing done and managed 9400 steps pacing while listening to an audiobook). Its pizza for us for dinner as I did not take anything out of the freezer. Ok Wayne, let's talk. Beside him, Taggert didn’t drink right away. He held the glass loosely, watching the room, not tense, exactly, but not relaxed either. His gaze flicked from the door to the bar, to the people at the tables. Always moving. Always aware. Whatever Taggart has been through has honed his situational awareness to a razor sharp point. The man always knows what's going on around him. Is it a good thing? Probably. Could it be a bad thing? Potentially. We shall see. Then there's this: Close enough to catch the way his eyes flicked, not to the table, not to the room-- To Ash's lips. Then up to his eyes. And they stayed there for a beat. Looks like Ash's situational awareness skillz are pretty sharp too. Then we end this way: He didn’t dare move. Not with Taggert leaning into him like that. Not with whatever the hell this was sitting heavy in his chest and in the pit of his stomach. And lower. That part didn’t make any sense at all. And it wasn't going anywhere Somebody's inner gay boy is waking up. Question is...how long will it take him to figure it out? Well played Wayne.

I've been in such a slump for the past 2 years. I started 2 stories, stalled, then started a 3rd. I think the 3rd time is a charm though because I just finished up chapter 17 and have a pretty clear vision of how I want the rest of it to go. Its been a long road, but I think I'm close to the end. Things you don't want to hear when you're at a boarding gate: Ladies and gentlemen, there will be a slight delay boarding flight 1234 while we wait for incoming passengers to deplane. The captain has informed us that there is a ....... thing.......with the plane and will advise us as to when we can begin boarding. Thankfully not my flight. But really, a thing? We're off to Kansas tonight to see my elder spawn for his birthday. I'm not a fan of taking the last flight of the day but it made the most sense as they have a wedding this afternoon. We don't get in until just after midnight. His birthday is Tuesday and for his present I got us tickets to see the Royals get beaten by the dreaded Yankees. But I did spring for decent seats so we'll have fun. I'm so excited to see my son and daughter-in-law. Hopefully the flights are on time. 🤞 Have a good weekend everyone!
