Part 4 - The Final Part.
Mancunian commented on Mancunian's story chapter in Part 4 - The Final Part.
This is one man's story and reflects what can happen, and too often does, to our ex servicemen. Our ex-servicemen need support when returning to civilian life, especially those that have seen active service. I hope that Ox's, later known as The Major, story reflects that. -
I believe that many governments are guilty of this neglect, more needs to be done. I hope that your nephew is receiving the help and support that he needs and deserves, he has my thanks and respect for serving us and his country.

I think both are in need of some healing, that conversation is an important step in that process.

The Boot Three Years On - Epilogue
Mancunian commented on Mancunian's story chapter in The Boot Three Years On - Epilogue
Thank you @raven1 for reading and your encouraging comments, I hope you enjoy the other stories in The Boot World and continue to let me know your thoughts. -
@raven1The Old Shoe Factory name was retained, I hope you approve, and the new Project Management Team has yet to meet, but I have high hopes.
-
I loved writing this so much I wished it was real, but alas that wish wasn't granted.
-
Suddenly the future is looking much brighter for The Boot, but wait for things to develop. Ian and Kevin are starting to experience success and they deserve it.
-
I've got my fingers crossed on all fronts and hoping for the best. 🤞
-
All will be revealed in time.
-
Andy reacted first then thought about his actions before calling the police, he should have called the police first, but hey it's easy to be wise after the event isn't it. He doesn't see his actions as heroic, he was trying to protect someone in need. Is the hand holding the start of something romantic, or is it just the natural human instinct to offer comfort? Time will tell. A lot of us think all of the homeless people are men but women are often homeless and they need help too.
-
It's been very mixed news in this chapter, unfortunately that is life. I'm sure that the twins will be a source of joy for bot Jim and Beccy, not to mention Major Grandad, lol. The news for The Boot is devastating for all as we will see in future chapters.
-
Jim and Beccy had the wedding that any couple deserve, a happy one surrounded by friends to make it a day to remember. As for the ending... well what's a wedding without a little excitement.
-
I like to show that life isn't always doom and gloom, there are many happy events that take place every day. Unfortunately some people are stubborn, maybe too stubborn for their own good.
-
To both Manny and The Major the boys are family, they are like the son's they neither of them had so this feels like a natural progression. £500 pounds each to buy a partnership in a thriving jewellery business is nothing more than a token amount and enough to satisfy any legal requirements, now their future is as secure as it ever could be. I liked the wedding announcement because it shows that homeless people are the same as everyone else, they can meet others and fall in love, they have the same feelings as we all do. I wanted to show that everyone deserves happiness and a future regardless of who they are. I hope I succeeded.

it definitely ranks as one my favourite chapters, I enjoy writing about the better parts of life. Danny and JJ are in good supportive homes where they should be, all kids deserve that. As for Christian/John and Andy we can only hope, at least one of them needs to take the blinkers off, but will they?
-
The Major's story needs to be told as upsetting as it may be it is important that people understand. Those letters, PTSD, may mean little or nothing to many but to those who suffer as a result of it and to those who understand it, it is huge thing, it needs to be acknowledged and treated with compassion, then some form of recovery is possible even if it is only partial.
-
That's what worries Jeff, hopefully there will be no detrimental effects
-
It's right to be concerned for Jason/JJ's mental health but he is in the best place to help him, hopefully soon he will be ready to move on. I don't think there will be many who will miss Bill or his accomplice, hopefully his memory will fade away into the past. The Major has a good life now which I think he values and underneath his gruff exterior I think he is a shrewd man who will keep a level head.
-
Being caught 'red-handed' it is my hope that Bill and his friend can and will be dealt with by the courts. Luckily, due to prompt action, the young lad didn't come to any lasting harm. I like to add a bit of humour when I can, the store clerk making a pass at The Major felt like a good idea to raise all of our spirits. Now The Major is on his way back home hopefully he will start to deal with his own issues, he may need some professional help, but I know the boys will look out for him.
-
Yep Mr P is in police custody, that's the best part of this chapter, as for the rest I have my fingers crossed 🤞.

Well done and congratulations, just don't go too overboard with the celebrations, hangovers are hell to deal with, oh I forgot you are used to handling them, lol.- 31 comments

We are all familiar with the phrase 'Good can come out of evil', I'm not sure that is the case for the most part but in this instance some good at least will come. Jason/JJ has a long battle for recovery but I feel confident he will get there. I'm sure life will catch up to Bill 🤞. As we all have discovered Christian is a good man, his letter and actions are motivated by his affection for The Major and I think are appropriate. The back story behind the pictures is a sad one and can be found in The Major's own story, Lost Soul - The Ox.
-
Like I've said before, Bill is a sleezebag, what he's done will catch up to him in time and hopefully he gets what he deserves. The Major is in a better place both physically and mentally but there are some adjustments to be made. There will be many developments for Danny and JJ, we just have to be patient. There is only so much that John/Christian can do, but whatever it is he always does what he can.

Judy is great, she is firm but fair and very caring behind that hard exterior, I might have to think of a way to bring her back into the bigger story 😉. Kate and Steve are the parents that all kids should have so Danny has lucked out with them in his corner. As for his future we will have to wait and see.

What I write is fictional, although it does contain some unpleasant truths, I was upset by the article but at the same time pleased to see one of the truths of life being proved, there are good people in this world who go out of their way to help. All shelters like The Boot have interesting histories, those histories are often seated in the vision of a group or individual who want to help others, they rarely get recognised, or are given credit, for the hard work that they do. Danny is in a good place with good people who will guide and support him, I'm sure his reaction will be good. As for The Major well, he is that grumpy lovable old rogue that everyone has a soft spot for, so how could they turn their backs on him.
